it's a liberal college. she's the opposite as that. aTm would probably protest Obama. I don't see it as that big of a deal. I'll be happy to go do it and say anything they want me to say for $35K and an honorary doctorate, though.

He was a great college QB.  i think he has too much going against him to be a great pro QB.  He's too small to be a running QB, but he's probably too short to be a pocket QB.  The things that made him most valuable in college will get him killed in the NFL.  now when he eludes one guy in the pocket, there are going to be 3 more waiting to smash him.  and half the people on the field are as fast as him now.  I don't think he'll be a total bust like Tebow, but i don't see him being more than a QB who starts for a few years after he's drafted, and then plays backup for awhile before leaving the league.  But, i could be wrong.  I just think that after watching him play several games, that if he hadn't had one of the best WRs in college bailing him out on jumpballs, he might actually be considered a 3rd or 4th rounder right now.

Too much of a gamble to take with the first pick.

The young man could become a superstar QB, but he will have to refine his game quite a bit. Thats the big question with the scouts. Can he change his style enough to be successful???
I don't think any NFL front office is worried about his off field antics, because they really were extremly mild in comparison to many many others, but they were blown out because he was the first Freshman Heisman and the Media loves a darling!

I think he has the skillset and determination to be THE GUY at some point, but he is not THE GUY today and that makes him a gamble. He could be the next Russell Wilson, but even Wilson wasn't a first round QB. Tarkington and Flutie were later round picks as well and took a few years to create the NFL version of themselves.

I would have no problem with Houston selecting him, but not with the first pick in the draft. First pick has to be a no brainer future All-Pro...you don't get the chance that often to get the pick of the litter!

"I see Johnny Manziel as a project, a guy that will go down as one of the great collegiate players of all time. I would pay to see Johnny Manziel play in a college game. He’s a great college player, but his game, just in my opinion, does not project to the NFL. He’s a project, and he’s going to have to spend some time working on his game.”

No.  It is not a concern.  The State AGs will do whatever they choose.  It is not some kind of command.  And frankly, they would probably be better off if they don't try to enforce what usually turns out to be some unconstitutional law.   JMO

No different than politicians in texas gerrymandering districts a couple of years back to decrease the amounts of democrats in power. both sides abuse their power in order to increase their power, and affilliates of both sides "play politics on one side of the aisle while giving a pass to the other." If illegal aliens voting helped republicans, not only would democrats be acting the same way that republicans are now, but republicans would be acting the same way that dems are now. it would be total role-reversal.

I suppose it's in how you want to divide the numbers, but i'd agree that 10% is a valid number. that being said, 90% of their clients do not get abortions. So i get it, you hate abortions, and many people do. I respect that. but this does not take away from the fact that 90% of their clients, AND 97% of the services they provide have nothing to do with abortions, and are very valuable to the poor of our country.

I'd also challenge anybody to say that any entity providing free birth control to the poor in order to prevent unwanted pregnancies that you and i will pay for (both during pregnancy and as long as the child receives welfare, medicaid, chips, WIC, etc.) or that might end up as an abortion is not doing a great service for our country by doing so.

So while you and i may disagree about abortion, i can respect your view on it. But PP is not strictly an abortion clinic, or even mostly an abortion clinic, or even a good bit a an abortion clinic. it's a free women's health clinic that also happens to provide abortions. And no matter how much you may dislike the abortion aspect of it, there are many aspects of PP that are extremely valuable.

The bad thing about this whole situation is that extremist gun activists are backing up Derek Poe. I personally own each of the weapons he's used in his stunts, but i would never dream of doing what he's done. He's staging publicity stunts to try and generate interest in his business under the guise of "demonstrating his rights." Local gun owners have already been negatively affected by this, as we can no longer conceal carry in Parkdale Mall because of their reaction to his stunt. The thing about Texas law is that there is no explicit law banning the open carry of a long gun, but there is also no law saying it's okay. it's essentially legal by omission. This omission allows hunters to carry a rifle down the road to a stand, or a gun enthusiast to carry a rifle into or out of a gun range or similar business. I have to believe that most people with a modicum of common sense can step back and say that there is no practical reason to carry an AR-15 through a crowded mall, and it defies logic that someone would do so and then claim to be shocked when people panic. "Because I have a right to" does not make the action okay. If the small minority of extremist gun owners keep pulling stunts like these, laws will begun to be passed limiting open carry, and then the same people that cause it to happen will be demonstrating and protesting and complaining about it.

Haha, this guy's as bad as Derek Poe. He deserves what he gets, since the SAFE act is supposed to be all about responsible gun ownership, and has limited many of the rights of gun owners. I'd say being too stupid to realize you have a gun on your hip when you walk into an elementary school is not responsible. he deserves what he gets.

i think picking him would be a huge mistake. i see another super-talented college player turned irrelevant pro (i.e. Tebow, Young, McCoy). JFF's got a lot of talent, and he's elusive, but he's not big enough IMO to continue playing the way he does against bigger, stronger, fast opponents. much of JFF's value is hingent on his elusiveness, and ability to keep a dead play alive, rather than his pocket passing, which is what he'll have to depend on in the NFL. i don't think he'll be able to extend plays at the NFL level with at even a fraction of the success rate he had in college, and i think if he continues to try he'll spend more time on IR than on the field. he's also a headcase, which shows both on and off the field. yes, he had great stats at aTm, yes, he was one of the best if not THE best college football players the last two years, but he made stupid mistakes on the field all the time. i don't know how many ill-advised jump-balls Mike Evans bailed him out on in the last two years, but it had to have been well into the double digits. combine that with his off-field struggles, and he's not somebody that i look at and say "he's going to be a good professional". i think it's just as likely his head swells even bigger after he's drafted, and he ends up in the news more than Bieber. We'll see, but i just don't see him doing all that much.
