Dogs bust out the brooms!! PNG ask for a refund, things get weird and fake things happen. Life will be good in Midcounty

As an outsider (with a lot of gray hair), it’s critical for a Superintendent to understand the pivotal role extracurricular activities play in the overall education process. In a single high school town, the extracurricular activities are what the town rallies around. They can bring a sense of pride, which—in turn—brings more community/parental involvement, which breeds more success in academics as well as total well-rounded education. Successful extracurricular teams have historically provided more approved bond moneys than any other school activity. Just academics aren’t even close. Academics are great. But, voters don’t jump up & down & cheer for Johnny & Janet’s 4.5 gpa. It just doesn’t garner the same type of pride—even though it’s fantastic. Those who only focus on academics are just as bad as those who only focus on extracurriculars for not helping their charges reach their full potential. Pride in community is built quickly on successful Friday nights. Don’t underestimate the power of this to get necessary bond money approved for other needed improvements—both academic assistance and otherwise. I wish Crosby luck.

I hate that for you. Hope you get better.

Finally getting some tolerable football weather. Raiders go get district win # 1.

Coach Willis isn't dumb he's not going to get on an interview platform and talk about the negatives of a job he was just hired at...if he did that, he'd be an idiot. He knew what he was getting into and he knew he was walking into a very difficult situation, will he be successful? Time will tell, I cant speak for the superintendent and all the other issues but I feel like all things considered she hired a very good coach

Unless your a fly on the wall during Sunday game planning, and watching it implemented in every practice, 99.9% of people want have a clue , who is the best coached team, especially in a equally talented matched game. The question you should be asking about HF and Jasper, or any matchup for that matter is, Which team has the most and best Coachable Players. Now in an equally talented matchup , 99.9% of the time ,that team will win.

Or Terrel Bernard...the reigning AFC defensive player of the week!!

Translate this into a setx sports dialogue. 😃

Ain’t it funny how people get on here and complain about people complaining?

Well, if I’m being honest, I can’t go to the Rice Festival this weekend, and I was really really really wanting some rice balls.

No but KOGT.com will video broadcast.

The proverbial cart in front of the horse situation.

After next week against Anahuac they can confirm their deer hunting plans.

Whatever you say. I already said, "...you have to have a shared focus on academics and extracurriculars for district success." Newsflash: Calling it human behavior does not relieve it from being shameful. It is what it is though.

Brookeland!

4-2-1

You’re right. And that’s a shame. I do agree you have to have a shared focus on academics and extracurriculars for district success. Sadly, the latter is usually the main focus.

Absolutely horrible call, clearly pushed the receiving teams own player into the returner, hate to see a bad call shift such a good game

Not sure that was the correct call on the interference.

Ha! My mind says PAM. (But, with PAM’s schedule so far, it’s hard for me to gauge.) My heart says Dawgs. I think It will be higher scoring. I’d be tempted to say 41-38 LP as a homer. PAM/LP tilts are hard to pick when they both are close to their historical selves.

SC defense has done a good job of containing Bailey

Fumble. SC ball. !!:14/21/3

sorry to hear u won't be there. i hope all is well with u. as far as the game, i look for a fast low scoring game due to LP running attack. Heart says PAM, mind LP....20-14 either way

I'm certainly agreeing with him on that! As a matter of fact you see it all across the state; there are numerous programs that were once very proud and successful that are now struggling to win because of this....just to name a few in East Texas that are suffering dearly: Alto, Tenaha, Jacksonville, Henderson, Tatum...these are a few of the schools (just in east Texas). Make no mistake its happening on a very large scale across the entire state

So according to you she is good on the education side but bad on the sports side. That is kinda like saying my kid passed all her subjects but but failed PE. They are still on the failure list Welcome to TEXAS where football is KING.

at least the ref did not pull a kids helmet off his head.

This is how I wrote when I needed to meet a word quota a for a term paper in British Lit.

Thank you Sir, I try my best. We live in a time we have to make everyone happy. Good luck Friday night

That was very positive.

That staff couldn’t find the 50 defense if you gave them 2 quarters! 🤔
