  1. It is like talking in the phone while driving. You can talk to a person in the car with you and be perfectly aware of your surroundings. Talking on the phone changes that dynamic. Even on a classic landline phone, watch people‘s eyes while they are talking. They might be staring up in space or looking straight ahead but not seeing anything. Once you have that phone in your hand, it becomes about 90% of your concentration point. People riding in golf carts, ATVs, etc. are driving on a roadway as if they were driving on a golf course or in someone’s yard. They simply are not paying as much attention. Bicycles on the other hand, are almost exclusively ridden on the road and you know that if you’re riding in the middle of the roadway, particularly at an intersection, you were facing danger. Even children perceive that. It is not that they cannot make mistakes and obviously children get killed on bicycles but they are aware that they are not a motor vehicle. There are probably 500 times more bicycles with children on the roads (at least) than there are children driving golf carts and ATVs on the road yet what are the likelihood of making a bad mistake with one compared to the other? Even with hundreds of more times kids on bicycles, how many times do we hear serious injuries on them as compared to one of the “toy” vehicles? Like talking on the phone even when sitting at a desk, in my opinion it is the mindset of the person and not whether one is inherently more dangerous than the other. With your example of driving a car on the road before you have a license, even 14 years old is well aware of the difference of a car and a bicycle. I just think that children driving ATVs and golf carts are not thinking the same way they would when with driving a car. Those off road vehicles are just a bicycle by other means.
  2. 3rds??????? have u not kept up the past three years??? had strong teams like this only to be sitting at home after one playoff game, but i can't talk abut that....yet smh
  3. Please refrain from any political talk here. There is a section for that at the bottom of the forum.
  4. My post was about FOOTBALL because this is a FOOTBALL message board. It doesn't matter what I was talk about as long as it within the rules and about football. Everybody sees you for the idiot you are. You have the most posts in a CROSBY thread and NONE of them have ANYTHING to do with football. **Removed for violating site rules**
  5. Crosby is the subject of BH’s highlight videos, tweets from the head coach and general conversation. There must have been at least five BH fans that walked up to me and my sons to say something about the Crosby game they either attended or watched on TV. People talk about Crosby in other threads also. We just haven’t been bottom feeders in recent years so we understand it comes with the territory.
  6. If you have a team - any team - say North Shore - and they aren’t blocking & tackling, will changing their offense help? This isn’t a trick question. The team I saw against Silsbee wasn’t blocking or tackling. The Spread, Slot T, Wishbone, I formation- doesn’t matter. Now I’m no Coach or a football guru, so if I’m wrong, please point out where I’ve gone astray. If NS can win not doing those two things, please explain how. Once Vidor starts doing those two things & they’re still getting beat, then we can talk about which offense they ought to use.
  7. We all know what's wrong with nederland. A lot of talented kids quit football because they're a bunch of spoiled daddy ballers and didn't like the coaches and think they're gonna be top MLB prospects. And they campaigned to get OTHER football players to quit. Talk about the coaches all you want, but it's THE KIDS who have to play football.
  8. Well please elaborate? I know our talk on this forum want change nothing but I am always curious to hear new ideas and changes.
  9. People talk noise on here non stop.. I am just being honest about the team this year. They lost like 20 seniors and have hardly any returning starters. Does not mean they arent good kids
  10. Great game both teams. LCM got something special going on over there. WOS shouldn't have struggled and made so many mistakes. In the end it was our defense that stopped them. All the talk about qb. They want to develope qbs. They want to run spread. They want the qb with seniority to continue to lead this team. He made outstanding plays tonight and missed on some sure TDs. Overall if WOS can clean up the mess and the confusion. They dominate all the way to Dallas.
  11. Ok, just finished. Silsbee offense - The have some players. Their line didn't show a lot of dominance but I don't think they needed to. #1 out of the backfield with that I formation is nice. They block it up well and huge holes. Passing was good but those deep rainbow passes are going to be risky against that Huffman safety. Team so far revolves around #4, #1, and #40. Going to be tough trying to stop all 3. #16 is strong too. Nothing to talk about after middle of the 3rd. I think it was subs in for offense. Silsbee defense - Hard to take anything away from the game so far. The defense for Vidor will always be custom made. Silsbee schemed it perfectly: Flow D-line hard slants to heavy side. LBs to follow motion / move up to replace D-Lineman. Boxing ends. Vidor Defense - Hagar, I feel you. This was tough to watch. On almost every Silsbee gain, 3-4 Vidor players got their hands on the ball carrier. And not like the Silsbee player was high stepping out of tackles, All he had to do was not stop or trip. DB's were tripping and running into each other. They are not pursuing the ball. Probably why they keep missing tackles Vidor Offense - When the linemen could get to the LBs, they were productive. If you go back at look at Vidor's formation. When they are balanced without motion, the D-Line goes to base and the blocking assignments get simple. Vidor linemen at least get to the 2nd level and the ball can move. The LB's lost their keys and had to read before attacking. Lots of missed blocks for backs and pullers. Matchup with Huffman - The Huffman defense should have a better game against Silsbee than what Vidor brought last week. But, if the tackling from Huffman does not get better than against Spring Legacy, Silsbee is going to put up a lot. Falcon offense is better at moving the ball. But the key is still about blocking those inside LBs. I don't think Huffman can work outside without getting good performance from the inside. Silsbee LBs are too fast and physical. Score Prediction - I ain't doing it....I've got a feeling...Naw....I ain't doing it.
  12. Just let them talk. Come November they’ll still be hoping and we’ll still be expecting.
  13. Is your band needing donations to get to competition this year or did your crooked school district figure out how to count crooked numbers yet so they can keep school staff. Maybe those people that make $800k a year that allow you to talk them can throw a few duckets to the school district to help out the chilren.

  15. Surprised at how little "talk" this game is getting. EC is a "mystery" ths year. Only one scrimmage and not much other than a "score" report from it on this site and a lopsided game against an opponent they have thoroughly dominated in scrimmages over the past years. No prediction here and again just find the lack of discussion a bit unusual.
  16. Can we please leave the clown talk out of this? Lol that bojo guy took the Friday night lights movie too seriously lol
  17. I don't, your reference to January 6 that he incited an insurrection is complete garbage. As far as the election fraud, I've moved on from that...strange that the states flipped during the night, but whatever. Once again, you referring to him as the Messiah reflects on your being absolutely ate up with the guy, you just can't let go. You complain about what he said about Cruz's wife and no reasonable folks like that, but I sure wouldn't put those feelings over what we have in the White House now. I have heard you talk about Bill Clinton in an admiring way in the past and you can actually try and take the high road on morality. Clinton was the most morally debased President we have ever had, and you seem to be able to ignore that because you claimed he could reach across the aisle, when he was actually dragged by Newt. That Clinton is your Messiah screams of your hypocrisy.
  18. Jones with a WAY better arm. O-line was the talk of my post game talk. They worked their butts off last night. The passing game is going to be fun to watch. The wr's had drops but they are scary. Who do you cover?
  19. Looked like a pretty small team too, in size and numbers. I didn’t see any running backs that impressed me, no broken tackles or big runs. Bad formula and all around bad showing. Maybe the coaches can mix up the personnel but now I see why there was a lot of talk about more guys playing both ways. Apparent lack of depth but even more concerning was the apparent lack of effort.
  20. Both teams went to the state quarter finals last year only to be bit by the injury bug, so let's squash the "they can't carry our jock strap" trash talk. Both programs have great athletes, dedicated coaching staffs and fanatics for fans. Lots of strengths on both sides of the ball with only a few areas to improve on. It's going to come down to who makes the least mistakes and if the other team can capitalize when they have the chance. For the Bears, Dean with Morris and crew will need to have a stellar night and the O-line must keep the "chain gain" in check. WOS will be forced to double/triple team #90 as they lack some size at the tackle position. This will only leave one-on-one assignments against the other trenchmen. LCM's secondary has been in question with loss of Pete from last year but I've be pleasantly surprised at how they can shutdown the passing game. In the end, this game will only help identify those gaps before heading into district and hopefully long playoff runs for both team. Iron sharpens Iron? LCM 28 WOS 27 with a missed PAT GO BEARS P.S. Guaranteed that this one sells out early so gettem' while they're HOT!!!
  21. Port Neches mayor, Memorial coach talk about PNG-Port Arthur football rivalry.. [Hidden Content] Left alot out of this article.
  22. All this atmosphere and physical atmosphere talk, Cherokee blasting, flare shooting going on with these all state coaches coaching and possible suiting up with 62 returners with the newest iPads. Should make a great game PAM by 2 TDs
  23. Don’t envy the OT who lines up against him. Talk about a long night having to try & block him every play. And in the rare game there is a OT who can do it physically, he’ll out quick him.
  24. Who verified what disinformation I spread about BH and what was it? I don’t really think people in BH wanted a coach who didn’t want to be there. I’ve already said it was a joke in response to another poster’s comments. As far as this BH obsession thing, hopefully this helps. I work in Baytown. There are people who have kids that attend school in East Chambers, Anahuac, Dayton, New Caney, Dickinson, St. Thomas, etc. Bunch of geography is covered at the coffee pot. The highest percentage of people’s kids attend BH though. In 15 years I’ve only had one other co-worker who’s had a kid play varsity sports at Crosby. Right now alone I have friends that have kids at BH who play varsity football, basketball, baseball, softball and even soccer. BH fans love telling you how good their programs are so they generally dominate the majority of all sports conversation, plus that’s where the majority of them live. I’ve been to softball and football playoff games to support their kids and they’ve driven all the way to Dallas to come support Crosby because of me. Doesn’t meant you’re not going to still talk trash and take pride in beating each other. I would like to talk football too so I think a good place to start is with saving all your “quality of life” posts. Tell us about the quality of your offense instead.
