I don’t know what you mean by spoiled, but sounds like around 10 of em couldn’t take the heat. Best decision HD has made over the years is hiring Birdwell, and worst thing that could have happen to HD is losing Birdwell. And that’s no shots at the current coaching staff. Someone that graduated from there and cared about the students and the town like he did. You’re not gonna get that from anybody else. But I only know what I know I’m not there everyday. Started with 25 kids at that small of a school isn’t bad. But loose a chunk like that, they lucky to have JV season. Which I’m glad they are, for the kids that didn’t quit. I hate to say or admit any of this but that ol HD pride has been steadily leaving the campus over the years. I can pin point the reason why and it starts at home. It didn’t happen over night. There just isn’t any pride left. since 1979 state title Bobcats have won 2 playoff games. I mean I think the pride stayed around through the 2000s. But all the old timers have died off and most everybody else has moved away. Yall have seen it on here before, maybe joked with it and poked at it, but people from HD use to have pride and a backbone, sometimes irritating but you can’t deny that they had it. Even when they didn’t have much to brag on they could always hang on to the past. When I was a kid all the stories you heard 43 game winning streak in late 30s early 40s, and then the teams in 60s 70s and 80s, man it gave you pride and a little extra want to when it was August and hot or when you was down. And now there is nothing. And it hurts my soul to say that, but as one poster said previously it’s happening across the state, when there is no industry or jobs, towns will just dwindle away. I will be a Bobcat till I die, and proud of it. I’m not afraid to admit, I am also the problem. My kids don’t go there and they could. I brag to them about HD back in the day. I uncle Rico it all the way. I still got that bobcat pride and still will talk noise about the local schools and old rivals and even the one my kids attend. I’m just a hypocrite I think about it everyday, how in the 90s, the idea of going to one these neighboring schools you would of been a trader and had to fight if showed up to certain places. That was a no no. But more important then that. You didnt want to. To betray the people you grew up with since kindergarten? Hell no. lol it was that serious. I graduated with 41 in the late 90s and I only know of a couple classmates that their kids attended HD. My 90s self would kick my self now in The face. Lack of a better word or phrase, the whole situation just sucks.

Love Stingaree. Used to pull the boat up and take a break just for the crabs and Stingaritas. Only motorcycle uh-oh I've ever had--after riding for all my life--was filling up after about 3 large Stingaritas on the way back home. Told my wife to keep her feet on the rear pegs, got off to fill up, forgot (too drunk in fact) to put the kickstand down, and watched her slow motion fall. Still with her feet on the pegs, looking at me with a dumbfounded look pinned by the bike, calmly saying, "You told me to keep my feet on the pegs." Yep. Too young and stupid even in my 40s. lol

September 11, 2001 I was sitting at my station in the top floor of what was then a Williams Energy Bldg. in the Energy Corridor in Memorial designing a plot plan for a proposed, massive cogeneration plant that was going to interconnect the Texas energy grid to New Mexico, Arizona, and west. There were no TV's. Security came up & informed our engineering office that everyone had to evacuate to the ground floor immediately. We didn't find out why until we were all at our assembly points downstairs. I remember people thinking Houston's Energy Corridor was going to be hit as a strategic target because of all the engineering firms dealing with the oil and gas industry. La Porte ISD released, and my wife called and said she had left work to go pick our son up from school, and that the ship channel plants were all on high alert. I've heard that 1/3 of the people living in in the U.S. now weren't even born yet. Where were you?

They’re always a PO team. But, they’re 6AD1 and always have to face NS first round. If they were to play someone else first, they could probably make it further. They look better than usual this year so far.

For the most part, the coaches and players have no experience with 6 man. Also, the community wasn't interested in it. 11 man is all they knew. I was told that when they first turned in 1A numbers a few years ago, they chose not to play 6 man because they thought H-D would only have 1A numbers for two years then go right back to 2A DII. Didn't want to have to change things up drastically just for two seasons. This could be the wake up call that the community needs to bite the bullet and make the change in the next realignment if they can see that enrollment will not go up.

I'm more interested in the RSS vs NC tilt, and the BWB vs GCM game than the others this week. Hopefully, someone can keep us posted on the games. I've gone with NC & BWB in my pick-em's. I just think NC has looked competitive against good competition, and RSS has to travel. I went with BWB because I think their pride will give them a bounce back from last week. I watched NC's last game. I haven't seen BWB at all.

I agree. IMO, injuries to key players are not excuses. They cannot be glossed over with "every team has them". Some teams are more affected than others when it comes to injuries to key players. No denying that fact. I agree it's part of the game but it certainly should be accounted for when considering picking games or predicting outcomes.

Check my post since he was reelected. I’ve given him plenty of credit on the border. The jobs numbers will probably get revised multiple times in the future. They are again mismanaging the talent they have. Wright is hoarding a lot of players on the defense. Some of those big guys on the D-line need to be playing guard or tackle on the offense, like ASAP. If the linebackers can't tackle, 3-4 defenses don't work. Heck if the linebackers can't tackle, no defense really works. The DB's are getting burnt. They're fast but small. Most jump balls the WR is coming down with it, as our DB just gets pushed away. The offensive line. What can I say. Poor guys....looks like they're trying but they have been getting embarrassed. And where is the tight end in the offensive scheme? The quarterback is good baseball player. He unfortunately throws the football like a baseball most of the times when he is scrambling. Which is a lot due to the weak O-line. He doesn't really have time to throw dimes 30 yards downfield. So let him dump a few quick passes to the TE. Much less the behind the scenes turmoil. They have a lot of kids cutting corners and the coaches are rewarding them for it. Sad. Form of lowbrow manipulation in my opinion. Show these young men Christ more than just talking about it. Because we can always judge a tree by the fruit it bears........... They didn't play spring ball so they wouldn't be able to properly judge the upcoming JV and Freshmen. Well at least on gameplay. You know.....things like the ability to tackle. There is much more to football than 40 times, bench press, squats etc. And from my experience the strongest guy, or the guy with fastest 40 time on the team isn't always the best football player. Good measurable to track team progress but you shouldn't make your depth chart based solely on that........ I'm done. For now. Everybody on Facebook is trying to spray perfume on this crap. Glad they told me about this site.
