If they can teach Sam to step up in the pocket to avoid pressure instead of running straight to the sideline and throwing the ball out of bounds he could eventually be a stud. I've been very happy with him so far, but I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say at least 10 times a game he runs straight right or left to avoid pressure, eliminating all options except for forced throws to the one well-covered receiver on which ever side of the field he ends up on. Without this flaw, I think they win both this game and the USC game. That being said, I'm still more excited about him than I've been about a UT quarterback in several years.

Waaaaay too many missed tackles in the first half, but showing some fightback to make it a game at least. For awhile there I thought it was gonna get ugly.

Really nice win. Just a thought... perhaps not delaying every running play by a second by showing the qb option with him keeping his hands in there would help the Texas rbs hit the holes a little better. I'm cool with some of the time, but it sure seems like that slows the development of their run plays a lot because they hardly ever run a straight handoff

One thing I like about this team: a couple of bad breaks went against them early, and a couple of big plays. The last few years, this game would've been over at 10-0. This horn team has some fightback in them.

He went for it questionably a couple of times against Maryland as well, and I thought those were turning points in the game. I like him, but that's four times already this season he's gone for it in questionable situations, and they're 0-4 on converting.

I posted a longer winded version of this on another thread, but here's my take on this: if your manner of protest angers the audience you're trying to reach to the point that they care nothing about what you're trying to say, you've accomplished nothing. The discussion no longer has anything to do with police brutality, or mistreatment of African Americans, and now centers wholly around kneeling for the anthem. I think it's safe to say no progress has been made through these protests, and if anything they've driven the two sides further apart on the issue.

I agree that athletes have the right to protest. I don't like the manner in which they're doing it, as both of my grandfathers fought for the flag they're disrespecting, although they also fought for their right to disrespect it. That being said, I have two major issues with their protest: the first is that they're protesting an issue that isn't anywhere near the problem that they'd have you believe. Based on the most recent fbi statistics, a police officer is 18.5 times more likely to be killed by a black man than an unarmed black man is to be killed by police. While there undoubtedly are police officers out there mistreating black people, it's nowhere near the issue, especially in this day and age, that the media and BLM would have you believe. My other issue is with the manner of protest, not because of the disrespect of the flag, but because of its unintended (maybe) consequences. When you protest in a manner that angers those you're trying to convince to a degree that they have no interest in what you're trying to say, you've accomplished nothing. The debate no longer has anything to do with police brutality, or mistreatment of African Americans, and instead now centers entirely around the method of protest. In that sense, I'd say that the protest was wholly unsuccessful, as most of the NFL players' targeted audience now cares even less about what they're trying to protest, and a portion of them no longer tune in to see it.

Well, the article questions how one person could hit so many people, and "expertly wield an automatic rifle" for so long. With 22,000 people standing shoulder to shoulder, and with him shooting extremely fast rounds, I'd be willing to bet he hit 300-400 people with the first 200 rounds he fired, which would've been in under a minute. It would be almost impossible for a bullet to miss someone. Also, with the minimal recoil of the AR-15, I highly doubt someone would become exhausted shooting it for ten minutes, especially with pauses in between to reload.
