I have sat in the jury room on three trials. The rationale that juries can come up with after listening to testimony from the witness stand, is at times amazing. I don’t care how good of a case I could make in defense and how much the evidence was on my side, I would never want my fate in front of a jury.

You give yourself a moral pass. Now that is some kind of flexibility. There is a word to describe it. Can you guess what it is?

The law on self defense in Texas says that the use of deadly force is justified if the person using the force reasonably believes that it is the force is necessary. Of course a jury will look at it and determine if the person had a “reasonable” fear. In my opinion, by law it is to be viewed from the perspective of the person using the force at that moment. That is why it says that “he” reasonably believes. Then under Texas law, a person isn’t required to prove self defense. The state is required to prove that it wasn’t and beyond a reasonable doubt. So there was no reasonable doubt of fear when your car is surrounded by a mob and a guy is walking toward you with an AK47?

I think that his comments is what he was convicted on. Had they not had that, he probably wouldn’t have been convicted. That is one reason that I do not talk about what I would do. If you make an off the cuff comment like, “If that happened to me, they wouldn’t need an ambulance, they would need a hearse”…. then later you are in a maybe different situation but resort to deadly force, don’t be so sure they someone won’t find that comment and use it against you. “He has obviously been waiting for the opportunity to kill someone” or worse…. the opportunity to kill one of those people. (whoever “those” may be)

I dont doubt that he is improving, he clearly looked like he will be a great player. He was one of the better JV players I saw last year (probably was the best). Just did not see anything indicating that he should have more P4 offers than Kavian Bryant who is in the same class of 2027. Cant wait to see him take some varsity snaps. Not trying to be offensive. *** Clearly those D1 colleges see it different. Their opinions are the ones that count.

You’re like the guy who is pulling a trailer and decides to race another vehicle. If you lose, you say it’s because you were pulling a trailer. If you win, you say I beat you and I was pulling a trailer. It’s a win/win situation when one doesn’t commit. A safe space if you will.

That’s the crazy thing… the charges aren’t false-you just give trump a pass for his misdeeds and can’t comprehend that everyone else isn’t as flexible as you are morally.

Cohen……a lying, backstabbing pos who does nothing but lie every time he opens his mouth. Let him utter words the prosecution wants to hear, and we can convict. Cohen told his ex advisor that he wanted to kill himself. What a worldly loss that would be. It was and remains perfectly timed and choregraphed Kangaroo Court, whatever Cohen just said or lied about. I haven’t been watching closely, but even the liberal sources even tell the story as “the defense really took apart Cohen’s testimony on Thursday.” It sounds like sloppy work from the prosecution to point out a specific call as being “the one,” when it was easily concluded that this particular call could not have occurred the way that Cohen (and the prosecution) claim it to have happened. The bad news is that I doubt that it matters much-I suspect that most jurors minds were closed before testimony started. I don’t see Trump leaving with anything less than a conviction based on the venue (NYC).

Tough case all the way around. The guy had a lot of online activity come out where he made racist statements and statements about killing BLM protesters and looters. So when he then goes out and does it, it looks really bad. I've seen a lot of videos where people have driven through protestors, defended themselves against them, etc., and didn't bat an eye. This feels different, but that doesn't necessarily make it murder, either. His account of the events that happened vs. the witness accounts were both very different, but I'd also expect both sides' accounts to be self-serving and inaccurate to fit their narrative. Not really sure what to think on this one.

My Take: The State spent two days acknowledging that Cohen lied all the time but now he has come clean,,,,,,,it took the defense (having same evidence state had), just a few hours to confirm Cohen lied to the current jury a couple days ago...... While I thought initially Trump would be found guilty due to venue, with best case a hung jury, there is now a pretty good chance he will be acquitted...... Thoughts anyone?? [Hidden Content]

If I recall at that time you had protestors all all over the country jumping on cars while people were in them......While I agree it was stupid shooting him, how do you know what a guy is going to do walking up to you with an exposed gun? At the time I thought it was justified simply because you can't know the drivers level of fear......

He is definitely a good looking player and I have no doubt that he is going to be a good QB in the future, but I find it shocking that he has those offers. I would expect a D1/P4 player to dominate 3A JV competition and he did not (at least to the level of that caliber of recruit).
