My bubble hasn’t burst, I think all people are sorry that this man died. I was going to say white people, but I will speak for myself and see if there are some parallels. I didn’t want this man to have died at the hands of a white man due to the obvious repercussions being witnessed. I usually take the cop’s side because they do a job most of us couldn’t do, especially having to maintain control of their emotions during an arrest. I wouldn’t make a good cop. Why this cop did what he did only he knows. I still have a problem with a man committing murder while being videoed by bystanders and his own police brother’s body cams. Most people commit a crime hoping to beat the rap. Video of the murder kinda seals the deal. I also have a problem with two completely different autopsy findings. One of them needs to be fired. For me, all deaths are due to lack of oxygen to the brain.....think about it. So yes, I “wanted” this man to have died from extenuating circumstances other than the cop’s knee on his neck. Actually, had that been the case, it wouldn’t have stopped the riots because they are not about remembering this man (Rodney King comes to mind). I’m afraid this is a political battle funded by those who would like nothing better than to see America fall. This is not about Floyd, I mean nothing makes Floyd’s family more proud than to see his memory smeared by someone looting a big screen TV. (sarcasm for those who don’t know me). If it is proven that this cop did indeed murder this man, then he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. This would be justice under or system of laws. I know not what other justice there can be. So maybe my bubble has burst after all, but for reasons beyond this situation.

At SETXsports.com, we have been working hard on getting ready for the 2020 football season! As always, we will be starting our annual team previews on July 1st with the preview schedule to come on June 15th! We have also been solidifying our broadcast schedule with our usuals Silsbee, Newton, East Chamber and Lumberton. But our board owner Jordan Wilson has been busy lining up things. Early last week, he scored an agreement to broadcast Vidor Pirate football this season! And just today, Jordan reached an agreement with Beaumont ISD Athletic Director Ron Jackson to broadcast Beaumont ISD games this season! That will guarantee coverage of the two biggest local schools in our coverage area and a district that has been ignored for far too long. As always, Your Source for Sports in Southeast Texas will make sure you have the best in local sports right at your fingertips! Let this season begin!

The looters and rioters are criminals. Criminals don’t like cops. This dude was a cop. No protest forthcoming. You might see some “it was a white supremacist” or “it was an alt right member” deflections, but otherwise this black life didn’t matter.

Junior high football can practice on the turf. One of the big advantages of turf is it can be used quite a bit without wear and the weather doesn’t affect it. The PE clashes can use the rest of that field or the one by the tennis courts.

Worked at a school a few years ago where they started working on a turf project the day after graduation. Graduation was the last week of May. We played our first game on the field in late August. Even held a scrimmage on the turf. IT CAN EASILY BE DONE!!!!!

You do realize that there are several months before the next game. Barring weather it should not take that long.

Agreed, when your spending some else’s money ( taxpayers) and don’t have to produce a profit Efficiency is not a Top Priority. The multiple number of taxes that we pay in this country is nothing short of legalized theft. With that being said I am sure the field will be nice and I know the kids will love it. I know the Vidor kids have enjoyed there new turf field. Hopefully we get to sit in the stands this season to watch our teams play.

How do you know that? Are they doing EVERYTHING possible? I doubt it. Are you on the school board? A special planning commission? Do I not have a right to convey my opinion on this and any other subject? I do not live in Nederland, but I have 3 properties in Nederland and pay my fair share of taxes there. I am also in the construction industry and have a vast knowledge of how long it takes to build anything from a dog house, to a home to a refinery... I have worked on many municipal projects and understand theIr ineptness of doing anything in a timely fashion. They are allowed to go at a snail’s pace, because they have no one to answer to - no customer, if you will. “No need to rush it...” That’s a direct quote from the superintendent. So, I will continue to pose my opinion based on lots of experience while standing on my well constructed soap box which is the one thing in this conversation that is being delivered right on time.
