I've truly never had a more aggravating conversation in all of sports than this.. because of your ridiculous mentality on the subject. Hey genius... not me or anyone else is saying that Surratt isn't the best high school football coach to have ever done it. Nor is anyone saying that ANY coach could win if they had the right athletes. Nor is anyone saying that athletes started showing up when he got there. What is actually wrong with you to think that's the argument? How are you not understanding that it takes a combination of coaching AND talent? Not every school has talent... not the talent it takes to win a title. NO TALENT AT ALL. You said, "What in his head coaching history would make you think he couldn't?" That's easy.. it's nothing to do with him, personally. It's the literal countless examples of other coaches that are elite according to your own definition... that never sniffed another championship after reaching your level of elite. Even if you only use high school football examples.. which is stupid.. but whatever. Do you honestly think that Tom Westerburg is the only example? He's being used as the example over and over again just because it was a recent situation. Reaching elite status while at Allen, and then never even getting close to Cowboy Stadium again after leaving. That alone should be all the proof you need that not every coach can win a state championship at any school. But.. I'll give you this. Your heels are dug in to your opinion on this.

True. But, you do know the IRGC is still in control of the populace and weapons. You also know someone is still executing the people. I said when this started I had faith in our military and planners. I did not have faith in the conclusion, or this Administration’s plans for after the kinetic action. I stand by that still. I will be hopeful. But, not optimistic.

Question for you… the Rs won bigly in 2024. Why the sudden need to make over the election process? Why fix what isn’t broken? Because he’s about to lose, sir.

Texas just decided to not include the formatting of a citizenship line in their REAL ID TDL’s. Doesn’t matter. Unless you change your name or move, you’re already registered to vote. All you need to be able to vote is a photo ID. In this case, your new TDL is fine. You don’t need anything else.

quite frankly, the effort and time put in is lost on all but a handful of members. I made a pretty serious effort in the soccer forum several years back due to my soccer background, and the threads would get 1 or 2 responses from the same small handful of members. At some point the reward isn't worth the effort. I would love to see more posters take the initiative and post game threads and results for their schools.

Certainly not a well kept secret. But after learning last week who would be hired, I was asked not to announce until it is announced tomorrow. Everyone can be patient.

To answer the question as far as this website goes as to why the baseball coverage isn't as much as football and basketball, there are two specific reasons, One, our beloved admin Todd Broussard (WOSGrad) is no longer with us. Todd was the man that took care of pretty much everything here at SETXsports. He was the one who posted schedules, game threads, scores and standings for our coverage area teams in all our sports. It was a big loss for us when he passed away in August of 2021. Since then, we have never been able to completely fill his shoes. He was such a special person and we miss him dearly. Second, in the summer of 2022, I decided to retire (in hindsight, semi-retire) from the site. I had told my wife that when she retired as a school teacher, that I would retire with her so that we could spend more time at the beach together. I would no longer do any broadcasting and would take a step back from my admin duties. I told the owner (Jordan Wilson) that he would need to get some other mods to handle those duties. Jordan asked me to stay on for a little while until he could get others to take over. So I did. We had Bigdog and WOSdrummer99 take over the football forum as far as schedules, pickems, scores and standings. They have been a big help in that forum. Jordan went with a bot system to create game threads and the scoreboard thread. I helped when needed. Football forum is in good hands. As for basketball, several of the area basketball coaches were concerned that the basketball forum would die off without me tending to it. So they asked me to stay on and take care of that forum. I talked to Jordan about it and we agreed that I would handle that forum on my own with the understanding that after basketball season was over, I would not handle anything else until football season. I put a lot of love and effort in that forum and many folks have expressed their appreciation. But, those days are numbered as well. I honestly don't know how much longer I'll continue to take care of that forum. One, maybe two more years. We will see. As for the baseball forum, KF89 has done the best that he can with posting schedules and scores. I know how tough it is to try and do it all by oneself. It's really beneficial to have others invested in posting info in the forum. I was hoping other mods or members would help in that regard. A lot of truth has been stated in regards to the popularity of the three sports, particularly on this website. Football is definitely king and always will be. Basketball has always had more traffic on the site than baseball. I admit that part of that is how we (I) cover basketball much more than baseball. But even so, the basketball forum has 100,000 more posts in that forum than the baseball forum. It is what it is. KF89 is doing what he can but until we get others to commit to help out, the baseball forum will lack. Don't ask me, I am about to start my 4 1/2 month vacation from here. lol

Nobody is arguing that he’s not elite. He’s an incredible coach, easily argued as the best to ever do it in THSF. But the pieces had to be there for him to put the puzzle together. Warren is a $.50 garage sale puzzle with half the puzzle missing completely and 2/3 of what’s left being from the wrong puzzles. The greatest puzzle master in the world might be able to get the most out of those pieces, but he isn’t completing it.

I believe you need to use some of that compassion and forgiveness that your faith teaches that you were talking about earlier today. You are currently failing your test.

Pretty certain that everyone has said that SS is the greatest high school coach in Texas history. Still doesn't mean that he did not have some things go his way with a confluence of factors.

I stand by that a POTUS should not be making these kind of comments. Should be held to a higher standard. Us every day Joes, not so much. I want my President to show a little class in these type situations. Just completely unnecessary to make those comments.

My wife died yesterday. I’m being tested right now. A difficult test. His sanctimony set me off, though I don’t apologize for it. I hold no judgement or ill will and I ain’t mad. Chalk it up as another example of thoughtless remarks poisoning public discourse.
