Probably 15 years ago I heard Bill O’Reilly make a comment about this. His comment was something like, “Sure it should start at home. Yes there are some parents that do not do a good job. Should we simply abandon the children with bad parents?”.

The issue with this proposal--among many others--is that many people in the 60-64 year age range are retired either through choice, or otherwise, and HSA's are currently only available to people working and able to purchase a HDHP. If you can't open an HSA, there's no help. But, you're still stuck with the premiums and deductibles of ACA. Insurance for just my wife and I (both in the stated age range) will be $3409./mo. with a $4400 deductible in 2026. That's $45,000 a year for premiums and deductibles. Only one plan in all of GHA coverage area offers care at Houston Methodist where my wife receives care for her Parkinson's Plus. It's actually a non-profit run by the Harris County Health Dept., and it still costs that much. There are no other options that cover pre-existing conditions, and HM availability. A tax credit of some type would be a better option while the whole system is revamped. If people are on Social Security, it could help reduce income taxes. If people are living on their own savings and investments, it could also help reduce income/capital gain taxes. But, don’t pay the insurance companies directly. You would have to have the credit given off prior year’s income, and allow a specific type savings account the credit could be deposited into tax free for future premiums. Right now, HSA’s can’t be used for premiums. ACA was never about healthcare. It was always a ruse to move towards single payer. Democrats wanted control over our healthcare just like they want control over every other aspect of our lives.

This is what I do know. There are certain people in this fan base that don’t have any knowledge of football and no school spirit but just show up to cause confusion. This may be the case here, however, there seem to be belligerent people like this In all of our local fan bases.

Change has been needed for a long time. After the first takeover the community voted back in the same idiots who'd presided over the disaster originally. It's hard to help people who won't help themselves. The amount of quality teachers that have left the district in the last 15 years is staggering. There were 28 classrooms at the campus I taught at in Beaumont. I left 4 1/2 years ago, and there are only 9 teachers left from when I taught there. How does a school have a 66% turnover rate in less than 5 years? I'll tell you how... an awful administration and lack of teacher support. On that whole campus there are 6 teachers with more than 6 years of teaching experience. At my new campus in another district there are also 28 teachers. 20 of us have more than 6 years experience. We have 12 teachers with 20 years of experience or more. Keep in mind that this district pays significantly less that BISD. There are dozens of teachers of the year in this area that spent time in Beaumont who took pay cuts to work elsewhere. If I'd been treated decently I would've worked my entire career at the school I started at. I loved my job, but hated the situation. BISD needs a complete overhaul, starting at the top.

Newton by a country mile in the state championship. Doesn't matter who they play. Wall and Gunter could combine teams and the figs would still win in my opinion! In addition, I wish they could play right after in the D1 game. I'd put money up that they'd win that one also.

As bad as they still are, I'm seeing some improvements in the Tigers. The points per game has started to go up from a miserable barely over 50 a game. Still got a lot of work to do. We've got a really good dunker in Williams. Posterized an HJ kid a few days ago. I'd like to see him attacking the rim as much as possible and in transition. Humble actually looks like a pretty good team from their schedule, so at least we didn't get a 30 or 40 piece put on us.

This is one of the worst passing teams I have seen Silsbee have in a very long time. Turn it over at a very alarming rate. Decision making under pressure is not good. Tigers are now 0-7 on the season.

I did a little research.... There are 1207 ISD's in Texas - in recent history 15 have been took over by the TEA - Beaumont TWICE. The school district is basically blaming the parents, I can't count the number of "it starts at home" comments I read last night. While I agree it starts at home, for me, it is difficult to NOT blame BISD when of the 1207 districts, 1192 OTHER districts have not had to be bailed out. So one of two things are true, Beaumont has horrible parents as a whole that does not care about their kids, or BISD has poor leadership and is not doing what it should to make sure the kids get the proper education that the tax payers are paying for.......I'll go with the latter.......

Some say those type teams can never win a game when trailing by 14 or more in the 4th Q. Joaquin was down 28-14 with 11 minutes left in game. Scored 23 unanswered while never completing a pass.

They have 4 players out due to injury, still should have won this game but being healthy is more important.

The margin of error on WOS is 12 pts and its been wrong about us 4x. Most importantly the last 2 weeks. This team is playing with intangibles that cant be measured with artificial intelligence. But what i see is a team playing at their prime in the most important time of the season

Elon is a very interesting guy. I once watched an interview of him and the reporter asked him how many patents he had on all of his endeavors. SpaceX, Boring Company, Neuralink, Tesla and AI. His answer to the reporter was he had zero patents. He said patents are for cowards. If someone thinks they can make a better product then bring it on. I was shocked that he didn’t have any patents. I really don’t believe the guy is motivated by money. He is a different kinda dude.
