Hagar got a reaction from Mr. Thornton Melon in Vidor is open !!
I agree. Most (all?) of the teams successful with the Slot T have a decent passing attack, like teams who use the Spread have a decent run game.

Hagar got a reaction from Separation Scientist in George Santos - NY Representative
Santos is an embarrassment. It’s so obvious why spend time on it. Essentially he’s a RINO. Ran as a Republican but lies like a Democrat. How he got to where he is is beyond me.

AND Trump became a racist after years of philanthropy and involvement with black causes at the exact moment he decided to run as a Republican.

Hagar reacted to oldschool2 in What makes a good vs. great coach?
I think that people are assuming that any school just has the ability/budget to hire whoever they want. Just how big do you think the applicants list is at schools with bad traditions? It's not a coincidence that you don't see the Surratts of the coaching world applying to coach at schools that don't have a tradition of winning... and schools can only hire a person that's applied.

C’mon Reagan, why you always ragging on the Pirates? Why not the BC Cards? The Kountze Lions? Beaumont United? Even your beloved Bulldogs? Plenty of room for improvement in this area, by the Pirates and all the others mentioned above.

It's that college education paying off for me again.
That, and I've got an uncanny grasp on the obvious.

Hagar got a reaction from Reagan in Boy, that was painful
As Biden listed all of his “great” accomplishments I was reminded of an appropriate analogy I heard on The Five. You have a beautiful home with expensive vases and paintings. A guy comes in and trashes it, breaking the vases and defacing the artwork. Then he comes back to fix it, gluing the vases back together and scrubbing the paintings. Then he wants to tell you what a great job he’s done. I fixed this and that, he proclaims. Haven’t I done great? Yes but, if you hadn’t have destroyed it to begin with, it wouldn’t have needed fixing. And the Dem voters soak up this “great” news, proclaiming what a great man he is. It’s simple male bovine feces.
As Lincoln said, You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you can’t fool all the people all of the time. Well the Dems have it down to an art. They fool way to many people all of the time.

Well, against my better judgement, I stayed up and watched the SOTU last night.
Between the outright lies and incoherent babbling I gave up an hour of sleep. I gotta give old Joe his due (or at least his speech writers). He stuck to the same old tired Dem talking points. Heck, 4 supreme court justices skipped it (one a democrat).
The bright spot on my loss of sleep was Sarah Huckabee Sanders response.
Ok, on to my coffee and getting going at work. Have a great hump day everyone.

Hagar got a reaction from Bigdog in What makes a good vs. great coach?
One aspect that gets little attention, but explains somewhat the success of first year Coaches is tradition. A school with a winning tradition (imo) has a definite edge over one without. PNG & Nederland are two examples, although Ned has fallen off recently. But when PNG takes the field, with the stands full of purple and the band blaring out Cherokee, they have that edge. And if for instance they’re playing Vidor, and it’s one of those rare times Vidor should win, they more often than not will lose because of that tradition. Call it “never give up”, or whatever, but a great tradition goes a long way. Jmo

Hagar reacted to Horton in What makes a good vs. great coach?
Surratt had the talent of hiring coaches.
His staff starting from the junior high to high school started teaching kids how to play disciplined football, how to lift weights, film study, pride of the C an how to play a very physical type of football. He said his self, Carthage had good athletes but were not physical.
By the time you get to the junior varsity, you are playing hard nose physical football. Every little kid in Carthage wants to be a Carthage Dawg.
No matter if they have to wait until they are seniors for a starting position.
If you look back at every state championship team, see how many played FBS football (major DI college ball) you won’t find but a small number.
You will find a whole bunch they landed at smaller colleges. The point is the coaching staff developed those kids and made them the best they could be.
Carthage has had some of the best high school quarterbacks in Texas but only two played DI football Boggie went to USAT and one is at Tulane now. It is all about the program at Carthage.
Surratt, Preston, and all the other coaches beat with one heart beat and by the time the players get to the varsity, they have the same heart beat.

Yes, that is how we win all our games. We bring our score keepers and referees with us. We pay them good.
