Silsbee has now won 5 straight and 7 of last 8 against Jasper. This is also the first time Silsbee has had back to back 10-0 regular seasons.

Everyone got plenty of playing time, even Adams came in to take victory formation honors. Galena Park has a very good band and drill team. The football team is few in number, and mostly small, but there was some hitting going on, especially from their offensive line, regardless of the outcome. Congrats to the Indians, district champs.

As far as this game goes, BH lost it more that Porter won it. BH up 21-0 in the 3rd and can't seal the deal? Thats on them! Not the refs, the weather, clerical errors or any such thing. BH is soley responsible for their 2nd half implosion. Our short swing passes were working great but we could not connect on a long pass to save our lives. Every single one of them were overthrown. All...night...long. Why keep forcing that when you need 3-4 yards? That, and the tackling was terrible.

I think PnG will be ok. Brenham is soft on defense, and doesn’t have a lot on offense. Not to mention being pretty mistake-prone. I expect a comfortable 42-21 PNG win.

Well…….regular season is over and I hate to end it on a loss but now I’m a fan of La Porte, PAM, and Porter. We have TONS of talent in this district. I really hope we can all get it to together and make a run. I’m sick of the same teams going deep every year.

Thanks for the info. My Silsbee part of the family will like this. It will allow them to attend the Jasper game with our family of Jasper supporters. Congratulations HF and WOS also. Anything is possible. WOS could pull a surprise.

Downfall? It was the literally the only way we were in a position to win. If we were done in, it wasn’t because smith was chosen to run one more time. It was because Silsbee showed grit and finally made a play to stop him and not have him mowing through several defenders for chunks of yards at a time. hats of to coach c. on saving a weapon all season. 4 clearly showed why he is a prized recruit.

If this is a complaint I'd love the details since I'm not sure what is the problem.

I’ve seen all 3 of these teams play this year (HF, Silsbee and Jasper) IMOP Jasper has the most talented team in the district but they are also the worst coached and undisciplined of the 3. Jasper would have beat HF without all the unnecessary roughness calls and poor offensive play calling. If HF and Jasper are lucky enough to meet in the 3rd round I’ve got Jasper winning but don’t see HF making it to round 3. Silsbee has the best player in the district in Miller and some other good complimentary receivers and RB. Silsbee has the best shot of of making the deeper run of the 3 teams. HF is well coached and has good talent but their offense line will be their downfall. Their QB is very accurate and the best in the district when given time to set his feet. When he played Silsbee and Jasper he was throwing off his back foot all game and had no time to set his feet. He took some hug hits in both these games. With all that said, I wish all the teams in this district the best of luck and pray for the best. One thing is for sure they are battle tested.

It's all abt assignments.even if they're young on the line.if the defense doesn't know how to line up and know there keys.it takes inexperience out the equation.

I'm guessing that was a total shot in the dark. Shepherd is not good. Coldspring returns most of their starters from last year, including possibly the best player in the district. Anderson will actually be pretty good. Onalaska is definitely on their way up. Crockett lost their best 3 players. Tarkington is returning 7 kids from varsity last year including a starter and has played well all spring and summer long. My prediction. 1. Tarkington 2. Coldspring 3. Onalaska 4. Crockett 5. Anderson 6. Shepherd 7. Trinity 8. New Waverly
