I wasn't aware that Ware had worn out his welcome in the community, but apparently there is a contingent that wants to try and bring some of the hometown Bronco's back to run the program. Wow, that is tough to read. He is a fine young man with great character! I can personally attest to that and how he has carried himself through the years. Everyone is capable of making a mistake I guess, but he really is a great kid. Sad that another big part of his season is being wasted.

The community has passed the last few set of bonds…. The bonds presented to vote in mid 2000s were very popular and everyone was on board and a group of people paid some bond killers to come in spread false information and made lots of false statements about it.. so it failed. Everyone got scared. Now the community is very much involved and still very supportive..

Prouse and Jenkins on the list and they landed on Breaux. Interesting decision. I'll be curious to see how that works out for them.

Past volleyball coach held a summer camp at an alternate location due to not being able to use school facilities. Now she is able to use her current school facilities to host her camp. i know in the past people have tried to helping certain sports with upgrades and have been shot down. Lucky to have the Senior Babe Ruth and their contributions and hard work at the baseball complex.

I went to a Little Dribblers game yesterday. This is the crap the kids are playing on. Little Dribblers raised money to replace this junk with adjustable goals in all the middle school gyms that they use. Nederland admin told them no. Someone else is wanting to pay for better facilities for our kids and they get shot down? Make that make sense to me. Also the same Admin that won’t allow coaches to have camps for the youth in the summer. I believe English is the only one that offers anything and he has to do it off campus at a church. This is who we have running the district and ultimately making this hire. Forgive me for not have much faith in them.

I know you are probably being sarcastic but, that shouldn’t even be a question. Everybody knows Nederland is not going to pull in a high quality coach. Facilities and an administration that doesn’t care about athletic’s and a community that makes it tough to pass bonds to upgrade anything is not a very attractive job. Plus they will not pay the money that will be required to get a good quality guy. If somehow they convince another guy like Neuman to come in. He won’t stay long when he sees how tough it is to get anything done around there.

I'm surprised Orangefield is not in the top 20. They are returning 8 starters from a good year last season.

That’s because you find the most negative thing in every situation. They went 2-27 two years ago, 9-22 last year. This year they’re 9-9 after 18 games, and 3-2 in conference (one basket away from 4-1) after going 5-13 last year. I struggle to understand how someone can look at those results and not note the vast improvement from year to year, but only find things to complain about.

Brooks has been a disappointing hire to say the least. He had a poor record in Houston in the mid 90s. He seems like a good assistant but not head coaching material. I've had nothing but good things to say about Tic in his Lamar days. They threw him in when Knight had the team all messed up and you can tell the man knows his stuff. The sooner the AD moves on to a new hire the better for Lamar. Since Pat Foster left in '86 it's pretty much been 40 years of nothing but futility. One from the good old days

Depending on the definition of "decent," I would say UTSA has the potential to be decent. I watched both of the games with the Roadrunners, and they have some talent. I thought they were pretty poorly coached. It amazes me how virtually no adjustments are made in game. And I was lambasted on here for defending Tic during his last season. The Cards won two conference tournament games that year, one against a good Sam team before losing to Abilene Christian who went on to beat UT in March Madness. For those keeping track, we haven't been back to a conference tournament since, after back to back last place conference finishes. I stand by my statement that Coach Price was the third best coach in Lamar basketball history since the Pecker Tech days, behind the obvious two legends. Of course, the great Marco Borne saw fit to fire the man (the day after telling him he would get to coach the last year of his contract). In fairness, Borne did so on his way to rehab so who knows what his mindset was. Needless to say, ended up being a final parting gift as he promptly followed Tic out the door after making a final hire or two. Good news is I am fully confident our current AD.

Agreed. Tic didn’t deserve the treatment he got. But I’m not sure Marco did anything well in his short tenure as AD. I am hoping this is the year they figure it out. A guy can hope lol

Yeah Lamar never lead this game and at it was 67-48. with 7:36 to play. I wish the program all the luck in the world but I am still disappointed the way Tic Price was treated. As I posted below Tic is back in administration with the Southland Conference. I believe to be successful again Lamar will need to take a new approach to hiring the next head coach. 12-50 record since Alvin came on.
