They will definitely lose to United both times. I think they lose to HJ, Crosby and Stafford mainly because Silsbee will likely still be in football or just coming out of it. (except for HJ, I think Silsbee loses to them with a full squad). I think Silsbee will beat Lake Charles LaGrange.

Agree on the 2016 Carthage vs WO-S. I think WO-S proved to be the better team that year. They were an all time great defense by the numbers. That was a year early for Carthage. That team really overachieved. Had 2 losses, and could have easily lost 4 out of the 6 playoff games. Hell Silsbee should’ve beat them in the 1st round. That was a miracle win for Carthage. But 2017 was a far different story. There is no way to ever prove one way or another, but I truly think 2017 Carthage was the best small school team I have ever seen. I know people like 2016 WO-S, 2014 Gilmer and 2012 Navasota but that Carthage team IMO was better and more well rounded than all of them. They were something to watch. They played some close games, but when they were at the top of their game nobody was better. What they did to Kennedale in the state title game should be illegal. But 2016 WO-S for sure beats 2016 Carthage on paper. But still would like to see what Surratt could’ve done! Haha.

I beg to differ. During that four year run WOS played two Richmond Foster teams that probably hand it to Carthage on a plate. I also think 2016 WO-S beats 2016 Carthage. Correct me if I'm wrong but the polls had WO-S #1 from start to finish. I agree since Surratt (sp) its been top-heavy Carthage but in '16 and maybe '15 I give the edge to WO-S. .

Gilmer got on a little roll in the 2nd half after it was 28-0 at halftime. They are a good team with a really good offense. They have 3-4 stud WR. They have put up numbers similar to WO-S against similar competition. They scored 14 unanswered, and then Carthage composed themselves and scored 14 unanswered to finish out the game. I would assume WO-S has a better D then Gilmer, but it’s hard for me to believe their offense is better. Maybe I am wrong. I’m not here trying to say the Mustangs are a bad team or have no shot, I just think you are reaching for something that is not there. I understand Gilmer had some success on intermediate passes. Obviously you are not going to take away everything from an offense as good as Gilmer. Carthage took away the run and the deep pass. Put Gilmer in a hole and made them beat them with the intermediate passing game. We see the result. A 28 point win.

I beg to differ. I went to see Silsbee in a tournament the year they were was ranked #1 and went into the playoffs undefeated. That's another story. Around the holidays they played in a tournament at the now gone Smiley Hi School. Channel View was there, and so was Yates. I alluded to having seen talented teams with no coaching. That Yates team was one I had in mind. They had height, guards everything. They ran like the wind. They built up a big lead in a game, then fizzled out and lost. This was before they hired Wise. The difference between that team and the teams coached by Wise was like night and day. He put Yates back on the map. That negative stereotype that the all successful black high school coaches just win because they have teams with a lot of talent is a myth. All successful coaches win with talented teams. You have watched too many re runs of the movie Hoosier. It is based on a real team, but they used all kinds of cinema verite, and poetic justice to make that movie. That same mentality is the reason why both the Houston Texans and the Dallas Cowboys are jacked up.

Crouch is the good old boy coach.Every time he talks about a defeat he praises how they gave good effort.Never says what they need to fix.He needs to have a come to jesus talk with those kids and quit pampering them.He needs to start coaching.

I didn’t watch, but my wife watched some of it and when I passed thru the living room to kitchen to make my way to my usual dessert of Texas goodness .......blue bell ........I heard the word “morals” come out of Biden s mouth.... killing babies are your standard of morals. it’s disappointing when half the country is ok with this along with other issues. many of y’all are too naive...... I hope many of you do your own research and study the course of history and learn from it and apply it. We need to raise the standard of Personal responsibility And discipline for all ages as well as all aspects of life.

They do have the mask police. I kept a handful of peanuts in my hand when they came by. We were 20’ from anyone, so no reason to wear one, but always put one on going through the gate or to the restrooms. They left me alone finally cuz I was eating or drinking during their raids in the stands.

QB has not really improved. Deer in headlights look most of the time. Can’t run the ball without the missing linemen.

I agree. I think the team that we had in 2018 was our best in a long time and other than WOS, we went undefeated during the regular season without playing anyone. If Montavien Hunt would have stayed 100% healthy, we would have had a real shot at winning the whole thing. I know the deal with if and buts very well because there's always something with our team, but he was a gamebreaker unlike few that we've ever had in Jasper. WOS knows that from the first meeting when he went nuts on them. WOS was a lot better when we met the second time, so that wouldn't have happened twice, but he would have made a difference.

I predict this game will end with Nederland finishing second, PNG next to last.

Jasper will win 42-7 And the rest of our District game and 2nd in the district. And go 2 rounds in the playoffs 3rd round if we're lucky. But running only 8 to 9 of the same plays with no passing attack. We will be home real soon!!!!😠

The thing that lost the game for GCM, was the fact they went away from that one dimension, PAM did not have an answer for the power/dive/stretch. When the ball was handed off to the RB they were getting 4-7 yards a pop. Pitre had the TD in the 1st, and a few other decent runs, but other than that they were hitting him in the back field Bc they were spying him, and the OL can’t hold the blocks while he’s back there running around. The way you neutralize a defense with stud defensive ends,and speed on the outside, is hitting them with a quick down hill, north and south running game between the tackles, taking them out of the equation. And they did that very successfully, but for some unknown reason, they would try running it outside or throw it down field, just Bc it was 3rd down, resulting in numerous 4th and shorts which led to punts. PAM is a damn good team, and won the game, GCM play calling, lost them the game.

It's almost like if you can stop #12 you make the OC scrape any gameplan that he has.
