Once again like the last year or two, there is the big calls for a qb change. The thing is you have a qb that has been to 2 straight state semi finals. He has proven himself to be a winner. He starts off slow each year but gets better. He just faced a team that has been to 3 straight state championships winning 2 of them. Tuff to replace a guy in a case like that. With that said, his passing game has never been that impressive overall. Accuracy overall has been questionable. His strength has been his receivers honestly. The past couple years he has had a receiver or two that he could throw the ball up and trust to go get it. This year noone appears to be able to step into that position. Several missed opportunities either drops or bad throws. Maybe a returning Gilder can step into that role. I do like what I have seen from Brisbane and would definitely like to see him get his chance. Especially if our passing game is going nowhere. He definitely throw a better ball.

Watching the game tonight really makes me wonder sometimes. Ik everyone wants there team to win every game. But sometimes a loss is just as gud as a win.take Silsbee for instance the last 2 yrs the loss to wo has prepared them for long playoff runs. Me personally ik everyone wants a QB change.i can't see it. Ik the kid isn't making every throw that everyone wants.but sometimes play calling hurts him more than anything.so everyone sees the flaws and not the gud. For instance tonite the score.it wasnt that bad if ppl truly watched the game.first off the biggest difference that really was the determining factor was field position.in the first half the whole half they started drives from inside there 20. And on a couple plays penalties hurt them.but the biggest difference in the game Silsbee didn't catch the ball on the return.they dropped 4 of them. PG didn't dominate them.every team has things to clean up. Im sorry but the QB takes too much heat for play calling at times.why not run a combination route with 2 wr or more quick outs or stop routes. With every team u have to play to each kid strength. And not call a play bcz u think u have a one on one matchup u think u might win. I said it last yr and ima said it again whenever this team season comes to an end it want be bcz the qb blew game it will be bcz another team made one more play than them.

I counted 23 for newton. They came out 2nd half with their heads hanging. They'll be ok once they start playing their division. WOS is for real.

As you know, Victory Parties over a Pirate win are pretty scarce. Really something to have two in a row. I was afraid these kids would “play-down” to 4A instead of taking advantage of it. Guess I was wrong. Our new offense has been very generous in giving the ball back, but despite that, they come back and score, & the D does it’s job. I won’t lead you astray, Jasper, in Jasper, will be the best we play until playoff time. Smart money probably has Jasper, but sounds like this group of Pirates won’t fold. Going to be a good game. I would pick Vidor by an XP, but our kicking not quite there yet. So maybe we hit a close (very close, lol) FG & win by three. Out of heart meds. Might be required to use an old remedy next Friday - Crown Royal. 😂😂😂 PS; in all seriousness, I’ll really be surprised if either team wins by more that a TD.

I would like to see Dodd more in the backfield. It’s evident they have several RB if given the chance to compete could be beneficial to the team. Miller is a good kid but putting him over the other RB on team is a bad move.

The '02 game Tarkington won 7-0. We felt like we had won the Super Bowl. Was our only win that year.

Incorrect, it hasn't happened often, but this is at least the second time and possibly third, that Tarkington has beaten the Trojans, I believe the last coming in '02. Great win for the Horns, who needed a good showing after the tough loss last week. Coldspring will be just fine and make a playoff run, best of luck the rest of the way.

Yeah that kid in the open field is scary. He’s got some wheels but his wiggle and elusiveness is something to watch. When he hit the air brakes and was immediately back wide open on that punt return I’m pretty sure i sprained my ankle sitting in the stands 😂😂
