So when you have 8 in the box and one 6 lineman and HB to block for the RB you leave 2 players completely unblocked nearly every single play. High school coaches struggle to come up with ways to off set this. And our offensive coordinator and staff definitely struggled last week to come up with anything that worked. Go back and watch the 2023 state game against SOC and see how we schemed against them and hit repeatedly. We ran with a Sophomore QB option plays to the outside edge of the line of scrimmage which aided the inside trap plays, we ran wide receiver screens, crossing routes to receivers, screens to the RB and threw over the top to stretch the field and make the defense make plays 1 on 1 and we had success. Ashworth has athleticism use it this week because if our offense plays like it did against MH we will not advance past this game. And use the HB in the offense they rarely get covered because we never throw the ball to them. Run some RPO plays and hit the HB IN between the line of scrimmage and the safety when they are blitzing their LB on every play it’s wide open. Their is no help in the zone that they will receive the pass in and it’s a quick pass that can devestate a defensive. Our CB have to not let WR get behind them we have given up to many big plays the last couple of weeks and don’t need to. Our run defense has been very good all year but they have to make plays and get off the field and not let SOC have 10 -12 play drives that wear us down. Offensively control the clock be aggressive against their pressure and don’t be afraid to take chances down the field . Special teams will play a huge part in this game and the crowd needs to bring energy that the players feed off of. SOC is #1 because they earned it but they was #1 every time we have played them . Looking for a great game and atmosphere for high school football and praying that neither team comes out of it with any injuries because we have had way more than our share of injuries this season. Good luck to both teams and let the best team win. This is the best post I’ve seen. Bravo 👏. If you see it, I see it, other fans see it, hopefully the OC sees it. outanup 1

Open enrollment and gloves are legitimate gripes i think the UIL will address those issues eventually...PN-G has a couple of offensive lineman coming back in addition to what you mentioned and that's not including the defense PN-G will be good again next year CS. and LHJJ05 2

If you looked at the scoreboard of the state championship game in 2023 you wouldn't have thought PN-G did much offensively but it was a master class of offensive genius with the scheme you mentioned it was just much harder to get scores down inside the 20 because the safeties for SOC were able to play closer to the LOS Terrell had this same issue last week CS., Darth Texas and badndn 3

Offense will have: QB - Ashworth RB - Henry WR - Gohlke, Jackson, Benkert HB - Romero, Hansing OL - Reeves, Mattney Defense will have: DL - Trevino, Faul OLB - Satcher, Flores, Phelps ILB - P.A. Ross CB - Malveaux S - McLeod, Valcin

You guys (I love your stuff, no kidding) but you promote and glorify teams along with the UIL who gain advantages. Everyone knows what's coming and it's extremely difficult to compete with it. And somehow it's "racist" to bring up recruiting? Still haven't figured that one out. It is what it is man. The rules are there that allow it currently but it doesn't impress me. They have the most transfers in the state. That should not be allowed OR the school should be able to do it if they move up to a much higher classification. It's common sense to most but not all for some reason. Crown them. We are still coming, and we are bringing hell with us. Lamar1996, LHJJ05, jayhawk and 8 others 9 1 1

JMO but I dont like any public school thats open enrollment, but when the charters came in and the political parties and politicians at the time wanted this system probably because it lined their pockets...but once charters etc came into being the UIL was left IMO with antiquated rules that dont apply into today's world...but thats another topic for another day... Just found it interesting how much more talk PNG-SOC had last year vs this year, even on the Dallas-centric forums....maybe folks are getting PNG-SOC fatigue....I said it on TepAndStepp I think it's a much more competitive game this year.... Except that PNG has some key injuries, a Soph QB (although very talented, apparently), and SOC is stacked. I do believe that PNG will hold their own better than last season; and who knows, anything can happen. Anyway, tomorrow is game time, so we will all see. Today the special teams for both are probably getting some extra work, and the receivers are running routes.
