Speedy recovery for Mrs. AAW.

Remember this game will be broadcast here at SETXsports and Texan Live. I will not be doing play by play for this one. My wife had been in the hospital for 6 days and just got out Wednesday. To be honest with you about that I could see those that are at Png crossing over and going to Port Arthur Memorial in the near future. For example our starting Soph CB #6: he was at Ned previously.

Also, Caddo Mills has just beaten Pleasant Grove.

Crosby has been ranked in the top 5 in the state at some point in the season 3 times over the past five years, ‘15, ‘17 and ‘18. May have gotten to #2 all three years. I’ve never felt we were really worthy of those rankings except ‘18 before Howard tore his ACL. I felt good about Crosby being #10 to start the season and I feel even better about it now based on how the season has played out.

Lindale, setting new heights for the school playoff run, plays Chapel Hill Friday at 7pm. They’ve played once already, Lindale winning 52-6, but Chapel Hill has improved. Playoff scores: Lindale 11-2 defeated Vidor 29-13 Needville 70-56 Chapel Hill 8-4 defeated Livingston 49-37 Stafford 40-14 Probably another high scoring game. I’m taking Lindale and over 75 again.

Texas City's Semaj McCall gets his 5th rushing TD of the day, this one from 21 yards as Texas City leads PNG 53-20 with 8:18 left 3rd quarter. McCall had 13 carries for 291 yards.

Rita leveled Sabine Pass. Trucks bringing furniture to Sabine Pass in a relief effort found themselves surrounded by crowds of people not from SP. Some as far away as Kountze. Police were called and threatened the crowds with possible arrests if they didn’t leave immediately. SP people lost everything. Kountze people may have had power outages and fallen trees, but they didn’t need furniture. Plumb pitiful. I have seen the lines you speak of.

TC has a good run defense, but can’t defend the pass. Bost should have a field day picking apart the secondary as long as the weather isn’t too bad. I don’t think TC can score enough points to win this one even against a suspect PNG defense.

Huffman is better than Hj, also Huffman has the better overall player and coach. Huffman has looked good this year

Crosby went to the semifinals in ‘14. The ‘13 team lost in the second round to Elgin by like 30. Great offense but that team’s defense was borderline awful. In the bi-district game you’re taking about I want to say Crosby was up 42-14 after Walter scored early in the 4th quarter and was pulled. In ‘14 Crosby had probably had the best defense in the entire region, gave up 19ppg with 10 playoff teams on the schedule. Offense was very average for a Crosby team. Kind of negates your whole post. To one of your points though, you’re right about Crosby still rebuilding. Have to give credit to the second year coach who is in prime position to win his first undefeated district championship and run off 10 consecutive victories for only the 2nd time in school history. Not to mention he’s winning this year’s district games by an average of 30+

Don’t forget to mention to who that stephenville coach was to really start a conversation who out coached Burnett. No other than Art Briles. That star qb was Kendall Briles which is the OC at Arkansas. PNG also that year had one of the greatest defensive player in their history at S in the late Derek Gohlke, which basically won the game with that hit against Lamarque. He put fear into those cougars. I’d take that penalty every time if one these current players did that

Everybody is blaming the defense. The PNG offense only scored 7 points until late in the game when we had twos in.

The only thing you mentioned in this statement wrong is PNG most likely finishing 3rd. Top 4 teams win this week then PNG will finish 4th no matter what

Not gonna lie. Good win for a 4a program to beat a 5A team who won the state a couple of years ago. I wish H-F success, but the tell tail sign will be if they can knock off an established program like H-J or a decent Huffman team in district, which I think is very attainable.

It was Livingston that wanted to play all the local teams to spread it around so to say. So we enjoy playing larger schools. We may lose, so be it but the other teams know they have been played. So do the ones our kids beat.
