I really enjoyed doing this. But I may be back playing again next season. It was different watching these games with no stress over my picks. Thanks to all that played.

I don’t share the sentiment that you have any bias or favor one region over the next. I thought Bally Sports coverage went way over board on the SOC and Duncanville hype. They didn’t spend that time on PNG or GPNS. It seemed that’s pretty much all they cared about. From the pregame segments, to the guys/gals perched above the field. It was a love fest. But that comes from the producers, I would guess.

But you’re okay with a photo of a little girl with a Death Row shirt on? Gangster Rap is more of danger to our youth than an Indian Mascot. I know Matt you have to be politically correct and too afraid to upset them. So you have to pick on a little Indian Mascot who doesn’t sing about putting a bullet in someone’s head or saying sexual and degrading things against women. I get it. Yep, you are "entitled to your opinion" as is, everyone else to be "entitled to their opinion about your opinion". If you want open your mouth, you can do so and alienate any fan base you choose. There are many who would like to enjoy a sport without the introduction of political narratives. PNG doesnt need to do anything other, "keep being a treasure to HS Football in SETX".

I also agree with rotating the stadiums. One thing l wish they would start doing which probably won’t happen. When a game is over…during the break they should have the stands cleared out. That way the fans for the next game can get good seats first. Then the other fans can fill in if they choose to stay for the next game. We were waiting in line and when they finally let us down stairs the seats were mostly filled with Desoto fans and other fans already…that was some bs.

Great season INDIANS. Tough battle. My take on the game was a great first half. OC adjusted to what was given to them. Momentum is always the key. By the 3rd quarter you guys were wearing down. Nguin , I can tell was exhausted. Needed some help in the running department. The interception and losing the QB was a killer. Thanks for representing the GT and all the crazy people. Bally sports called the game as if it were a Dallas network.

I’m sure if PNG was in DFW this wouldn’t be an issue tho. 😉

That’s unfortunate. He will make a great player wherever he goes. I thought he was no-racial until yesterday. Not that it matters, the kid is a great player regardless of race.

To be fair that kid yall are talking about, his dad is the defensive coordinator at TCU. They moved and then he wanted his kid at Aledo instead of FWISD.

After 15 weeks as the starting QB and taking them to state title game, he's a QB and you ride him and not state that he's just a WR playing QB after you lose a game.

I Was told this a few years from a buddy within the know of the program up there but word was current sophomore class or another ring whichever came first…

Another classic Leach story via Lincoln Riley in his second year as a Tech assistant (by the way, if USC had won last week, half of the CFB playoffs’ head coaches would have been Leach disciples): The story is about a phone conversation Riley overheard between Leach and somebody: “He picked it up and said, ‘Hey, how’s it going?’ And then he listened for a second and asked, ‘Where ya calling from?’ He kept talking on the phone and I eventually sort of tuned out. Now, a short phone conversation for Coach Leach is an hour. So he was talking about this and that, and I was kind of hunkered down working on my own stuff. At some point, the call got dropped. They must have lost reception. Coach said, “Can you hear me? Are you there?” Then he closed his old-school flip phone, swung it back open and redialed. He said, ‘Hey, sorry I lost you.’ And then they resumed their conversation for another 30 minutes or so before Coach finally hung up. After he was done, we started talking and I said, ‘Hey Coach, who was that on the phone?’ And he said, ‘Oh, they had the wrong number.'” LEGEND.

My niece went to Silsbee and played sports, but lived in Kountze. Her mom was a teacher at Silsbee.

Off the top of my head, roughly 9 or 10 on defense, and 9 or 10 on offense, but note that my post said "players", not "starters". Depends on how one defines "starters", since there were various starters due to injuries. As an example, #16 and #6, starting Sr linebackers, missed several games due to injuries, and #26 a Jr, and #43 a Soph, "started" against Dayton, Texas City, Willow Ridge and maybe 1 or 2 more games. Others that came up and played included RB #15, and WR #88, both Sophs if I'm not mistaken, and also #42 on defense. Others "started" on special teams, and were back-ups or otherwise saw playing time. The speedy WRs, #18, #10, #84, will be hard to replace, player for player. But the offense may have a slightly different look, presuming #19 becomes starting QB. Adams will be more of dual threat than Crippen was (with all due respect to Crippen); and he was a pretty good QB in middle school and part of his Soph season before he was moved up to varsity. Next season will be interesting.

Lots of returning players, plus a few more that didn't play this season. If they pick up where they left off, and keep the coaching staff, they will be a strong team.

Congratulations PNG! Great run, nothing to be ashamed of. You made to the Championship game against a team loaded with D1 talent and you came away with respect! I hope Joseph sticks around and you guys start making consistent deep runs and actually win another championship!

Port Neches next year has to mix it up because now everyone has footage of how to beat them. I just hope it is not like the season after the 1999 state championship appearance when they went 5-5

Coach Todd is a defensive minded coach if you want to knock his offensive staff fine but I'm gonna disagree to say he's not a good coach just look at what SOC was just a few years back

Yes they didn't but then Port Neches became very predictable with how they ran the plays. Then PN has to learn field awareness like you don't take a sack in the end zone. Then the snap over the head he should have tried to kick it instead of giving 2 points easy to them.
