After watching highlights of LH, the Indians will have their hands full. Their big OL pull & get in front of the RB quick. I see why they put up so many points. They run that Slot T like a machine. Indian LB’s will have a long and brutal night. And when the RB breaks free, they have blockers 30 & 40 yds downfield on the DB’s & Safeties. Not pulling any punches here, PNG D will need to play lights out. Going to need a few stops and put points on the board (almost) every possession. May be a last possession ball game. They’ll score, and a bunch. Simply have to outscore them. Over/Under will be high. Last time I predicted a high scoring game I think the total was 27, so don’t go calling Caesar’s Palace and betting the house on Over, lol.

Watched LH / Flour Bluff game. PNG should be fine on offense. But they may want to hire CT this week to stop that LH hide the ball offense. PNG for the win , always liked Purple and White , West Orange Chiefs !

I would say a more PREPARED group of kids. Lots of kids back from last year, but the defense is 100% better. This years team is a TEAM. The DC has done excellent preparation for each game. The kids are in the right places at the right times, but all that is nothing if they can't tackle, and like Chief Joseph said, these kids are playing with great effort. GREAT EFFORT. You can see it, you can FEEL it in the stadium. Every struggle in every game makes them better. This team has FIGHT and they don't give up. I think that's a credit to the Coaches, the players, the parents, and the community. But you know all this. You're a PNG Indian. Has anyone noticed that there are no names on the backs of jersey's? I like it. They usually have them on for the 1st playoff game.

We started getting in full weeks of practice, for one, and the kids acclimated to the new system. People forget that the Memorial game was the first game under a new head coach who wasn’t able to get in all the practice he wanted due to the weather leading up to that game. There were a lot of people, including a few on this site, that doubted the new coach after that game. What did I tell y’all then? Be patient. Patience is paying big dividends right now.

Vidor does the exact same thing. Sprint to the line and usually immediately snaps it a split second after being set. It’s a thing of beauty when the timing is perfect….but when it’s not you see a lot of false starts. Vidor, Orangefield and a lot of other coaches meet in Liberty Hill every summer. It’s the home of the Slot-T Mafia.

Offensive line is rather large and lazy.

It will be a completely different offense to prepare for, but I’m sure PNG will be ready. I expect this game to go to the wire, similar to that Crosby/LH 2020 5th round classic. I’ll call it a Toss-up.

Officiating didn’t cost Silsbee the game. Silsbee cost Silsbee the game. Blaming the officials is always the easy way out. They clearly missed some calls, they always do. Unfortunately, they missed some big calls. It’s part of every game. If Silsbee plays 2 halves of football, it doesn’t come down to a missed call, they run away with the game. How do you go from giving up 7 points, 24 minutes in, to giving up 41, 24 minutes later? Cuero made much better adjustments offensively than Silsbee did defensively. For as great as Silsbee was on offense, to lay an egg at the end of the game was unfortunate. The officials didn’t do that either. IMO, Silsbee had the better players, and football team. Cuero had the better staff, and made better adjustments. Who’s to say that Silsbee woulda stopped Cuero if they would have ruled the QB down? Football still has 3 phases and Silsbee was outplayed in special teams, and you can say that cost them the game.

Kyle Field is about the midway point for both teams. But I guess A&M didn’t allow them to play there because they didn’t want to be shown up by two high school teams that would show them how real football is played.
