Why harsh words in the time of death?
OlDawg and 2 others reacted to AggiesAreWe for a topic
I could care less what Reiner or any other of those Hollywood folks have to say about politics or people. They are idiots and not important to me. POTUS is important to me and what he says or does or how he carries himself in the position of the office is important to me. I believe there is a higher standard. At least there should be. Bottom line, Trump was wrong for making those comments. It was completely unnecessary. It's not what I want MY PRESIDENT to do. Show some respect. show some class. It really isn't that hard to do. I hold Trump and any President to a higher standard. That's how it should be.3 points -

Nope. I think everyone’s in agreement that healthcare costs are out of control. Mine went up as well. I was still working. Now, I pay an exorbitant amount with no other options. The only thing I ever agreed with about ACA was preexisting coverage. That could have been done another way. Didn’t need the monstrosity we have now.2 points -

Don't think he's a Huffman fan. But I would like to send him a copy of chapter 40 so they know what's up. Not like CT saw the huge drop in talent and thought... nope I cant win with any of them. Time to hang it up. But back to topic... Carthage has had all the pieces of the puzzle. We started with the middle moving outward and then it got easier. I think they know what were up against and will come out on fire. With a huge stick to poke the bear. Really hope its not like the Gilmer game. Either one. Vs us in 14 or vs Carthage in 23? I'll always praise these guys just as I do the teams from 88, 00, 14, and 17. Its a huge accomplishment for us to return to any form of out former glory.2 points -

Oh ok. How many seasons did WOS have the recent W/L record and playoff shortcomings of recent history no matter the “talent” (always love some good quotations which lead to parentheses)? The points allowed have been record breaking in the wrong direction. I’m sure you have all the insight as to why the job came open. There are others that would differ with your opinion but regardless….this job was coming open sooner than later. The coaching staff does seem talented. However, just like an athlete, all the talent in the world can be there but it has to be focused in the right direction.2 points -

Congrats to Jabara Williams new HC of Crosby Cougars Football.
Justafan72 and one other reacted to Cougar14.2 for a topic
Congrats to Coach! I think he’s going to revitalize the program. He’s done the exact opposite of what Willis did on his side of the ball. The last couple of years he’s taken the talent Crosby has produced and put together some very salty units. Numbers may not always reflect it due to how inept our offenses have been which kept them on short fields and constantly losing the time of possession battle. Don’t be surprised if you see him rob one of the coordinators from North Shore, CE King or Summer Creek or one of those guys in those “co” positions. That’s where Crosby being basically 15-20 minutes away from those schools gives us the same advantage it does with the transfers. Being from East Texas I’m sure Coach Williams has some connections out there too. My only hope would be that the administration supports him financially and gives him at minimum the same three years they gave Willis to show improvement. He’s only 36 years old and this will be his first head coaching job so I expect some growing pains having to cut his teeth at the highest level of high school football in the country while playing with the short stack. We hit big time on the last two coordinators we hired so here’s to hoping we go 3/3.2 points -

More than money. Freedom. The freedom of true choice. That's not what the Dem's & Obama gave us. They gave us the illusion of choice with a hefty price tag. Make no mistake. I'm not an ACA fan. I am a pre-existing coverage fan. Other than that requirement, I think the market should be open with cafeteria style plans available to whomever. Let the insurers offer us their options. Let us choose. Or, choose not to be covered. No government intervention telling them what they have to offer as a minimum covered item. Stipulate with Medicare/Medicaid/Chip. Those are true government run systems. Don't tell private insurers what they have to cover as far as specific items.1 point -
I call it “having better talent”. He did not become competent all of a sudden. He is and has been fully competent ever since he arrived. He was coaching for a minute before he took the current position.1 point

This is another typical government approach. Biden mandated the EV push with no plan to support it. DOGE cut departments and programs with no plan to address the voided needs. Congress plans to eliminate subsidies without a plan for relief to those most in need. There're way too many examples to list. They care so much they will revisit this in January. Follow the money.1 point

And yet you just missed the whole point of me saying Crosby would be more competitive too once we had 2,800+ kids like Kingwood? I’ve stated the same thing every time and I’ve told you why those schools with smaller enrollments can be highly competitive. You have million dollar addresses like some of the Vandy kids or a large number of heavily recruited black kids like Longview does. If your school is 72% Hispanic like North Shore you better have a big enrollment to mitigate that or have a total football playing enrollment of about 1,500. The last decade of course we’ve had 20 6A state champions; Duncanville, North Shore, Westlake, Katy, Longview, Allen, Cy-Fair and Lake Travis. None of them go against what I’ve stated and none of the 4 state finalist playing in 6A do this year either. This fact that you had to throw Willis in there who 1) has 2,900 kids and growing fast and 2) was 12-20 their first three years in 6A until their enrollment grew and they could close the gap on schools like The Woodlands shows you can’t “give me a list” of elite 6A programs that go against what I said. You may not like what I’m saying but as far as the THSF 6A landscape goes the numbers are the numbers.1 point -

All I know is this, when Obamacare kicked in the company insurance representative informed us that our insurance was going up 30%, the company covered some of it but my premiums went up a lot, all due to the ACA. My insurance went up to cover others due to government interference, as did many folks, anything right about that?1 point -

They are trying to - Democrats are the ones that put us in the mess, remember not one republican vote on this life changing bill. It was complicated and insurance cost have risen/sky rocketed the last 11 years. It has been painful. Democrats knew it was there problem and ignored it. Republicans are trying to fix it, but it won't be easy and there will be some pain involved. You can't fix something overnight that took 11 years to get to where we are at.1 point -

Obama's lies cost EVERYONE money - you mad at him for lying to you?1 point -
People that are on Obamacare are paying taxes as well. Many, many independent contractors, doctors, small business owners, etc. are also on Obamacare. So are seniors in the gap that are still paying taxes on their Social Security while trying to hold a part-time job to make ends meet. Obamacare covers more than just the 'poor.' The law made it--basically--the only game in town if your employer doesn't offer healthcare. I think people still forget this fact. Around 8% of the U.S. population is on ACA. Over 20 million people. We're almost all getting screwed by the costs. 91% of Healthcare Is Government Subsidized. [Hidden Content] Who is willing to do away with the employer tax benefit for insurance that allows them to pay you more? It's no different than the Obamacare subsidy. Could be easily argued it's worse. Not sure many realized that--unless they're on private insurance--they're probably receiving a subsidy of some sort for health insurance.1 point

I'm disappointed in Johnson. He's someone that started off honorable but has turned into a puppet. It frustrates me that our government is playing games with healthcare subsidies that will greatly affect the lower income people. Whether we/they agree with subsidies in irrelevant. To eliminate them without ever addressing the real issue of healthcare cost is not representing the people they're supposed to serve. Why not you ask? Follow the money. They are not representing us. Lots of folks calling out the WOS faithful and anyone that was disappointed in the coaching. It is easy now to sit back and call everyone idiots right now when halfway through this regular season the narrative was still holding true. The narrative being that WOS is underperforming. These teams have been very talented but there has been something lacking. True, there is probably always a learning curve but there is also the saying “if it isn’t broke don’t fix it” that can’t be overlooked. The defense went from being stout to Swiss cheese for a few seasons and a few reasons. I for one hope that this season is the new norm and not an outlier. Not necessarily saying State is the norm but back to being a force. I hope the staff is successful for the sake of the themselves, players, school, fans, community and history. I hope Coach Hickman is super successful going forward and that success is with WOS.1 point -

Nah, I see a lot of mental gymnastics and justification for these nutso comments Trump made. I can live with “crude”, but this was delusional. I voted for the guy, and I’ll take him over the alternative, but I find it concerning that the person who’s running our country doesn’t have the self control or common sense to not make irrational, unhinged posts on social media. At the same time we’re supposed to trust him to not make irrational, unhinged decisions as president.1 point

I guess it’s what someone considers a higher standard. I want a President that won’t intentionally lie to me and cost me money by driving insurance up and I also would like a President that doesn’t make petty statements about folks. We have a good team which may be equal to Carthage in certain positions. My main purpose for liking high school football, and the Texans is because I absolutely, enjoy the defensive aspect of football. Hitting, tackling smacking anyone who has the football which WOS will do very well. Smacking them with a hard hit makes them more determined to hit teams back. If we need to throw, we will that will be determined on Friday. Excuse me but my husband is waiting on his dinner.1 point

Reiner has spoken about Trump his entire political career (as you have pointed out) speech that could easily cause a crazy to take a shot at Trump. He put money behind the Russia investigation, has said Trump is unfit to serve, said he was destroying democracy and wanted to serve as an authoritarian, as well as targeting Republicans in general, with the same hate speech. If you want to be spoken about kindly, maybe not try to ruin someone’s life with lies.1 point -
