Love me some Roy Williams. One of the highlights of my broadcasting career involved Coach Williams. He was at the Nederland basketball tourney a few years ago scouting a player and he sat with me at my broadcast table during one of the games I was doing and came on air with me during halftime. Very special broadcast for me.

You’re one of those folks who “deserve” an answer and explanation to every question, no matter how ridiculous, but also deserve to be able to say whatever you want and it’s supposed to be taken as fact, with no questioning allowed. If someone calls you out, proves you wrong, you just change the subject and demand answers to something unrelated, using it as an excuse to ignore being exposed. I get it. Don’t worry about it. Yeah, the guy that left wasn't elite at all. Only had a career .885 win percentage in over a decade on the sideline vs Morris' .806 win percentage before he went to the college ranks. I guess Westeberg would've never been elite if he didn't coach at Allen first since he has a .690 win percentage at Barbers Hill comprised of one district championship, three third place finishes and a fifth place finish? If he didn't have the rings they would've run him out of town like they did Don Price who had a stretch of 5 undefeated regular seasons in an 8 years stretch before the elite Ronnie Gage showed up with his two rings got run off even quicker.

It has been compared to the flu probably 1 million times. We know the death rate from the flu or supposedly. So the same question, how many millions of people a year get the flu and never get reported? I can just about guarantee that I have had the flu at least twice and I never went to the doctor.

Out of town alum...I am not aware of the recent conversations, emails, training, etc.... Do tell. One difference. The PN-G coaching staff does not treat MCM as just another game. Winning the last three in a row and four out of the last five, they know full well that it is not just another game. Usually, the coach that comes up short in that game says, "It is just another game." What else can be said? The coach has to say something to get the kids refocused and back on track. The winning coach celebrates, the losing coach says, it's just another game. Ned fans and PN-G fans get the coach speak. It's understandable given the magnitude of the game each year. Go Indians. Just my 0.02 cents. I'm not being critical of anyone's opinion, but...Barbara Comeaux has earned the right to stay at PN-GISD as Girls AD/Golf Coach for as long as she decides to get out of bed and put on purple and white. If there was a Mount Rushmore at PN-G, she would be on it. She is worth every penny that PN-GISD pays her and then some. She is one of the strongest pillars there is upholding the core values of PN-GISD: Honor, Pride, and Tradition. Share more info/intel about the new DC. Inquiring minds want to know. Here's to Jayce Nelson either staying with PN-G to learn under a mentor, or if he is moving on, here's to him landing somewhere that is a great fit for him and his family. I've never been a coach, and I can't imagine that my livelihood depended upon 15-18 year old kids. Need good/great coaches, but also need ballplayers. Jimmys and Joes have a lot to do with how good a coach is or isn't. Go Indians. Peace.
