This is a 4A school.
There's zero reason why the girls sports shouldn't lift...if there's just one weight facility there needs to be some cooperation and scheduling but for the good of all sports and athletes it needs to happen and if it's not happening then a poor job is being done by all involved IMO

Not sure you understand politics, I bet you’re a wealth of information around election time
I understand politics and all that entails and in certain instances in high school athletics it rears its ugly head.
I've helped coaches find officials for games including state title games and I can assure you politics are the last thing on those guys minds.
You feel quite strongly that politics are involved here and I disagree and that disagreement is based on personal experience. You aren't changing my mind and I'm not changing yours...much like a political debate on the internet

And that eliminates politics?? Lol
When it comes to a state championship game? Absolutely!!
The only thing on those guys minds is winning if you think those guys are going to risk winning a state title to make someone at TASO happy then I'm not sure you know these coaches.

You have to make a new one in February. 💪🏾
Hopefully we'll be back in Region 3, it'll be way more talk then.
The big question will be which non-DFW district goes into District 8....

I like the 4 days of football. I would be good with 3 days of football.
That way you can watch all the games.
Would like to see it at least alternate between Houston and Dallas. Not sure the Alamodome could handle it.
Alamodome can handle it better than NRG IMO...locker rooms are still an issue at NRG for multiple games

Like you said Bill Theodore is "the head honcho of TASO."
You really do not think that was not a factor?
Absolutely not...if that was the case he would have been picked for a game this year too right? There was a Fort Worth crew that worked a game this year and it definitely wasn't Bill's crew

Gunter - Tidehaven and Bellville - Gilmer should have had Houston refs. It should be across the board for all classifications, as long as the games remain in Dallas.
Gunter-Tidehaven had Austin refs and Bellville-Gilmer had Dallas officials

And POLiTICS were involved in those coaches selections
What politics would make Coach Joseph and Coach Todd to both agree to a Fort Worth crew led by Bill Theodore for their 2022 game? I know Coach Todd pretty well and he doesnt strike me as the kind of guy who plays politics in the least..and I would think the same applies to Coach Joseph if he's like his Dad

No, Houston refs are needed to counterbalance the disadvantage of the Houston / SETX teams playing in DFW's teams back yard.
Houston officials worked DeSoto-Summer Creek, PNG-SOC and Aledo-Smithson Valley...San Antonio did Duncanville-North Shore

Looked at 2022 pics and a few had purple gloves on and we wore white SOC in all black. None of the SOC kids had on white gloves. So gives credence to a disrespect vs in game advantage reasoning. Pretty stupid but….
PNG 2023 State Champs
Disrespect that! 😂
Tough but fair! Lol

Whether high school or college, this game is supposed to teach the players about life. How to grow up and be men. That ain’t it.
You are entitled to your opinion. Much like the coaches at SOC are entitled to run their program as they see fit, the results are the results. And the results from this year's game had nothing to do with the gloves or being distracted...PNG just beat SOC
I think what's happened at SOC and the type of kids they've put out have made a difference for the positive.
IMO they've done far more good in their community than any percieved slights by wearing the opposing teams colors.

If the SOC program is at a point where the players care more about showy Instagram clout than respecting their opponents, it explains a lot about their poor showing, and they deserved to lose.
If a player did that at Alabama, Saban would run him until his legs fell off, and half the fan base would rightly laud the decision.
Considering they've been doing it a while now and they've won two state titles and played for another my guess is they'll be fine

So you’re telling me they did it specifically to disrespect their opponents? That makes it so much more acceptable.
Whether the deception is intentional or not (I suspect it is) doesn’t change the effect. My opinion is unchanged.
Generally speaking yes it's not done on purpose to give that competitive advantage it's more for clout on Instagram in hype videos etc

do the math.
200k attendance times $20 a ticket.
where does all the money that the UIL makes off sports go to?
A lot of it keeps the UIL from being in the red...you think the marching band, one act play and academic contests make money? Absolutely not lol
-
It's not done to hide penalties, it's called "disrespect spat" where you wear the other teams colors..its not uncommon to see...first time I saw SOC do it was in 2019 vs Kimball they wore red.....Kimball was in white jerseys that day so it clearly wasn't done for a competitive advantage then

So Houston calls PNG home games?
Not sure if PNG uses SETX or Houston as their home chapter...sometimes geography doesn't always line up...for example DeSoto in the Dallas area uses Fort Worth for their home games

If you were familiar with up there you would know it's a little bit different between Fort Worth and the D and that's putting it mildly. Should I say mildly @Matthew328 ?? 😁
Mildly lol
It's also literally two different chapters lol

well now we know why he was calling at state.
I guess he must have just had a bad game........
You might want to ask Mike Fitch who the head honcho of TASO is.........
I've never met Mr Fitch, I know Bill was at state football this year organizing and managing the officials and is usually the point person for TASO at coaching school...I guess Bill is technically #2
I want to say Bill's crew has been picked to do 5 state title games now

That crew was not very good last year.
Makes you wonder how some of these crews make it to state.
Theodore's crew is pretty well thought of generally..he's also the head honcho at TASO

Yes, I’m absolutely certain there members of that crew connected to Dallas ISD in any way on that crew.
It was Bill Theodore's crew...I'd have to research all of them..I know one the guys on the crew has kids that go to Midlothian...would have to research the others
