  1. Past hour
  2. Nederland could easily be 0-3 right now. The 2 wins were squeakers against 4A teams.
  3. You live way too close to Mama Jack's to need a football game to get you over there to eat.
  4. Snapshot day is the day before Gunner starts recruiting local players so they do not count on their enrollment. They are on the bubble and want to stay in 3A2 ln lieu of going to a higher bracket. They have UIL Guardian angles watching over them.
  5. This will be only the 4th meeting between Silsbee and West Brook. Silsbee currently leads the series 2-1. Last year was the first time WB has ever played Lumberton. Nothing traditional about any of these matchups. After going 1-9 and 0-10, let's just say the coaching staff was looking for more wins to give the team some confidence. I get what you are saying. WB is 5A DI (and that is only two years, was 6A 3 years ago). I look for WB to schedule a little better next realignment.
  6. Today
  7. Just an honest question. How does it help BWB to play 4A DII Silsbee or 4A DI Lumberton football teams in non-district? I mean Silsbee might be a real good #10 4A DII team, but I could never see Lufkin, PAM or BH playing those classification teams. DCTF has Silsbee a 3 point favorite. Again, just asking. I mean Lufkin only plays 5A DII Nacogdoches out of tradition only and that game is rarely close. Maybe these are also traditional games for BWB from way back, I do not know the history there.
  8. Send them to Bellville if they wanna run right and run left and win some games 🀣
  9. Nope sure don't. Last year was a losing year with a lot of upperclassmen. *Point being... Freshman, Sophomore, Jr. Sr., whatever.... They do not want to play for this coach. Kids are smart enough to see what a coaching change did for programs like OF, BC, LCM.
  10. Not many teams that rely on sophomores win a lot of games.
  11. Coaching is a skill. You have to know when to rest certain players, no matter how good they are. Especially the big guys.
  12. Yes. Those kids are good too... but from the rumblings on the streets, I wouldn't be surprised if a few of them quit football and stick to baseball and basketball. And the kids who would be the ones to quit are skill players. Honestly, I don't blame them. Who wants to run right and left all game and get beaten down game after game? And before people get on here and talk about "the spread"... I'll be the first to say Vidor does not need to be a spread offensive team. Does that mean we have to stick with the slot-t, no? There are plenty of offensive variations where you can still be a run-heavy team.
  13. I know this thread has been derailed but still good discussion. Last week vs LaPorte... #9 Ruffin was playing both ways, LB and RB. On defense he was taking a beating from LT Wolford when he wasn't making plays. By the 4th Quarter he spent a lot of time on the sidelines looking worn down.
  14. Doesn’t Vidor currently have a lot of sophomores playing?
  15. When I saw Bellville vs Hitchcock on the docket I knew something was up lol
  16. I agree to a slight extent... Yes, kids are soft and have been soft for a while, but one thing about past Vidor coaches is that they always got kids to play above their potential. Murphy and Mathews would have kids running through brick walls for them. I remember Dan Hooks saying that there was one thing you could always count on when playing Vidor... Vidor is going to hit you in the mouth for 4 quarters... well, for the past couple of years, that has not been true. This HC does not excite his players. He does not have them motivated... and anyone who has teenagers or deals with teenagers knows that you have to keep them engaged and motivated. They get sidetracked pretty easily lol and once they are sidetracked it's hard to reel them back in... especially when kids see their friends on other teams like a BC or OF who are both having success after hiring new coaches. To sum it up.... The kids do not want to play for this coach. Period.
  17. Thank you πŸ’ͺ🏾😎
  18. I'll be tuned into the result of that one.
  19. Big facts! Btw: I seen that man switch up his offense 3 straight seasons to accommodate his talent pool and was successful.
  20. #1 Celina vs #1 Franklin in Alvarado.... But thinking about going to watch 6 man Gordon play its first 11 man game vs Thorndale instead.
  21. Week 4 is the big bye week for our coverage area teams. A total of 36 teams (of the 82 coverage area) have a bye this week. Here are the teams that are off this week: 23-6A (Goose Creek Memorial, Channelview, North Shore, Humble, Atascocita, Summer Creek, Kingwood, CE King) 11-5A DI (Angleton, Crosby, FB Kempner, Friendswood, Kingwood Park, La Porte, Porter, Pasadena) 8-5A DII (Dayton, Huntsville, Montgomery, Lake Creek, Nederland, West Fork, Port Neches-Groves, Splendora) 10-4A DI (Bridge City, Hardin-Jefferson, Huffman, Liberty, Livingston, Lumberton, LC-M, Vidor) East Chambers Colmesneil Hull-Daisetta Timpson This week will have the fewest games on the schedule until the playoffs start. @WOSdrummer99 you had to really reach for pickem games this week. LOL
  22. I completely agree. Very accurate.
  23. Neuman was all for playing the skilled guys both ways...It's tougher on the big guys, normally situational for them.
  24. Via the internet, Euless Trinity v SLC and Memorial v Cleburne
  25. Be interested to see what the outcome of this one will be.
