I’m not saying they’re equal to last year I’m saying they’re athletic enough to run man
When they've run man they've really struggled

I disagree they got athletes all over the secondary
I've watched them all year, they've had issues in coverage not nearly as good on the back end as last year

SOC running a zone coverage with all these athletes? Smh
They simply aren't near as good as they were last year...they can't cover as well in man IMO...been burned too many times

TD SOC. Huge hole. Green run.
Danger zone for PNG here....that drop looms really large

SOC got held to 10 vs. Emerson last week we all saw how that turned out
SOC had zero first downs in the first half last week and still managed to be tied 10-10 lol

SOC's been a second half team all year, you could argue PNG outplayed them in the first half and they are still losing...thats concerning if I'm a PNG fan

P5 talent is P5 talent…regardless of what grade they’re in lol
Sophomore P5 talent is quite a bit different than senior P5 talent in terms of expeirence, big game execution etc....most of the SOC sophomores who are P5 guys are still behind seniors who are borderline FCS/D2 guys

Absolutely but he doing it with a bunch of power 5 kids too!
SOC's not NEAR as loaded talent wise as they were a year ago...most of the P5 talent are underclassmen...

Has anyone been to the early game at AT&T? My wife is dropping me off that morning to wait in line and was wondering how early people start getting there. My daughter is an Indianette so we try to sit in a certain spot.
I believe they'll open the lots and stadium at 930....but cars will be lined up at each entrance waiting to get in

The offense is a little more dynamic. Defense IMO is better in terms of scheme and body movement, but we took a slight step back from last year in terms of individual reads and tackling.
This is kind of my assesment, the defense for PNG 2023 is similar to 2022 if there is a step back its minimal but the offense is much better and explosive especially in the passing game

Correct…let me rephrase their bad in terms of what NS is used to playing with. One of the main reason we won 3 titles because we were able to dominate DV in the trenches.
On top of that I’m hearing Bailey is dealing with a sprained or possibly torn MCL! He played with a brace on his knee today for the first time since Week 1…it’ll be an uphill battle for NS either way
They definitely didnt run Bailey this week as much so something seemed off....the wind helped Westlake for sure because North Shore's biggest edge was on the outside w/their WR's vs Westlake's DBs was neutralized....

This SOC team isn't nearly as talented across the board as 2021/2022...the staff has done a really good job maximizing the talent of a good HS team...but that also IMO makes them much more vulnerable than last year..
If you are coming up for the first time there are plenty of nice hotel options in the area...if you find a hotel with a shuttle thats optimal...you can bring an empty water bottle into the stadium and they have water stations to fill water bottles if you are making a day (or two) of it and dont want to spend too much money at concessions etc...
Live by Loews is the closest hotel and is connected to Texas Live...yes its pricy but it is very nice...across the street Lowes is being built but not ready yet....

North Shore's OL isn't bad...but I'd say they are WAY below what they have been....and I think thats played a big part in their inconsistency

I don’t think Pasadena allows Pasadena to move down to 5A since all of the other schools are 6A in that ISD.
I've been told Pasadena ISD is allowing it this year...at least the last time I talked to 2 PISD coaches thats what they were led to believe

Okay, since Desoto isn't opting up, that's cool. But why not put one of those Austin/Temple/Waco districts in Reg 2 and put us(PA and Bmt) back in region 3? That should;ve happend last time but people at the UIL can't seem to be able to read a map.....
And, I was told Lufkin use to play the College Station schools so either keep them in Dist 7 or let them cross I-45 and play over there. A six team district in the Golden Triangle would be ok for the next 2 years
Everything is shifting because El Paso lost a district....the state is a big puzzle...if El Paso still had their own district I think District 8 would be in Region III, but everything has shifted with one less district to work with....District 11 makes more sense to be paired with District 12 for me....
yes Lufkin has been w/College Station and A&M Consolidated before but A&M and C-State are shifted west to fill out two Austin districts...there was only one true Austin district last time now there's two with Anderson/Weiss moving down to D1 and Rouse moving up to D1...Lehman and Hays shift north out of north San Antonio back to Austin due to movement down there...
The extra Austin district comes from El Paso losing a district...lots of moving parts..you absolutely could put district 11 into Region II and move district 8 to Region III, but since this is my mock realignment and I'm going off what I believe the UIL will do this is what I think will happen...

Per Dave Campbell:
Dist 7 5A-D1
Red Oak
Highland Park
JT
DeSoto
N. Mesquite
W. Mesquite
Midlothian
Dist 8 😑
West Brook
Porter
Memorial
Crosby
Lufkin
K. Park
United
Some reflections......
Thank Zues Desoto is opting up and I like this district but again, wrong region. 8 and 11 could be swapped easily for those with a subscription
DeSoto is likely not opting up....Padilla and I both believe they will play in 5A (which is where I have them)....district 11 in my mock makes a better bi-district fit in Region III with the other Austin area district IMO
