That’s because the UiL let’s the districts police themselves. That’s why Lancaster can have 2 in-season move ins immediately eligible to play and HF can have a kid who has lived in the district several years switch from a private school to his zoned public school and not be allowed to play. Makes no sense? You got it. And @SportsJunkie32 is right. Yates isn’t doing anything those guys up in DFW haven’t been doing for years. They create a couple of super teams per division and take them to SA with sweeps on their minds. JY (and some others) is simply fighting fire with fire.

Beaumont United also gets a lot of discussion since it’s formation and the combining of the two best big school programs in the Triangle. We’ve seen some long Lumberton threads too. Hard to predict this one.....depends on what Silsbee team shows up. But even more so it depends on what yates team shows up. If Yates was exposed to covid Saturday like has been stated they must play their jv and freshmen per uil rules which state you must be out 7 days and have a negative test after 5 days.

Safe travels. Thanks for coming down. By the way, the Yates by 16 I can buy. I haven’t been able to see the Lions this season and only really know 2 of your kids’ games for sure. I would say Yates by 9 but that is a complete guess, other than looking at scores. If the youngsters from Silsbee catch fire they can make it a game and maybe pull the upset. If they cave to the relentless pressure, could get ugly. -9 is just a hedge. After this year though, Yates is going to need to step up that recruiting game and bolster the lineup to keep up with the maturing Tigers. Next year may be tricky with Mr Griggs having another year left. But still plenty of talent to go around in H town.

Dates and sites are agreed upon by coaches or coin flips between coaches. UIL has no say in where a team plays. Silsbee and Yates has agreed to play Thursday in Dayton if Silsbee wins tonight. I believe HF and Yates have agreed as well but not certain on site.

I’ve seen both teams. Tigers do have some girls that can play, but if you don’t have REALLY good ball handlers, can consistently beat the press, and a REALLY good 5’10’ on the ball defender, Silsbee won’t come within 30 to this team...
