NO one sticks to the topic at hand. Someone posts something and then it turns into a war of words or a war of memes. Have your two seconds, then go on about your business. There are bigger things to live for than politics. If politics is that much a part of your life, then you need to step back and reprioritize.

It's a crying shame that we/us as a nation, live and die on every word one man says. What happened to loving your neighbor, minding your own business, and living life?? I beg to differ. I graduated from Vidor in the 90s. I was in school and played when Vidor had the pleasure of playing North Shore, WB, Central, LaPorte, the Baytown schools, etc... and we did not avoid the program. The sidelines were packed with players. We looked forward to two-a-days, we looked forward to Friday night lights. Also, had the pleasure of playing for Vidor in its first year in 4A (20-4A). Again, the sidelines were packed with players. Never mattered to us if we went 0-10 or 5-5... we packed the sidelines with players. So, to me the decline in players is due to current coaching. Players want something new. They are tired of the same old offense. They want to be able to throw and catch. They want to be excited. The late, great Dan Hooks once said... You'll know when you're done playing Vidor because they'll hit you in the mouth for 48 minutes.... That was said back in the 90s.

Exactly. A coach needs his players, and his players need a coach. You CANNOT be successful without each other... You CANNOT sustain success without each other.

Just stop because you know damn good and well that PNG's staff, Carthage's staff, is not rolling into Vidor and winning WITHOUT the help of Jimmy's and Joe's transferring in.

Not the players huh?!?! So, when Vidor was playing against players like James Brown, Leeland McElroy, Tiki Hardeman, Adam Dunn, Clint Stoerner and a ton of other players... Vidor had a chance if they had better coaching?!?! Or when Vidor's heaviest offensive lineman is 200lbs playing across from D-lineman that avg. 250... not the players, huh? Or when Vidor's fastest player runs a high 4.7 and their opponent has multiple players run 4.6 or better... not the player's, huh? Better coaching would have those players running faster and putting on more weight and would of had them competing against players who had great high school, college, and pro careers, huh?!?!

Sorry about that... it was not directed at you. I should not have quoted you. That was more or less a post for people who think they know everything about Vidor because they read a stat line or look up some historical data.

I've watched Vidor football for almost 40 years. Played for Vidor (in the 90s) during the 5A days and was lucky enough to experience the drop down to 4A. I've seen the good, the bad, and the ugly of Vidor football. I've seen Vidor outmatched talent-wise and outcoached. I've seen Vidor beat teams that they shouldn't have beaten, and I've seen Vidor lose to teams that they should have beaten by 3+ scores. I've seen Vidor with size on the OL & DL, I've seen Vidor with fast skill position players and not so fast skill position players, I've seen Vidor QBs throw for over a 1,000 yards (was lucky enough to play for a QB that threw for over a 1,000), and I've seen Vidor QBs not even come close to throwing for a couple, few hundred yards. But one thing that Vidor has always been great at is playing with passion, determination, and fearlessness. Just about every Friday night, it's Vidor against everyone... the team they are playing, their fans, or casual posters on a message forum. And to those people who watch Vidor once a year or once every couple of years and they know any and everything about Vidor football... you can ! And to those who think just because they coach know more about Vidor and Vidor football... you can politely too!!!! GO Pirates... It's ALWAYS a great day to be a Pirates!

Vidor has a good set of skilled positions coming back from last year. Most will be juniors this upcoming season. That is IF they play football and do not focus solely on baseball.

I graduated high school wasted a couple of years going to Lamar cause I had NO idea what I wanted to do.... so, I started framing houses and then worked for North Star Steel. Both of those jobs had me back at Lamar pretty quick lol.

Lamar is extremely affordable when you start looking at other universities in Texas that have good/great engineering program and no not many international students when I was at LU... at least not in the industrial engineering program. For what it's worth, I think that if you are majoring in engineering, you should have at least 5 years of work experience before being able to graduate. That way you have some real world work experience to go along with the book(s).

I work with a bunch of engineers that graduated from LU. When I was at LU (late 90s/early 2000s) most of my classmates (industrial engineering major) where from the US.

I most certainly do vote... but before I vote I do my own research. I shy away from mainstream media (FOX, CNN, etc.) and I do not listen to mainstream reports. I don't need memes or snippets to try and sway my vote. I'll look for websites that I think and feel give me the best example of a candidate(s). And when I'm in the voting booth I am not thinking about public interest, I'm thinking about the research I've done and the candidate(s) that is most closely aligned with my morals, thoughts, and wants.
