Silsbee looked good it's first day of practice Friday and inter squad scrimmage Saturday. I liked what is saw knowing it's just the first two days of practice. The junior and sophomore class are definitely the driving force to this team. A small senior class that will compete and a couple of freshman that will push for time on the field. One parent told me "their not a well oiled machine but it looks like they have oil on them".  I hope the oil keeps flowing. Go Tigers!!!

The Silsbee 8th grade team went to and won the Galena Park North Shore Tourney last weekend. 

At 3:30 today there will be baseball flying all over Texas!!!

Why is everyone obsessed with the D1 title?  To me if a kid is blessed enough to play at any level and get it paid for then what else can you ask for?  

I would say WO-S won those games, not JD.
But, in the game against Silsbee here were each players numbers:
Dallas     passing 18-25-176-3-0
              rushing   2-43 TD
              total         27/219 yards, 4TD
Thomas  passing   6-13-149-1-1
               rushing    17-122 3TD
               total          30/271 yards, 4 TD
 
and it's not even close which QB faced the better defense.

Something I've noticed about these fans. Neither will make many bold predictions about the score because they know it could go either way. Lol

Silsbee vs HJ is comparable to Silsbee vs Lincoln but not the same. If you have never been to the Beehive on one of the games, those crowds were very hostile to say the least. 

Sometimes it is hard to get into a rhythm against certain teams and their style of play. A lot of times sloppy play is contagious. We saw against Central how they can play against better teams. I think next Tue will show a lot about this team. Should be a great game.

Young class from the Smoke will turn some heads.

Late Sunday evening, SETXsports will be transferring to a new and bigger server in order to better handle the traffic on the site.  We do not anticipate that the site will go down during this transfer or that any data will be lost.  However, if you do post during the time that the server transfer is occurring, that post may be lost.
Now, there is always the possibility of glitches which may result in the site going down or that a post or 2 being lost that were made just before the transfer, so don't worry if that happens.  By Monday morning, SETXsports will be rocking and rolling on its new server!

After this weekend, I am quite sure that the "jilted" Mustangs got the accolades that they were really looking for.
As for the Ass(ociated) Press Team, they'll always jilt this area.
Give me a team made up of guys strictly from 10-4A-I and 9-4A-II and have the coaching staff be the 12 HC's from those 2 districts, that just wouldn't be fair.

We got beat by a better team point blank. 4 d1 commits but about 4 more D1 recruited underclassmen. We didn't come to play and they did. Funny thing is, the style of offense played by Silsbee would have probably fared better. You need an athletic QB to beat them and although Blisset is very good, he's not a threat with his feet.

Good move sitting D. McCain these next couple of weeks. Get him healed up for the big run at the end of the season.

everyone gets a trophy..... Not to undercut any who got an award but THIS young man is raw talent.  Saw him grow this year but man if he could just polish his routes and then finish them he would be almost unstoppable.
Work on his pass catching ability to go with those raw talents and he could be a 4/5 Star WR.

You guys need to know that there are 4-5 plays signaled in to Dontre and he reads defense and makes the call at line of scrimmage as to if it's a pass or run. Dontre has done great all year reading the defenses and making the correct call but he probably would admit he missed a couple in this game, particularly two of the 4th down plays. Looking at the sideline after a few of these plays you could tell they wanted a different read.
Give credit to Carthage for mixing the coverages and blitz packages.
Still would take Dontre and his read ability over any QB in our area.
