I agree Stump is the best head football coach to coach at a Beaumont school since Alex Durley. Mr. Durley is by far the best overall & has the record to prove it.

I always thought Craig Stump was and is an excellent coach. Won't get any argument from me on this issue. Cita will give North Shore all they can handle.

Lol you gotta stop this! CMike & RG were indeed Pro’s no disrespect to them but it’s levels, you can’t compare them to a guy who’s been in the league for almost a decade and made multiple pro bowls. Not to mention there were a couple other D1 players on that clements team. That ain’t equal talent, also that IKE team if I remember right signed the most D1 players than any other HS in the country that year. As far as Dickinson, coached against them many times they’ve always had more talent than WB and still do! That Cy Falls team was LOADED, hence why they played in the state championship game that year & lost to a Cedar Hill team that had way more talent. Outside of the one state run Peevy’s tenure (he benefited from Katy having to play in the D1 bracket that year) was very average at WB & don’t even compare to Stump come on man this not even a debate. Stump is literally an offensive wizard! Can coach it with the best of them. Stump will be at Cita for as long as he wants to be & when he decides to retire his son will take over the reins. If the fan base is upset they’re simply delusional, they expect him to beat a NS program that has more talent & has only loss 4 games in the last 5 years? Come on

All the teams I made bold, Stump's WB teams had equal or better talent than. Stump had future pros on those team as well. Christine Micheal and Ryan Grant were on the team that lost to Dickerson. Hell Peevy accomplished more at WB with less. My opinion might be strong as calling him not good, but he definitely underachieved with the talent he had at WB. Plus, the Atascocita fanbase is starting the have those same sentiments.

Statements like this lets me know guys like you don’t know nothing about football. Stump is an elite coach especially on the offensive side! Coached against him many times, offensive scheme is one of the best in the state. Has he won a state title? No, but the comments I see you guys make about him on here is laughable honestly. The guy has won at a high level consistently everywhere he’s been. Keep in mind he beat NS in 16 & 17, just beat Katy a few weeks ago & has been to a state semifinals. Also Last 3 or 4 years he’s made it to the regional finals, not sure how a guy with the resume of stump’s is classified as someone who can’t coach smh

I think overall the coach at Sterling is a good dude, but this was the year where it was finally time to turn the corner and win some games, and I’m not talking about just defeating the other two Baytown schools which I don’t believe he has in recent years. Of course he gets the win against GCM. However , it’s no secret they pay him a huge salary to lead that program along with assistant coaches making more than 3A and 4A athletic directors around most areas of the state. You got a very young linebacker coach that pretends to know a lot more than he actually does, an older QB coach that has failed in getting the ranger QB to progress. He has had that player for nearly two years as a starter, and I’ve yet to see or hear the QB truly take another step, and this QB is an excellent athlete. I heard through the grapevine that several 9th grade coaches were promoted up this season when you had some varsity coaches from last year leave for another district or previous profession. One of those coaches was the d-line coach who was hands down the most knowledgeable coach on the staff. I heard that he was replaced by a 9th grade coach. You also lost one of the linebacker coaches who was the most popular coach on that staff and biggest inspirational motivator to those kids. He went back to another profession, I think he was a special agent or some fancy law officer title. His position was not filled leaving only one LB coach for this year. One LB coach in that size school..not smart. You also lost an o-line coach who was a true o-line coach and fit the identity of that position with his gritty approach. I also think they lost some more offensive coaches. Either not filled or filled with 9th grade staff. They did replace coordinators, but that hasn’t exactly worked out. Sure they were still bad last year, no arguing that, but this year they were an older team with higher expectations, and again Toomer has failed to meet that expectation. Anything is possible. They could turn it around and get a win against Crosby or LaPorte, but that’s not likely. I sure hope they do. Pulling for it to work out for them. I hate to see a program that loses consistently every year. At some point , if it doesn’t turn around, Goose Creek may want to look towards the future of Sterling and see if they can find another overall leader. I think 6 years of losing is enough.

Thank you. We had to take on Katy, Clements, Cinco Ranch and Cy-Falls when I played on WB. ALL of those teams made it to AT LEWST the 4th round I guarantee you that if we went 5A D2 any of those years we go at least 5 rounds deep.

Bro no team he lost to when he was at WB he had more talent than the opposing team (maybe a couple games where the talent was equal but that’s apart of coaching) I’ll just go back to when he took over: 2005: 8-2 only losses were to Westfield & Katy who both are far more superior in every aspect of football. (Keep in mind he took over a team that went 2-8 the prior season) 2006: 9-4 losses to Westfield, Humble, Channelview & loss in the 3rd round to Cy Falls. Cy Falls played for a state title that year FYI. 2007: 10-2 only losses Westfield 33-24 & Fort Bend Clements 36-33 mind Clements had a Pro in Derek Carr playing QB 2008: 8-2 only losses NS & Dickinson 2009: 9-4 only losses to Westfield, IKE, Katy & Cinco Ranch 2010: 8-4 only losses to Katy, NS, La Porte & Pearland 2011: 6-5 only losses to Katy, NS, PA La Porte & Deer Park Stump went 58-23 during his 7 year tenure at WB thats winning over 72% of his games coaching in a school district that lacked (and still does) the infrastructure to have a successful football program. Now he’s at Atascocita & has turned them into a juggernaut & he’s probably going to be a HOF before it’s all said & done. Again idk where the narrative on here come from that Stump is just an “ok” coach but his resume says otherwise. He’s literally done everything as a head coach except win a state title. I may not be old enough to make this next statement but stump is probably the best football coach to come through Beaumont in my lifetime.

You have a point, but Stump has loss games where his team was equal or was only slightly better than their opponent. Look at all those loaded WB teams he coached and couldn't make it pass the 3rd round. All those years at WB with the bulk of the Beaumont talent and he won district once and never made it out of the region.

O'Neals has been there for about 5 years, I think. They have had a place on old 146 in central Baytown forever, but now expanded to the north landing of the Hartman bridge. I don't think O'Neal's is going anywhere. They seem always busy. [Hidden Content]

Not sure if you noticed but that’s typically how HSFB works, the more talented team usually wins 9/10 times. Football is all about jimmy’s and joes. Hence why NS & DV has dominated 6A the past few years.

If so, I am surprised they just dropped out of the Rice Bowl. Seems they would want to play, correct? In any case I was talking medium to longer term. I have no idea who is coming up in the next 1-3 years for them. Winnie is changing, futbol will benefit. Zero doubt about that. On a related matter, Chambers Co. just voted to build a massive jail and Justice Center (Courts) in Anahuac. Look for Anahuac's population to further accelerate.

It was a good way to start district play with a win, but Buna hasn’t beaten any team of note this season, and going up against Kirbyville Friday is going to be extremely difficult to come out on top. OF and Anahuac should be a good one. Getting a win against the bobcats at home will be a tall task. I’m looking forward to see how this one plays out. Good Luck to both teams.

Meh, Crosby's talent is good enough to compete but they have substantially worse coaching than anyone else in this district (outside of Sterling/GCM). Old guy needs to hang it up doesn't have it anymore. Crosby's biggest issue is we had a coach come in and try to make players play his system instead of evaluating what system is best for the players. Crosby is much more talented than their record but when you're coach runs the ball up the middle 25 times in the second half while losing what are you gonna do? Defense looks like a shell of what it was last year as well so it's all the way around that coaching staff. Hope the coach retires, so we can get someone who actually wants to do the job in the building.

This game will get ugly real quick. Best case scenario for Crosby on the season is 2-8, with wins over GCM and Sterling.
