I know this thread has been derailed but still good discussion. Last week vs LaPorte... #9 Ruffin was playing both ways, LB and RB. On defense he was taking a beating from LT Wolford when he wasn't making plays. By the 4th Quarter he spent a lot of time on the sidelines looking worn down.1 point -

I noticed when they played PNG that there was a difference. Take away the turnovers only and United would have looked much different. Likr I said some life and growth. Lets hope it keeps going. Talent is there. New coach, first year gettung some wins under the bealt. Its a start.1 point -

My point exactly.. it’s the bye week. Hopefully they are adjusting and possibly trying some new things out. There is 3 weeks of game film on tape against quality opponents. If nothing changes basketball will come early in Nederland.1 point -

8-5aD2 vs BYE Week

I think, for me, Dayton has been the team most exceeding expectations so far. I’m not sure if they are legit quite yet. Wins over Crosby and KP were impressive. KP had just beaten Montgomery the prior week before Dayton beat them by 43. Dayton and Montgomery square off next week and that will be a huge game for pecking order. PNG’s 3-0 start with a win over LP has to be the District favorite. I don’t see Huntsville beating them. Huntsville has new coaches and schemes still to work out. Their 2 losses were against really good teams and I think they will be fine. Definitely don’t want to count out Lake Creek. The loss of their QB and RB was huge but I think they are still a solid team. They should challenge for a playoff spot. Ned will be in the mix. They need to find some offense but could challenge. West Fork also capable of pulling an upset. Splendora will be the caboose. We’ll see what happens with the Dayton/Montgomery game but I’ll say right now: 1. PNG, 2. Huntsville, 3. Dayton, 4. Montgomery, 5. Lake Creek, 6. Ned, 7. West Fork, 8. Splendora1 point -

Darth is hitting all the points on what I’m trying express… Don’t recall to many straight 2 way starters and Never coming off the field.. but there is some kids that could be plugged in when we need a big stop/extra pass rush to offensive side with short yardage need that 1-3 yards, extra blocker on the line (jumbo package) and etc.. these are pure examples but things that need to be addressed. Like the elephant in the room Nederland needs to find a quality running back to get #10 a breather and not run him to the ground…1 point -

For PNG, I’d like to see the O-line continue to gel in the run game. La Porte was a big leap forward in how we moved the ball on the ground. I was worried we’d get stuffed all four quarters. The secondary needs work, of course, but it’s much better than last year and the open-field tackling has been back to 2022-2023 form. I hope the state ranking and the big win over La Porte don’t cloud our vision. It’s a tough district, and preseason records don’t tell us everything about how a season will go. I haven’t seen much of Dayton, and nothing from the two Montgomery schools. I think Lake Creek is down from last year. We’ll find out next week. Just going off game results (and Dayton’s first game, which I was able to watch) Dayton and Montgomery are looking good. Huntsville has some issues, especially tackling and the blocking has been spotty, but they’re fast and big and if they tighten up they should be solid. Nederland has to figure out some offense. Until we see if that happens, it’s hard not to wonder what will happen against district opponents. West Fork looks fundamentally sound - I think they’ll surprise some people. Splendora is Splendora.1 point -
That I am not 100% sure of. I'll have to go back and look at it. But I do know that the campus CCTV caught him going up the stairs to the top of the roof. For some reason they only showed still shots and not the actual video. You can check out the first 28 seconds of a video that shows the pics I posted a few post up. Look at it and tell me if you see a gun. At first I thought it was in his right pants leg. But one of the pics shows him bending that knee. So not there. PS -- But you would think there would be campus CCTV on the corner of the building where he jumped off.1 point
-
@bullets13 Tell me what you think?! PS -- of the pics of him, why screen shots? Why not show us the actual video? @LumRaiderFan @baddog @OlDawg Watch the first 28 seconds.1 point

From 7 seconds to 28 seconds, is he walking to get ready to shoot? If so, again, where's the gun. Or is this a different time?1 point

I think you may be on to something. Isn't this what a conspiracy looks like. Actually I think the lady here did use the word conspiracy. I still have a ton of questions. But back to the original question: On the video while the punk is leaving the top of the building -- where's the gun?! I still don't see it.1 point

Spidey---maybe some of those young kids will continue to get better? All programs have cycles of success and down years. That's high school sports. When you have good coaches and a good group of kids, enjoy the ride. When your team struggles, circle the wagons and encourage them to get better. Regardless, if those kids put on your school's colors, love them, encourage them, and support them. On my side of the tracks, if our kids struggle, I hope all Indian fans will love them and encourage them to compete and get better. Tearing them down on a public forum isn't helpful or supportive. Take the next two weeks, heal up, get better in practice, and go compete in district. Good things just might happen. GO INDIANS! Peace.1 point

PNG Jr Purple with a big win today over PA Red to make the Super Bowl. It’s been a wild year for this team. Before our 1st game, one of our coaches had a massive heart attack and passed away at practice in front of the boys. Our motto from then on was Fight for Big E, and they have every single play of every game. It’s been fun to watch our smaller team line up against kids 30-40 lbs bigger and blow them off the ball. 9-1 record on the year with 7 shutouts. On to the Super Bowl against the only team to beat them. Keep fighting and Go win it for Big E!!!!1 point -

None of that is true except the certificate part. PNG had a draft and Stjfl officials were there. 1 kids parents had a problem and made a huge scene including some pretty racist remarks. They got their way and redrafted. The kid is playing, but the parents aren’t allowed at practice or games. I’m surprised the STJFL buckled to them especially after reading some of the text and emails.1 point -
