Nederland needs to get a full “ant” mascot costume and have the mascot walk around on the BH sideline, cheering on the team like it is supposed to be there.

It's been refreshing in the last week to see this story and the story of the Smith kid that worked at the hotel in Beaumont during Imelda and stayed for 30+ hours by himself tending to the guests. Not enough of those kind of stories going around about young black men.

I’d make sure the basketball coach hasn’t started airing up the balls just yet. Anahuac wants to go 2-0 to give them a potential leg up on a playoff spot. Like numerous districts across the Lone Star State, the final week will determine who’s in and who’s out. Good Luck to both teams.

Not knocking any teams, but Buna beat Cleveland and Hemphill for their 2 wins. I’m not real sure that’s a great start. In their defense, Buna is a young team and have several players out with injuries. What’s most important is they are 0-1 in district play and can’t afford to go 0-2. Looks to me that Anahuac’s offense got rolling last week and is starting to click. Games are won upfront. We’ll see who wins the battle between the OL and DL for each team. The coaches upfront will earn their money tonight.

Yep. We haven't had many teams that are built to rally in games. The turnover battle is gonna be huge.

I don't know that the o-line is as good as it was last year either. We're gonna have to run it well to win and we're capable with several guys that can break one, but it won't be like it was in Jasper last year. Hunt had over 350 that night and I think that was a school record.

If Buna falls behind they will be in trouble because of the ball/ clock control offense they run. My guess is Anahuac won’t run straight into the teeth of their strength at tackle. Ashly Elam with 12 News just put out his weekly numbers for the area. I previously mentioned what WB and BU score and give up a game but I didn't know that WB had the highest scoring average (45) in the 409 while BU has the stingiest defense (7) in the 409. BU also has the 3rd highest scoring differential (how much they beat their opponents by) at 27 points in the area. WB wasn't mentioned on that list. Something is going to give come Friday night...
