  1. People on here do understand. But the vitriol and complaining was towards SOC when it should be directed at UIL and the local DEC.

  5. The Labor Participation Rate is going to fall every year for the foreseeable future Persons who retire, quit working with no intention of re-entering the work force cause the Labor Participation Rate to decline Because Boomers are now retiring, and the following generations are smaller. more people are retiring than entering the workforce......This is why we need the birth rate to increase, along with help SS. Another hit to this number is influencers on the internet. They are considered "self employed" so they don't count. A google search claims around 300 million influencers are out there. I asked GROK how many active OnlyFans creators are out there and it claims 1.5 - 2 million. Those women literally work from home versus getting jobs like they would have 10 years ago. So, it's easy just to post a number, post a meme or post someone else's opinion.....but facts are facts and if we get a Democrat in 20258, they will have the same problems.....

  6. As I stated, AI pulled this info from the report itself. It was not AI’s opinion. True, facts are a stubborn thing!

  9. From the report as stated from an AI search: The report points to: Local government education lost about 50,000 jobs, which economists say was likely influenced by seasonal-adjustment issues rather than a wave of layoffs. Retail lost about 19,000 jobs. Financial activities lost about 14,000 jobs. Meanwhile, healthcare, construction, manufacturing, and information added jobs

  10. Just spoke with an High Island school official. HI will be playing in TCAL for all their athletics. Doesn't mean that some of their athletic teams will not play UIL teams in non-district because they will play some of those schools. Just won't be participating in any districts in UIL athletics. High Island will have a varsity football team this coming season unlike last year. Will remain a 6 man football team.

  11. I can agree with that last statement. I have stated that the coaches and local DEC's have to do better. The problem with DISD is they have become a "you watch my back and I'll watch yours" district.

  12. I'm pretty confident the schools in South Oak Cliff's district would be perfectly okay forgoing the marginal players that transfer into their school if it meant they could keep their most talented players that they no doubt lose to schools like SOC. It's far more likely, at least in the case of SOC, that Dallas ISD pressures the other coaches in the district to allow it to happen.

  13. I think if you had true football capitalism it would not go the way you think it would go lol The process is imperfect because its based on human judgement which is imperfect and thats not taking into account the process where humans willfully aren't honest on the forms....BUT based on the rules today that opens the door for circumvention of the rules in place. If I were in charge I'd try to get rid of judgment as much as possible and make it black and white...no more transferring for athletic purposes questions on the form..its residency and residency alone...BUT I'd have more robust compliance arm of the UIL to check into residency questions and not leave that to the schools... The only question is..where do I come up with the money to pay the salaries of this compliance arm

  14. I get out plenty and talk with many people in the coaching industry. I know exactly how wild the DFW area is with the transferring but my point is all these players were ruled eligible by all ruling committees. As for the complaining. My point was the vast majority of it comes from the team who loses to the team accused of cheating. Is it justified? To a point, yes. But knowing who some of you are on here that have posted or liked comments on this thread (including you) and what their school association is, my point has been proven. Like I stated before, policy needs improving.

    PAM thread

I was wondering if you heard something I hadn't. Ha. Yes two middle linebackers will be replaced but there is experience there. DL will be better than last year. Same for the secondary. OLB's will be returning. Mason West is the younger QB and has a very good arm. He is a gamer. Ashworth brings a different dynamic with his athleticism and running ability. I am not sure we will beat PAM, but we do have a good season ahead of us. PAM posters......Sorry for hijacking y'alls thread.

  17. Why? Its their prerogative. If their ISD is sound, they are financially secure and their academics are good, there is no pressing need to merge with anyone else for the sake of sports. Its has a very solid B rating (86). Some outside opinions may think otherwise, but its a decision left solely up to their community. If its a successful ISD, they know what's best for them.
