They have the third most in MLB with 326., only behind the Mets and the Phillies with 333 and 330. Houston still leads the American League in hitting. Have a league best in batting average (.267), top 3 MLB in OBP (.346), SLG (.436) and OPS (.782). All those lead AL. Astros lead MLB in doubles (73), lead AL in HR's (44), lead AL in total bases (540). Also 2nd in AL in runs scored (181). Again, let the current record (14-22, 5 back of AL West) reflect that pitching or lack thereof is solely the cause of being 8 games under .500.

I was told Silsbee had to play some 8th and 9th graders in the 7 on 7 Saturday at HF due to regional track meet and Silsbee baseball playing in playoffs that day. Eight returning starters on offense is good but only returning 5 on defense. LB's will be fine but will need some DL replacements.

I received word that High Island is choosing to not compete in UIL next season. Have not confirmed just yet if it's all sports (which I believe will be the case) or if it's certain sports. I do know for a fact that HI will not play UIL basketball next season. High Island struggled in every sport last few years.

Game 2 for Silsbee/Madisonville has been moved to tomorrow (Saturday) evening, 5pm at Kingwood HS. If a Game 3 is needed, it will be 30 minutes after the completion of Game 2. Silsbee leads series 1-0

Devon didn't play in the playoffs so I wouldn't really list him as a big part of that championship team. He played a part no doubt but if you are going to list three players for that year, he shouldn't be one of them. I would go with Harris, Jones, Mike McCain or Barnes with Bush and Adams for that championship.
