I cannot even describe how proud this makes me! My daughter set a goal when we moved to Port Neches in the 7th grade to be a part of the first team to hang a banner up in the gym and she also had set a personal goal to be able to continue to play basketball after high school. She can now put a check mark next to both of those goals! Now go win a District Championship!

I noticed a change on the oline this past week... didn’t pay close attention to it but it was on the side that has really been struggling this year... IMO there’s not much effort from some... oline is usually not something I worry about much, as they are always coached up so well and are steady getting better. Not this year. Dline struggles 2...

In your first sentence you say the Deer Park loss to LaPorte crushes WB hopes of going D2 again but in your 2nd sentence, you say Channelview will battle for the 4th spot. If Channelview gets in WB goes D2. Channelview getting in last year is the reason why WB went D2.

Following SETX football, one could not help but to recognize the similarities between the two Pirate football teams here. Vidor and Deweyville. What do these two programs have in common? Obviously, they share the Pirate mascot. Both Pirates seem to always be the underdogs, no matter the opponent. Both Pirates are considered small in their respective districts. Pirates generally give up size, speed and talent to their opponents. Pirates have no quit. Pirates play with all heart. Pirates have no fear. Pirates are tough and resilient. Pirates are bought-in to their programs and have a deep-seated loyalty to each other and their Coaches. If Coach Matthews or Coach Prouse asked their young men to attack a nuclear submarine, all you'd hear was the splash of the warriors hitting the water. Obviously we're not getting sized for our State Championship rings but if you appreciate a hard working, hard hitting, never give up, gut-it-out type of football team...y'all are always welcome, we'll save you a seat. It's a great day to be a Pirate.

Sounds like someone has taken a few butt kickins from EC. All of this rhetoric that you are throwing out there definitely needs to be aimed at your team. Do you want to know why EC comes off as "arrogant" to people outside of Winnie, it's because they believe that they can win any game that they are playing. If you go into the game passive and "hoping" to win, then the odds are not in your favor. Every winning program has that "arrogant" attitude. I don't care where they are from, but they have it. Just look at arguably the greatest QB of all time, Tom Brady, he plays with that arrogant, I'm better than you attitude. I am an EC graduate, and I can tell you, EC used to be the homecoming game for everyone. If you don't like how the BUCS act, then have your team beat them.

Orangefield has a chance to beat EC; the key is turning the game into a street fight. EC is playing at Orangefield, defend your your home turf. The opportunity to win is too big and the return is even greater. When they come into your stadium with all that flash and glitter; knock them on their butts; when they get up, put them on their butts again. You are playing at home; play the most physical game you have ever played. Tackle harder, block harder, and run harder than you have ever played. If you do this, and each of the next opponents follow suit; you know what the results will be. It is time to earn some respect from EC. They don't respect you, the district, or the rest of Southeast Texas. You never here people talk about how tough they are. This is your chance; hit them in the mouth! That is how you handle a bully. If they are handled this way every week the results will be enormous. The rest of the district is not EC fans; we are fanatical about Souteast Texas football. Stepup and hit the bully in the mouth. Orangefield this is your chance, EC is expecting a football game where they put on the mgreatest show on turf. When the ball is kicked, let the street fight last for four quarters. Lol, you’re correct, thus my use of the word “might”. Many have stated on here that the Dist is very weak. I doubt we match up with some very strong Districts, but do you think it’s any weaker than in the past? Obviously Crosby & Santa Fe (and Ned?) are, but Lee is better, and IMO, Vidor is better than most expected.

This team is not a team. All you have to do is watch the sidelines. Cancer spreads quickly.

Newton is a good example of this. Their economy has been awful for as long as I can remember. I think a lot of those kids work so hard because football is a way to move forward. The pros are unlikely, but a lot of those guys get good opportunities to play and get an education in college. Jasper is similar, but recently a couple of companies have brought in new jobs so things are looking up.

It's a football game not a track meet, so I think the raiders will be fine. We have enough speed to play with anyone in our district, as long as the players execute the way they have been coached. If our offense can keep from getting behind the chains with penalties, the Raiders should win in a close game.

Well I'm hoping for a great game.i thought last year silsbee team had jelled together real nice.and they were scary on both sides of the ball. This years defense doesn't impress me at all.poor tackling and secondary that isn't playing well.by w.o with these slow starts expect them to do alot of no huddle to get the QB going early.silsbee backs will get yards. But not like last year. And I be hoping silsbee at least try to throw something different besides a deep jump ball.bcz w.o running zone they would have opportunities.and if they concentrate on 41. #3 is back to full strength.and they must tackle him. #41 will get his no matter what.i really can't see w.o turning the ball over inside there own territory against this team bcz of the talent on offense. Bcz them T/O has cost them in the newton and Nederland game. Can't turn the ball over against gud teams.

That’s me. And we held a Silsbee team in check running wise for pretty much the whole game, a Silsbee team with arguably one of the better overall backfields in 4A. Lots of talent. But you’re right, pass defense never has been the best and Huffman will be a good test... so we’ll see

Question everything is like the truth is out there. I can entertain natural causes and keep all possibilities open. I am not too narrow minded to blindly follow whack jobs. I would mortgage the farm for Cole. Keep Springer, he would be mvp if not missed a month. Correa has not lived up to the potential and cant seen to stay healthy. With that being said, he looked great last night. I like Reddick, but tucker is cheaper and a better long term investment. Tucker is only 22 and has some growing up to do. That 1 AB last night was horrible.
