Geez, can anyone come up with a less lazy reason than “the coaching is bad”?…heres reality, Nederland is in a period where the talent pool is down a bit…this is no more Coach Rich’s fault than it was Coach Barrows…i told everyone when they were begging for Barrow to go that they could bring Vince Lombardi down from heaven and not have huge success…it is also true that Nederland is fighting the numbers game a bit now as they are falling in the lower enrollment levels of 5a…thats a real issue and it can be overcome but it will take time to build a program that can compete with lower numbers…they also need the talent…it sounds like the numbers of kids participating and the talent level should improve over the next couple of years…lets give Coach Rich the opportunity to see what they can do with that group before we rush to judgement…i have faith that things will be brighter in the coming seasons

I am the eternal optimist. Until my team is mathematically eliminated, they are making the playoffs, and winning the Super Bowl. If one doesn’t believe their team can win it all, why watch? I watch the games and see what happens. Does it make me happy? No!! One thing I never forget is that there is another team on that field trying to win the game also. They are as big, strong, and fast as the players I have. Sometimes the ball bounces your way, sometimes not. I think the AZ QB played one helluva game. He stood tall in the pocket and delivered with authority. Some plays are indefensible because they are executed perfectly. Bland blew some coverages, that’s for sure. Dallas forgets the basics….blocking and tackling. 40 yard completions downfield are a product of no QB pressure. Williams will give that extra push we need. No team has an all pro at every position, and even if they did, there is no guarantee of victory because that other team is hungry too. It’s why we watch.

I see the point of intangibles that most recruiters look for. But just cuz a kid can run fast or weighs 300 lbs doesnt exactly mean they dont need instruction. 4.1 speed that cant catch, who teaches him? Or they dont and they just hand him the ball. Or put him at QB and say make a play. Thats what bad coaching does. Good coaching will make sure he's able to be a productive member of the team. Society too

Baddog, who is Dallas trading for on the OL to protect Prescott and who are they trading to get someone in the secondary that can cover( as of now I’m not so sure they can cover a stationary orange cone that you use for drills) Hopefully the 2 you mentioned will help the DL and LB’er positions If they don’t improve immediately, I look for 5 or 6 wins at the max It appears as I watch them play that they don’t care whether they win or lose!

Both are very solid players. Those 2 will improve the defense dramatically. Like my Longhorns, we need to win out. It can be done. The possibility is there.

I really didn't think it was possible to be this delusional about anything, much less a high school football program. Please tell anyone reading this post how do you " Coach " someone with no athletic abilities, into being a division 1 or 5 star athlete???? Last I checked speed, athleticism, agility, jumping abilities, hand eye coordination, none of those things can be " instilled " in a player by a Coach. There have been numerous players that have played Division 1 athletics and literally didn't play the sport in high school, much less be coached into being able to play. Their athletic abilities made it possible not any Coach.
