Silsbee ISD came out with their school action plan today. In it states that any student that chooses online learning versus in school learning will not be able to participate in extracurricular activities.

Silsbee has more than two players returning that saw significant time. Gilder (Jr.) and Williams (fresh) were starters last year. Those two along with Baltrip (Jr.) Harper (fresh) Haynes (soph.) saw significant playing time last year. Also Partain (soph) and Jones (fresh.) will be significant contributors this coming season. In total Silsbee returns 2 starters and 9 others who suited out for varsity for regional tourney. Silsbee had 5 seniors last year (Cartwright, Bush, Edwards, Hunt and Martin) Cartwright only played about a third of the season and no playoff games. Silsbee loses 52 points a game in the loss of Bush and Martin.

I would IW her every time she came to the plate.

The way I see it, if the school isn't good enough, then the sports teams isn't good enough.

I can't seem to understand how a student decides to stay home to be taught virtual because of safety issues with covid but is okay will playing contact sports? Or how an ISD or UIL see's a difference in staying home for schooling but at school for athletics. Makes zero sense to me. Either you go to school or you don't, including athletics.

I am beginning to think the same. I will actually be surprised if we have a football season. With some college conferences shutting or minimizing their season, it's hard to believe that there will be a Texas high school football season. Dallas ISD sup has stated that he does not expect a high school football season this fall.

Honestly, I have no clue. I tend to vote Republican mostly but never have completely voted straight ticket. I have about given up on politics and government. I also know that by not voting, I have no right to complain and I am good with that. Just give me the beach, poker and beer and I am good.

With these two as the candidates, for the third consecutive presidential election, I will choose not to vote.
