This I can agree with…..but my reasons may be different than yours.

I found the guy killed on fb because I thought I recognized the name. He’s got motorcycles as well. Doubt it’s coincidental considering how this went down. Definitely a targeted attack

Curious how this plays out, but I don’t know that it’ll end well.

bullets13 reacted to OlDawg in NO KINGS PROTEST
What has divided the country is progressives not getting their way on everything. The voters pushed back on their ideas at the election, and they aren’t happy. The organizers purposely picked the day to protest. Trump—like him or not—didn’t pick it.
So far, the Constitutional Republic is functioning as intended. POTUS has won a few SCOTUS cases, and lost a few. Power has been checked. Congress is working on a budget that might reign in some spending & prioritize. (Yet to be seen how it will turn out.) Immigration law is being followed more than it has in decades. Yes, there have been some high profile hiccups. But, the broader effort is what the majority of voters requested, and is required by law. Nothing ‘kingly or authoritarian’ about that issue.
I don’t see a need for a No Kings Day effort other than it’s a way for progressive/anarchist groups to attempt to disrupt. The major crowds amounted to—supposedly—around 2 million nationwide from numbers I’ve seen. A good number…until you realize it’s actually only around 1% of the voters of the 2024 election.
Why am I not surprised that Randi Weingarten (Teacher’s Union) is a major promoter & contributor? How teachers can still support her is beyond me. She is a big reason Texas passed school choice—which most teachers I’ve spoken with were against. She cares more about activism than the teachers and students she supposedly represents.

Yes, I guess being swept by Missouri and Texas and also losing to the same UTSA team, coupled with not even making the tournament, and being the quickest team ever going from #1 to unranked, would most definitely be the reasoning behind such a post.

Barring a miracle UTSA is about to beat UT for the second time in 3 days and put them out. That UTSA lineup is stacked!

They are our rivals in district in other sports, but it still hurt to see them lose and the boys also.
Few schools can boast 2 champions getting that close.

bullets13 reacted to baddog in Theory About AI
All good points and AI is great technology. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this. My wife and I were discussing how we had heard that Siri was eavesdropping. We started talking about generators and she noticed later on, when she was on an internet page, the border ads were about generators. We thought that was too weird to be coincidental. Try it sometime. It may not be instantaneous, but it happens. My biggest problem is that great inventions seem to invite evil applications ie….card scanners invite criminals to use them to steal identities. This has happened to me.

Left out "burning hot track". Coach causes many (not one) kids to seek medical treatment and excuses because the wounds will "eventually heal". Compares to cheerleading.
Astonishing degree of incomprehension.

Damn dude is he your son or what? Or is he you? I mean you seem very protective of a guy who definitely made a horrible decision and maybe/probably broke some laws…

Incredible logic: you can "injure kids and as long as the injuries eventually heal", everything is fine.

Where do you come up with this stuff? Do you understand what negligence and omission mean?
In this case the kids were presented with do something that was supposedly fun from TikTok or something not fun. That is pressure. Allegedly, the coach also pressured them verbally after some were wanting to stop.
This has nothing to do with me. Why are law enforcement and the DA investigating? With no potential for an offense?
BTW, you struggle with making up stuff on all of these threads.

Texas 22.041(c)
(c) A person commits an offense if the person intentionally, knowingly, recklessly, or with criminal negligence, by act or omission, engages in conduct that places a child, elderly individual, or disabled individual in imminent danger of death, bodily injury, or physical or mental impairment.
Texas Penal Code 6.03(d)
A person acts with criminal negligence, or is criminally negligent, with respect to circumstances surrounding his conduct or the result of his conduct when he ought to be aware of a substantial and unjustifiable risk that the circumstances exist or the result will occur. The risk must be of such a nature and degree that the failure to perceive it constitutes a gross deviation from the standard of care that an ordinary person would exercise under all the circumstances as viewed from the actor's standpoint.

Mr Falcon has done nothing more than address your questions. The question was asked previously was “what could he potentially be charged with”. The answer was “child endangerment”. You are somehow stuck on the fact that the incident is “unintentional”, intention is not required for child endangerment to be applied.
There is a criminal investigation going and is not being conducted by “Mr Falcon” but instead by law enforcement and the DA. He may or may not face charges but myself and many others will not be surprised if he does.

He should go to a school he either
A. Is in the attendance zone
B. Has already established residency ( like silsbee)
C. If he goes to a school with open enrollment and doesn’t live in the attendance zone sit out the required year.
You know follow the same UIL rules that everyone else is supposed to be following.
By all means he should do what him and his parents feel is best for him, but with that being said if he is going to play at a UIL school it should be in accordance with UIL rules.

So, if that is stopped by this bill that would be a cut/savings - waste, fraud and abuse…….
looks like you support the bill….unless you support doctors abusing the system

The abuse is able-bodied adults in their 20s, 30s, and 40s choosing not to work so they can suck off the government teat. The amazing thing is that for a long time those same folks could get income tax returns of up to $10,000. Another common fraud is filing for benefits as head of household as a “single mother” when the father lives in the house. I saw that multiple times every year when I worked in Beaumont. That said, you’re absolutely right that there is plenty of fraud perpetrated by providers. If the visit is free for the patient, do they ever really pay attention to what services the office is charging to Medicaid?

Decreased funds are fine if you make an effort to stop fraud and abuse. Due to my work I’m more than familiar with how many people who receive benefits who shouldn’t.
