I think Manvels decline began when Shadow Creek opened.

Kirk Martin came back so now Manvel has the same coach they had those years when they were great but their enrollment area is only about 1/5 of what it used to be. Most of the great athletes were coming from the Shadow Creek Ranch subdivision while it was being built which now has its own high school. The explosive growth has always been down HWY 288 and now Manvel just lost the fastest growing part of its attendance zone to Iowa Colony High School. Manvel’s offense looked pretty bad last night but just three years ago Carson White who’s IC’s sophomore QB would’ve lived in Manvel’s attendance zone and along with a few of their other prospects made that a completely different game. One of the downsides of coaching in a growing district like that is potentially getting a smaller piece of the pie which Manvel is feeling now.

He may have a statue at CP, but the Broncos have probably had this one circled since the schedule was put out. He'd better have his kids prepared tonight. The 'good coaches" will likely have Dayton ready, as well. We'll find out a lot tonight, one way or the other.

Fort Bend Marshall 27 Friendswood 23. A fake Punt turned it around for Marshall in the third Quarter( I Think third Quarter.)Johnson was erratic throwing the ball the 1st half but was on all cylinders the 2nd half. Friendswood had a good game plan to run the ball but it seemed the offensive line tired in the second half.Friendswood ran a quick play attack and caught Fort Bend off Guard. Johnson is a HuGE QB and has some nifty small receivers ( Ferguson ) was one.On a bad note Fort bend lost a receiver who was take by ambulance. Friendswood lost their QB ( Butler ) around the start of the 4th quarter.Had a terrible limp, don't know extent of injury.Friendswood always seem to come to play hard.Marshall 's speed and Johnson arm was too much

Eisenhower has a really good soph. RB. He had over 120 yards rushing last night. Their O-line dominated WB up front. Bruins never had an answer for Ike's counter plays. QB was very mobile and helped extend plays when needed. Eisenhower not a bad team. West Brook offense is a struggle. The soph. QB will need time to grow. Threw 2 picks last night. Bruin run game was ineffective. Ike's front 4 was able to control line of scrimmage. WB has to get better up front to have any success this season. Bruins finished with less than 120 yards of total offense. BTW, Ike's QB from Warren started the game. Played first series then was replaced by #2 who was much more dynamic. He was the QB that I was told to be the starter.

I think they sat home last year. They were 5-5 on the season and on,y return 4/3 from the team. GB returned like 9/8 from last year,

Ok. I might get some flack about this but imo I think if a student transfers in to a school he should sit out 1 year of all varsity sports. He must also live in the district in which he’s going to. He can play Jv are under just not varsity level the year he transferred in. They should not be any exceptions to the rule.

you've seen the HF defense play? I feel like this is a "no." HF defense has been fairly dominant in their scrimmages so far, from what I've seen with my own eyes and also heard. I'm not saying they've played great offenses, but nobody has made them "look poor" up to this point. we'll see what LCM does against them with their big O-line. And about this explosive offense... 5 of their 6 wins last year came against teams with a 7-44 record, and the only reason they managed 7 wins between them was because BC beat two 3A teams and there were four games where two of the five teams played each other and someone had to win. LCM played 4 solid teams last year (if we count WOS), and averaged about 8 points a game in those contests. So have they grown so much this season that they're now "explosive?"

defense should still be pretty salty, but you're right, they lost some key guys. it's my understanding there are some solid pieces moving up as well, though. Pirtle is also back and healthy, and should be starting somewhere in the secondary. he's a ballplayer.
