I’m trying to stay positive. I think Toby will do good there. Just an early prediction I honestly don’t know what Shepard brings back but Jasper usually has athletes if they stay discipline maybe they can win some ball games.

Congrats Jasper and congrats to Coach Foreman. I have been hoping he could work his way back into SETX eventually, so I am happy to hear this.

Shepherd bringing back 18 Jr starters with potentially 3 D1 players on the DL. Shepherd going to be a tough out for everyone. Going to be rough in 2027 after they all graduate.

I do expect Jasper to be better and to round back into normal Jasper form next year.

I think Sheperd and HF have a nice close game for 3rd and 4th next season, although that remains to be seen. Those 18 junior starters didn't compete with any of the top-3 this past season. 18 senior starters is better than 18 junior starters, but is it enough to bridge the gap if the other teams don't drop back? If HF has a drop-off next season it shouldn't be much. Waggoner has that program set up to make the playoffs every year, and they've got the qb to do it. He was very good last year. If HF can find a decent line he's going to be elite the next two years.

Several of the main ones didn’t play against HF and Silsbee. Had several JV playing their first varsity snaps as starters against Silsbee. I would not read too much into those games.

Just kind of curious, when somebody in media, or in the know hears something that's undoubtedly true, what's the purpose of keeping it quiet? i'm just wondering if there's any benefit to withholding information in 2026.  Like, example.....the same people that told you, please dont say anything, also felt it was necessary to tell many others the same thing, KNOWING darn well that those entities would not keep it quiet.  you'd think that in todays day and age, if you didnt want somebody to know something, you just wouldnt tell a soul.  guess that happens.......well....almost never.

For me personally, because I was asked to keep quiet by the two parties involved. It's about keeping good relationships. 

I learned of the hire last week. Was asked to not release the news until Coach Foreman could inform his players. I don't think that's too much to ask.

I have always tried to do what the coach has asked in those type situations. 

Can't speak for other media entities. 

If you notice, KJAS has no direct quotes from either party. Meaning they hadn't spoken with Coach Foreman or Jasper supt.

1) its about keeping your word, if someone asks you to do something and you agree...be a man of your word...a great man once said "A man's gotta have a code"

2) We are dealing with HS kids, my code is allow the adult who works with these kids to tell the kids himself the news...the kids deserve to hear it from the adults who made the decision. 

3) It's about building relationships, in this case I could have easily broken the news last week, but I'd burn a Coach...and coaches talk..."Can't trust Stepp, he doesnt keep his word" then I won't break anything....take the L here to break ten more stories later..chess not checkers

I haven't been told who but understood that he was going to be able to bring a few in.

Is there a standard of qualifications required for coaching? I think masters is for AD but what about the assistants.

I’m not going to mention names. But from what I was told they have coached at the Blue and Silver

As for as Jasper, you may be right about no success.  That's if they don't hire a good coach.  My advise -- stay away from home cooking.  Didn't work out to good for them this past time.
