I know one thing. They’ll more than likely play against each other Friday or Saturday in the YMBL tourney and then the game Tuesday. This would be awesome if they play Twice within a 3 day period…4 points -

I was reading the comments in another forum. There was a lot of sympathy for the father and it was a tragic accident and so on. The bottom line is the father assumed that the gun was unloaded from the latest explanation. His negligence in not checking the gun, then pointing it at his daughter and trying to let the hammer down (I think he just pulled the trigger), caused the death of a small child. it seems like people thought that it was unbelievable, horrible and nothing but a tragic accident. Absolutely….. And this was likely from a very experienced hunter and person who had been around guns for 25 or 30 years. Most of those same people want to hang Alec Baldwin for…. not checking the gun, pointing it at someone else……. And this from a guy who probably knows nothing about guns and trusted another person who was supposed to be an expert they said it was empty. Apparently if you’re you are very experienced with firearms but related to the person you killed by doing almost exactly the same thing, it is acceptable, even if it is a small child. Hypocrisy? I am not claiming that everybody feels that way. I just find it odd that some people think that one situation is a horrible tragedy and there is no need for further action. The same person will turn around in another horrible tragedy and be adamant that somebody needs life in prison for the other similar situation.2 points

LCM vs Chapel Hill
BattlinBear02 and one other reacted to piratevillain for a topic
A few weeks ago, some posters said that CH has some horses over there, and they do. One thing they do well with their athleticism, is getting to the edge on designed runs and screen passes and they gashed Vidor pretty much all night getting their players in space. Their young QB is not accurate throwing especially on the run, so if he drop backs and his first read isn't there he's taking off. I sure hope LCM can pull it off and wouldn't be surprised if they do. But CH just beat a really good Kilgore team, it's gonna be a barn burner regardless!2 points -

Silsbee is a great team but lets not get to far ahead, Bush, Adams or McCain isn't walking through that door next Tuesday, And even if they did I don't think any of them would be the best player on the court honestly. But that's Okay, like another poster stated, the main thing for Silsbee is to get better each week and compete for a 4A title. I do think it will be a very competitive game, and I love that we have two top ranked teams in the State right here in SETX. Here's to an injury free and successful season for both teams2 points

Mr. Buddy Garrity and one other reacted to Boneyard Boys for a topic
Dad gum it… we already decided this about halfway through the season. It is no longer called the Blue D or whatever, it is called the Stampede Defense from here on out. We even cleared it with @powerlifter it was his idea to begin with and he is the ultimate West Orange insider. I even think @Mr. Buddy Garrity can back me up on this one, it shall be known as the WOS Stampede Defense. Since y’all dropped the ‘Chain Gang’ nickname, Vidor took it over we have the Chain Gang Offense now.2 points -

A buck seventy and moving people around like that would be illegal… I think it would break the law of physics lol. Why has Vidor had an outstanding defense the last few seasons, there’s a big part of it right there in the middle. I’ve been lucky enough to be involved with Jordan in sports since he was a little kid. He used to never really know how big and strong he was but he eventually figured it out. I’m going to miss watching that kid play, hopefully he gets a chance to continue his athletic journey somewhere. He deserves a shot, no doubt about it. 🏴☠️2 points -
Silsbee just needs to worry about being the best 4A team, nothing more. I'm sure we'll eventually take a few lumps before district. Really wish we were getting Madison first tomorrow with fresh legs and give them a good slap. That Metroplex arrogance would be off the charts if they send a 3A school down here and they win.2 points

LCM vs Chapel Hill
piratevillain and one other reacted to goldenstick for a topic
Hope so. Took a look at some of the Chapel Hill highlights. Look like a tough team to defend. #1 looks really quick and their wideouts have big play potential, especially when they get them in space. The quarterback is big and fast, not all that accurate but he makes the short easy throws and then goes deep from time to time utilizing their speed. He also a good scrambler once he sees open field, can chew up yards in a hurry. On the defensive side to be average. They play like several other East Texas teams with a high profile offense who looks to strike quick and out score their opponents2 points -

There's a few area players I've seen get D1 Power 5 offers that play the same position and has no where near the talent or highlight tape as him, and we all know tapes don't lie. But if you want my true take on why he's overlooked? It's because the stigma of the town he plays for and he knows that because I've told him myself cause that's the only logical reason besides his height.1 point -

East Texas Girl Killed By Father in Hunting Accident
tvc184 reacted to CardinalBacker for a topic
I think so much of the anger towards Baldwin had to do with his political affiliations. I also remember glee from the left when VP Cheney peppered his friend on a bird hunt. You have to admit that somebody who actively wants gun rights restricted, but then makes themselves rich by PRETENDING to use guns, then does something hare-brained like pointing an "unloaded" gun at a group of people and pulling the trigger while not even filming is kinda ironic/karmic. EVERYBODY gets taught "don't ever point a gun at somebody.... even if it's unloaded." Also, there is a substantial difference between a misfire/accidental discharge like in the hunter's case and pointing a gun at somebody and pulling the trigger. Or at least that's my understanding of what happened. But I agree... reactions are 100% political and hypocritical.1 point -

I wonder, if he’d been at Carthage or one of the prominent schools, if recruiters would be lined up with offers? UT, TA&M, LSU, etc, etc. Jordan has the physical ability, and more heart than 98% of other kids. I guess height is the only downside for Defense, but he’d still be an outstanding Center or Guard on offense. Here’s the deal, I hear other folks taking about kids getting multiple offers from big time D-1 schools. Some, even though they’re good, don’t appear near as good as Jordan. Am I just seeing something not there because he’s a Pirate, or do others see the same thing? Would like to hear from some posters that aren’t Pirate supporters.1 point -

Very true...but they will swear up and down we are the ones that are constantly fooled. It's comical that MagaBidenTrust (or something like that) learned a new word...projection...but had no idea that the person who taught him the word was facetiously mocking him. I'm guessing it was a middle school student sowing his bullying oats. I'm guessing that a different middle schooler sympathetically explained this topic to him...thus MagaBidenTrust's quick departure.1 point -

Some talk on other site Chapel Hill to roll over LCM. Like El Campo before them - like Kilgore was thinking about Chapel Hill, that kind of thinking will get you beat. They see Vidor beat LCM, and they beat Vidor, forgetting the fact that Vidor was 100% healthy when the Pirates beat LCM, and played CH with a crippled backfield and HC missing. Plus the Bears appear to be peaking. Methinks CH is in for a surprise.1 point -

Most of the folks on here get caught up on statistics. A lot more is needed to be a GOAT. Athleticism, heart, god given talent, and work ethic, plus hardware. It’s hard to pick Ritchie, honestly because I never seen him play live. And his stats are mediocre I would imagine. But he has the hardware. And that’s all you need. If I would have seen him play I would probably pick him. The first QB I remember is Deny Duhon. But in those days we became a laughing stock under Butch. Defensively I have seen some great players. Maybe the best middle linebacker I have seen was a kid named Justin Smith, on the 96 team. Thats actually the best defense I have seen other than the 89 team. But I have spoke to every PNG guru. Including Doug. And Wilson Weber is the name. Word is tree trunks for legs and impossible to chop block back in the day. Game speed was good and football IQ was high. And would light you up all night. But you have to remember, I grew up watching the practices, and in my childhood, there was a sidewalk on both sides of the practice field by the old field house. And it was lined up with old timers, and I mean lined up. And I would pick their brains at a young age, and carry that wisdom with me. And once I got my season tickets, I was blessed to sit close to 2 men, who arguably had more knowledge than any alumni I have know. That would be Ken Watson and Dr. Landry. So my opinions are just that, opinions. But I feel I have a better understanding of history, versus the folks who live in the now. But I agree with most, each is entitled, and most of the time, warranted. I’m just not a rah rah. Participant ribbons got you in trouble when I was young.1 point
