That’s wild when put like that.

Somewhere, I remember seeing 2240 tossed out as 5AD1/6A cutoff recently. Just someone else guessing, and I don’t remember where I saw it.

Some schools from Dallas Morning News that are noted.

This is the hidden content, please

Says official cutoff numbers will be released next week.

Im biased but that wouldn't be a battle at all. Lol thats why they play(ed) up with us.

It’s not a good insult to say “BC took the easy way out by opting up to whip our tails and go three rounds.”

Bridge city would be the largest if that shapes out?

We’ve been back and forth between D1 and D2 a few times. Truth be told, we’re a better fit as a school in D1. Our band and drill team are bigger than most D1 schools, plus we travel well.

We’ll be fine wherever we end up.

In terms of the 5AD1 districts covered here, if 6A cutoff is somehow actually 2200 like some people have been speculating, and if 5AD2 numbers remain somewhat the same then the only school remaining in CURRENT 11-5A is Friendswood, and in 9-5A (again, CURRENT) would be BU, Ball, Lufkin, PAM, leaving it mostly the same

(LP, Angleton, Crosby, Pasadena, WB, BH, Sterling being >2200 and KP, Porter, Kempner being <1900)

BC had a good year, no one is saying they didn’t.
But the facts are that they ran from WOS, Silsbee, and HF. If travel was the reason they gave to UIL then they lied to them.
Also they lost to the same team that Beat LCM in the playoffs. And LCM beat BC.
Maybe they won’t run from the district they are supposed to play in again. If BC gets put in 4a  D11 again they will be biggest in their district.  Should be able to beat those other teams since they are such a powerhouse and have more kids.

Very obvious why each of the three schools "opt up" and it is common knowledge that they are fleeing for an easier pathway. They acknowledge it openly and it makes a mockery of the process.

I personally am predicting the 6A cutoff number to be 2220

I don’t know how true it is, so I won’t name the source, but I heard the 6A number is going to be 2275 and above.

without discussing specific schools, I believe that any school in the state that opts up for football should have to opt up in all sports. Since "travel" is the issue, that's an issue for all sports, not just one. It would be fun watching the administration then try and explain to the community why opting up for an easier football district is worth the majority of the other sports programs suffering.

Barbers Hill                 2309

They are headed to 6A

If DCTF predictions are correct they're going to be a very polarized district. I think they can make the playoffs, though. Just might take a couple of 50-pt beatdowns along the way.

2275 was the exact number for last realignment that created a 6A with 247 schools. Most people are predicting a drop in the cutoff to keep 6A with a similar amount of schools.

I believe a 2275 cutoff with current enrollments would only have 221 schools, plus 7 opt ups. So 228.

No opting up in within a classification. You want to move up....you add an A!
