Lol. I have been on this board from the start; way longer than you have, and a couple of other boards before this one. Believe me, your not going to hurt my feelings. But whatever personal axe you have to grind with the program or the coaches, you need to sort that out. There is a difference between constructive criticism and just being negative about everything, and you haven't said a positive thing about anything on here. You don't see me on here saying that Ned is going to win district or go deep in the playoffs but there are positives and negatives in every game especially when you have teenage boys playing.

Those were some fun times. Really enjoyed doing the play by for KFDM games. Sadly, that ship has sailed at KFDM. The parent company is just not interested in doing those type things anymore. Heck, they don't even do sports every night on their newscast. Sad

Gringo's is good; and I think I've been to SC BBQ, on the way home from golf at Cypresswood once, but it's been a while. I'm about 75% sure right now that I'll be at the PNG-WB game.

Obviously, you can’t say much negative about it. If you did, it would be kind of hypocritical. PAM vs. NS no hand shake game ring a bell? I guess it depends on if you think it’s just a game, or if you think some life lessons are supposed to be learned from the competition. If the coaches were the father figures for some of the players, would this be a lesson you’d want them to teach? I guess I’m an old schooler. My kid’s almost your age.

Making any type of agreement with a broadcaster has to be unsettling even after signed. So much technology and other factors causing things to come and go so quick over the past few years. Glad to not be in the position of those folks at the UIL. They will likely get ripped by people for making the deal, but as much as we all love Texas high school sports from a broadcast perspective it can't be a massive money maker. Finding a great and stable provider is likely extremely difficult. Who knows...

Don't forget that when you play in other states, you play by their rules. Texas uses NCAA rules while Florida uses NFHS rules. That being said, STA looked to be the far superior team all game.

Agree on Longview. But, Lufkin wouldn’t have beaten PN-G or Ft. Bend Crawford either. Both of them have D1 numbers, and will probably meet in the R3 Finals—barring major injuries. Crawford is like a magnet school for football right now in FBISD. Plus, those young men are seniors now, and have been playing together since the school opened. They have speed to burn. PAM is probably the only team that could match them across the board on speed. La Porte has some who can match. But, not as many as PAM. Still, as bad as La Porte played, down 2 OL, with TO’s & TWO safeties in the first half, it was a 3 point game in the 4th quarter. It wasn’t the blowout the final score makes it seem. La Porte will play another very solid opponent this week (6AD1 Deer Park) at their place in our major rivalry. The Dawgs are the only team in district to actually have a predistrict schedule with both opponents being formidable, PO teams in their respective classifications.

I wouldn’t call it being negative, I would call it being the truth. If that hurts your feelings , maybe you shouldn’t post. I take it giving up an average of about 40 points a game last year and 33 already this year is good defense. You might think so, but I sure don’t!

This is how you beat all star private schools when you're a public, by the way. Personally I want to see Texas compete for bragging rights to the best football in the country. Some people are okay with Texas staying in its insular-like little world. That's fine also. It's just a difference of opinions. Right now we're not even in the top 3 from what I've seen.

That's why she left, the writing was on the wall- Last years record playing a ridiculously weak schedule (after having 14 losses the year prior) nor any of the prior years records had anything to do with any xs and os coaching. Old coach lost to a 2A school so yeah.

John Curtis is at least relatively local students and only have about 350 students in the school, STA has players from all around the country and enrollment around 2000 students.

I don’t remember seeing any attempts to Reynolds (TE) or Godbolt-Carr at all. I did like the quick slant to Peyton that was called back for penalty. But, it was a solid play. Looked like Wells (QB) was just a step off on timing with Wallace (WR) and Smith (WR). I’d love to see a drag route underneath with the threat of Wallace & Smith deep. Wallace is going to be very good! As is Dieudonne. Seeing Quentin’s boy on the field just made me feel old. Quentin Sr. was a year behind my son. I actually thought the D was respectable for as young as they are, and being on the field so long. The more they play together, the better they’ll be. I think they have the potential to be better than last year by a lot. Just need the Varsity reps together. Nothing wrong with the DL. LB’s need experience. Wells (QB) reminded me of Austin Upshaw. His legs, and ability to extend plays will pay big dividends down the road. I also like that he knew when to throw the ball away. I do like the new scheme. It uses all the talent better. Slot T served its purpose for the personnel. But, the pistol/pro fits these young men better. Just need the OL to gel. That will come. Time is short though.

I am a realist, what I am not is constantly, and I mean constantly negative about the whole team all of the time. There is a difference. Please go get some coaching experience and then apply for a job there if you can do better.

I see ole BigDog doesn’t like reality. I simply stated that all these folks were talking about how good they were going to be this year with all the returners and these tremendous players from the JV and freshman teams. However they forgot that when you continue to lose, you get that loser’s mentality. They were about as bad as you can get last year and after watching the WB game they are still pretty bad and if you think they can compete against a much better team than WB, maybe you came from the moon. It is great to be for your team and I applaud you for that, however I think one needs to be realistic about a team and a program that has been poor the past several years. Again they have not played good defense since Delbert Spell retired and that has been a few years!

Feel free to go somewhere else then, I hear the moon is nice this time of year. Maybe Elon will let you hitch a ride.

Personally just don't see the benefit of teams playing all star teams. Particularly out of state all star teams. It's almost a case of apples and oranges. I wouldn't send any Texas team to play those guys. Kind of pointless.
