  3. Had a lot of fun at the ULL vs Lamar game… wish Lamar could get back to the Sun Belt… friendly people, great tailgating, best tailgate food had in a long time. Hope Lamar can continue playing them more often..

  4. 6 SLC schools went on the road to get a check. All 6 were soundly beaten including LU. SFA beat East Texas in the only conference matchip. LU heads to Idaho to play in one of the few college domed stadiums next week.

  5. Very tough loss but wake up tomorrow maybe. Altuve and Alvarez in big slump. Alvarez still hitting just not dingers. I liked it when they walked him to get to Paredes. That didn't work and that is when I thought we had it. Actually we 4 up because we hold the tiebreaker. If you want to look at it that way.

  9. A little bit. But 11am in early Sept is better than 2:30 as far as temp goes. I'm not liking getting up early Saturday morning and driving 2 hour 45 minutes to CS after being at a Friday night high school football game. Got to leave at 5am to get to tailgate spot by 8am. Going to be a long day for me.

Altuve entered today 4 hits shy of 2500 and picked up 3. Will likely get it on the upcoming road trip. Up and down season to say the least. Was hoping for a solid 4 game lead after the eeekend and now likely will be a 2 game lead.

  13. Steele has 4 FBS commits in the secondary but their front seven very small....offense has some pieces...two good RB's, good QB and a couple of good WR's...OL has one 2028 kid who is big time but rest of the OL is average......solid team that after the first three drives kinda settled in and went blow for blow...but the first quarter and a half was a disaster

  17. Alvin Mosley’s a problem. He’s a grown man among boys. PNG’s secondary is going to have to show who they really are this week. Crawford’s defense is really fast. Not very large. We’ll move the ball on them but we have to be smart. If we try to play home run derby against these guys we miss out on our advantages running the ball and our size in the trenches (we aren’t huge but we aren’t tiny either). We have to pound the rock to negate their speed in the secondary, improve tackling and secondary coverage, and maintain long drives that keep the ball out of Mosley’s hands. This is a very winnable game. We’re better than the other two teams Crawford has played this year. Our physicality on defense is going to be a new problem for them, and we have the best offense they’ve seen this season. We’ve prepared for this game. Crawford is fast, but so is PAM and PAM has way more size. So, we just need to fall back on the PNG staples: ball control, first downs, and defense.

  18. The defense has come along fine...offense well you said it need to get the ball in the hands of Gestring im also impressed with the play of the sophomore Clay i still think we make the playoffs im not ready to write us off just yet

  19. BC only scoring 16 points against Orangefield, well I'd say WOS' defense is a little better than Orangefield's. So I'd look for a WOS shutout or possibly 7-10 points against at the most. I'll predict at least 4 TD's from WOS.

    Nederland vs Silsbee

I watched the Nederland and WOS game. Nederland looked the worst I’ve seen. Not saying Silsbee will win because I feel like we have alot to work on.

  26. My weekly rankings: PAM GCM RSS La Porte PAM is obvious to me right now. Playing well, and handled their one tough opponent in PNG. GCM & RSS I’m sliding up because they’ve won their games. This is still questionable to me because neither have played a schedule where I can really judge. Lee should be an easy win for everyone, and Alvin hasn’t had a winning season in almost a decade. But, both squads have won the games on their schedules without much trouble. So, I have to give them credit. La Porte, I’ll still slot here. They’re 0-2. But, that’s with a young squad against the DCTF computer ranked #2 5A Crawford, and the #31 6A Deer Park. The OL still needs work, and to get the 2 injured back to full strength, and the D has got to start wrapping up. A lot of young players on the D that are going to have to grow up in a hurry. Out of all the district teams, the Dawgs have played the toughest schedule by far, and I pretty much expected them to go winless so far. It’s yet to be seen if these tough matchups have helped the youngsters grow for district play. In 2024, they started out 0-3 against tough competition and wound up 10-4 with the close loss 24-21 late in the rematch to district mate Angleton in the Regional Finals. I’m hoping they can catch fire like that again still.

  29. Games are won in the trenches. Woodville doesn’t have the trench warriors. All you talk about is skill kids. Dang back cannot do crap without trench warriors doing their job. You sir are a Curmudgeon.

  30. The score mechanisms shouldn't deter any discussion. I personally think it helps enhance the forum. I do agree to a point that it makes folks be a little lazy when having to search scores. Now all you have to do is look at title of game thread or the scoreboard for live score updates.

  31. What exactly did I say? Cause I never said coach Rob ruined Woodville. And if you saw the game yesterday you would know Woodville had more than enough talent to beat Buna easily

  32. That’s unfortunate, the banter back in the day was fun. All these Bot score mechanisms have taken the human element out of it

  35. png is now 1-7 against West Brook. I guess we can take some consolation in the fact that we’re undefeated against West Brook for the past 31 years.

    Trump Effect

Where is the shutdown. You want to argue over Silverado 5.3 with a towing capacity of 11,600lbs over a Ram 2500 Cummins Turbo Diesel 6.7 with a towing capacity of almost 20,000lbs?! We’ve had both in our family and it’s not even close when it comes to towing, durability, longevity and fuel mileage. Don’t you have a Trump Trophy you need to be whittling out of wood or ironing your Trump flag?
