When someone pointed out that several of Silsbee’s losses came with many of their players still playing football, you said that wasn’t an excuse... not sure why it’s valid when y’all are missing one guy on a team that’s 15 deep. -

Silsbee is on pace to beat them by more than Yates did in either of their meetings but we’ll see how it ends up -

Silsbee should start wearing them down -
Houston Yates 110 West Orange-Stark 49/FINAL

Yeah, apparently both quit before the playoff game. Obviously that would’ve made no difference in the outcome, but an average team running a third string point guard against Yates’ (or silsbee, for that matter) press isn’t going to light it up offensively. -

Regardless of who they get, I expect an easy 30-40 point win in that one. HJ had a solid year, but they don’t have the talent like they’ve had in years past to run with the best in the state. And lcm has had a very nice year by their standards, and HJ beat them by double digits when they played. -

Real question here: I get that Yates just beat the stuffing out of a team that was mediocre BEFORE their point guards quit, but what’s up with playing Scarborough and north forest four times and not winning any of the four games by more than 16? I get that they’re decent teams, but Scarborough is 15-10, north forest 15-12. Also, Washington just played them to within 11. The only reason I ask is because I’m seeing all of these comments about silsbee opponents being garbage, and id be quite comfortable with most of the teams mentioned comfortably beating 10 and 12 loss 4A teams. -

Bayou really has it bad for silsbee, as he’s shown before. I can’t wait to see them meet up with Yates. Hope they both make it that far. -

Looks like a good one! I was gonna head out there and got stuck at school doing parent teacher conferences -
That’s about as convenient a venue as I could possibly ask for. I just wish it wasn’t at 8:00.

That’s nuts. Might’ve been 4v4 after all those suspensions considering the size of the programs

What happened in the Avinger game? Avinger is my home away from home.

It’s bad news when I can say I’m fairly confident that at 34 years old, 5’7”, and 35 lbs overweight I could play meaningful minutes for this HF squad. -

Nobody comes here. I found out about this just now by accident. These girls deserve their suspension if there’s validity to the claims, which it sounds like there is. If they’re using the N-word towards this girl they should be done for the year.

Silsbee has a special generation of players right now, and HJ just doesn’t. HJ is a solid 4a squad, but Silsbee would go very deep in the 5A playoffs if they’re playing like they’re capable. Up until the last couple of years, even though Silsbee was clearly the better team, HJ had a couple of horses good enough to keep it close, and Silsbee wasn’t quite to this level yet. These last 3 years or so we’ve seen HJ drop from a top-10 4a caliber team to a top 20-25 team, while Silsbee has risen to arguably the level of a top-5 5A team. The results in their matchups have reflected this. It’s hard to be surprised when one school is down (although still a solid team), and the other has so much talent they just won a 4A championship in arguably the deepest 4A playoffs ever. With the amount of Houston and Dallas schools staying at lower classifications to try and win championships (while essentially having a talent pool of tens of thousands of kids to pick from), it just goes to show how incredible this group from Silsbee has really been. -
I would guess no more than $5
