  1. I might have brought this up in this forum before but it is a situation I was involved with in the aftermath of Hurricane/Tropical Storm Harvey. We had an injured prisoner in custody and we were investigating how he was injured. The emergency room doctor was preparing transportation to another hospital because of the prisoner’s medical condition. That was an issue because he was in custody for a felony. All we needed for our record was, why was he being taken from our custody. It did not need to be a detailed breakdown of the prisoner’s medical records, treatment, prognosis, etc., but simply an answer of what was wrong. Did he have a broken bone, did he have a serious illness, etc.? I was a lieutenant and the ranking commander at the time. The emergency room doctor simply refused to tell us what was happening because he thought it was a HIPAA violation. So the supervisor on scene at the hospital who is also a lieutenant, called me while I was at the police station. I already had the answer saved on my desktop at my work computer and printed it off. When I got to the hospital I introduced myself to the doctor and ask if we could talk in private for a moment. He said sure and we went into an unoccupied treatment room. I told him that we needed to know why we were releasing the prisoner and all we needed was a brief description like I discussed before. I told him do not answer until I gave you some information because I know you were concerned about privacy. I then asked him a question something like ….. Is all you know about HIPAA from about a one day class in medical school were all they said was HIPAA HIPAA HIPAA, you’ll be sued and go to jail. I thought it was a funny question but he said, yes that was about it. So I gave him about a 10 second version of the law verbally but then showed him the federal government response on the document I had. You could see that it came from the Health and Human Services website. I told the doctor please read this information and make your own decision. About 30 seconds later he told me the answer…. then he asked if he could keep the document I gave him. Absolutely. The doctor thanked me in a very sincere way. He told me that he was scared about violating the HIPAA law (which he should be) and he had policeman in his face telling him that he had to give the information. The poor guy did not know which way to turn. I walked out from the room and went to the other officers and told them the answer. My whole interaction with the doctor probably lasted less than two minutes. The other Lieutenant was kind of like, what the heck? We were telling him for about half an hour that he had to blah blah blah… I said yeah, that was the problem. I just walked in, smiled and showed him the law and let him make the decision and it was almost immediate. The point is that HIPAA is between doctors and their patients’ privacy but even then there are some exceptions. Talking about a person’s medical condition is not a violation of the law unless it is with a person involved in healthcare. Even then there are certain limited circumstances where you can get medical information without the person’s consent, mostly through law enforcement investigations.
  2. Ppl talk **** til they team get they arse whipped 3rd week. Good luck to errbody. Hello monday.
  3. I think it is a HIPAA violation to ask what vaccine someone has taken. I know that is completely false but I love reading that on various forums. I like the comments such as, if your employer asks you to take the vaccine, he is violating HIPAA and you can sue. That has to be the most misunderstood law ever and people draw it like a gun. “You can’t talk about that!! HIPAA!!”
  4. I ve had COVID 3 times. My body did it’s job.....why cause I didn’t cover my face up with some pathetic mask that some cdc government guy tells u to wear. now I will say the 3rd time I ended up getting pneumonia in which I had to get some meds for. If your worried about your health then stay home, buy a hazmat suit, get the vaccine if it eases ur mind, move to an island. it’s funny how liberals will scream “my body my choice “ when talking about murdering babies but when we talk about the vaccine people shouldn’t get a choice.,,,,,bunch of hypocrites
  5. If someone can’t tell that cnn is democrats version of news and fox is the republicans version of news. That someone is seriously lacking intelligence. The news is always somewhere in the middle. Both fox and cnn do provide good journalism. But that gets overshadowed by the opinion show people who get air time to voice opinions not news. News today is always agenda driven. They can only talk about What the ad people will allow them to. So what you hear is what Coca Cola, Koch Etc. Allows you to hear.
  6. Guys I know times have changed but what ever happened to the Friday night Smack Attack on News Talk 560 klvi that was definitely the most fun on Friday night after the games were over I really miss those days I wished they could bring it back.
  7. You seem scared of trump.......I mean, you comment on every post he is associated with.....I think you think he can win..... I think Harris will run in 24, I'm not constantly posting about her or commenting every time she is mentioned.....because she does not have a chance to win......she is no threat, therefore no need to talk about.....
  8. Nah, not anymore from me, that went away after we stopped playing each other. I do miss the ole 21-6A days. Some epic trash talk back then.
  9. Yes!!!! Me and @BMTSoulja1 talk about this very often. 😁
  10. A talk with Sam Pittman and his relationship with linebackers coach Michael Scherer helped linebacker Jordan Crook’s decision to commit to the Razorbacks on Saturday: [Hidden Content]
  11. My 93 (94? 95?) year old Mother in Law is coming Monday from Georgia to spend seven days. Talk about Hell Week. She lives with my well off Liberal Sister in Law, who’s a Liberal . She’s been inundated with CNN 🐂💩 and I’ll spend all week trying to explain to her what’s actually going on. Keep me in your thoughts.... 😂😂😂
  12. As an employee of Sheffield Productions, I am very excited by this season's webcasts of the Nederland Bulldogs. Our vision is to showcase the students and communities of both schools at the game. We have reached out to the school districts and chambers of commerce of the Bulldogs' opponents offering free time to show videos and promotions. Remember how ABC used to televise the big college football game on Saturdays? Each university had a powerful promotional segment. That's the style we'd like to emulate with our Friday Night Experience. I'd love to again hear the legendary Keith Jackson talk about "Texas and Alabama..."
  13. Any of those committees are a complete waste of time and taxpayer money. The politicians like to hear themselves talk, pat each other on the back and what will happen? Well - at the end of the day those that did that on January 6th will still be charged and have to face the music for decisions they made. Remember all of the Russian Collusion hearings - nothing happened but wasting money.
  14. So, just ignore the facts concerning the creation of the FHA and GI bill, which systematically discriminated against black citizens and veterans with their various red lining strategies? The deed covenants that forbid resales of homes in many developments to “ non Caucasian” individuals? The greatest contributor to middle class wealth accumulation in our history was denied the African American community until after the Don’t talk about it and it’ll go away? I don’t think so.
  15. I’m still around….Not much to talk about so far. I really like Coach McGuire, and the kids are responding positively. Looking forward to the season.
  16. I think you have a personal problem with Coach Davis. Nobody said he’s the best coach in the area but if underachieving is wining 20 game and making the playoffs ever year that’s crazy. That’s tuff to do at any school. Give credit where credit is due no matter what think of the dude. We are beating a dead horse so let just move on. Who we gonna talk about next?
  17. Forget the money, I want to see the rivalries of old renewed. It's insane that UT-A&M and UT-Arky don't play every year. It's crazy that aggy and ou don't play every year. This is a massive disservice to the institutions, players and us as fans. I miss the real trash talk and bragging rights. I want this to happen. But I'm a selfish a-hole so what do I know. I did talk to a few Bama and lsu buddies today and they're pissed for obvious reasons. They know if this happens, the recruiting advantage is diminished pretty quick like.
  18. ….and you talk about other people’s mindset. This has got to be the biggest load of poo poo I have ever heard. Notice the victim mentality? Everything he does is someone else’s fault……bravo.
  19. He’s also had to coach in the era where 4A has become a big city classification, with all of these houston and Dallas schools somehow fielding 4A squads. Not to mention the insane talent silsbee has put out. It’s kind of funny that you talk about the talent he inherited, but want to give Mitchell full credit for making the playoffs 3 years in a row with a D1 player (something I’m not positive Davis has ever had, except for a couple of seasons with Parquet).
  20. Nobody brought that up in 2019 after that start yall had, funny it came to be talk again after the WB loss, plus there was friction within that staff, oh wait a minute: there was friction within the new staff last season too. So um: which version of United we gonna see this year, Central version or Ozen version? 🧐
  21. So, sorry it took so long to get back to this. This one is really multifaceted, but yes, sex sells. Most of these women, to quote @PAMFAM10are eye candy. They are not being hired because it’s the “right thing to do” (which I’m not sold that it is), they’re hired because the largest demographic is a group of testosterone filled, sexy women loving, American males (of all colors) who like to look at these women. They are virtually no different than the ring girls at a boxing match other than they get to talk and get to be fully clothed (form fitting and sexy please). There are a few exceptions (did someone say Michelle Tafoya), but she’s not in the majority. Honestly, I’d rather have a guy that played the game, that understands what it’s like to have your ribs broken as a TE when getting hung out to dry on a drag across the middle to pick up 4 yards for a 1st down. It’s not a gender thing. It’s not a racial thing. It’s “who is best qualified to convey that play” thing. Just like I wouldn’t want Troy and Joe calling a Women’s softball championship. So here we are in the world of commercial wokism. Coca Cola could give a rat’s arse about racial equality or equity. But right now that sells. ESPN decides to join in along with all the others and promote racial equality…only because they think it will help their brand and their bottom line. Where were these people even 10 years ago? Well, it wasn’t selling 10 years ago. And if it’s not selling 10 years from now, you won’t see it then either. Finally, by forcing this so-called “equality/equity”, these companies are turning blacks into a side show. It’s wrong and for the wrong reason. I love listening to players (like Charles Barkley), who played the game, commentating an NBA game. Not because they’re black or white or male, but because they’re the best ones to do it.
  22. Well all that talk may not matter. Haven't heard that Buckner was taking the job. As of today it's still open. Along with head baseball, Jh/elem principal, and HS principal. So they still only have 3 boys coaches on staff.
  23. The REAL definition is simply a female named Karen...it's the racist crowd that gave it new meaning. Oh look, she's mad about something, she must be a white privileged female. You got no room to talk about others being racist when you throw that crap out.
