Rapid county growth: Dayton is located in Liberty County, one of the fastest-growing counties in both Texas and the United States. Between July 2023 and July 2024, Liberty County saw a 5.4% population increase. Between 2020 and 2025, the county is projected to grow by 29.64%

Today’s defensive performance was embarrassing. Can’t cover and can’t stop the run. The offense did enough to win but the last drive was awful. 3 screens for negative yards and never got the ball back. 2-3-1 after 6 games is not good!!!

Angleton (6-0, 3-0) will be on the road Thurday night against Kingwood Park (3-3,1-2). They have played 4 times before with Angleton winning all 4. The 1st year they played twice with Angleton beating them in Humble in non district and then again at home in bi-district. They played pretty well in the 1st quarter at Crosby, but couldn't keep it up, losing 52-7. Once again, their defense seemed to give way like in some other games they have played. They have a tall QB named Pavlotos and a small RB Wolocko. The game will be streamed on Texan Live.

Looking at their stats, the QB from last year (Dellinger) who was 2nd on the team in rushing last season with 900 yards (leading rusher with 1622 graduated) is again 2nd on the team in rushing with 592 yards. They have a RB (Davis) with 622 yards and another RB (Coyle) with 398. The QB has the most carries on the season with 72. White leads them in receiving with 7 receptions for 118 yards on the year. Last year it was the RB Stephens with the 1700 yards in offense and 18 TD's. Now it's a combination of 2-3. But the QB seems to be the man on most occasions. I understand you having a little bias with this particular Shepherd team with having family on the team, including yourself. It's understandable.
-
Porter's stretegy is to use ball control and QB Sngletary, who is dual threat and has a big, good RB Binford and they are pretty efficient at keeping a drive going but probably eventually they will give way when turnovers, speed, or special teams will give them problems. Shouldn't be a problem for La Porte.

Shepherd has a drastically different team than what was seen last year including two RBs and their FB. Shepherd OL is significantly upgraded as well. They may not win the games but I wouldn’t put much stock in what was seen last year.
-
You are correct. Hardin is right on the edge. If HJ and Liberty stay down it could push Shepherd north or southwest. Crockett is also likely to drop as well which would likely remove AS, Trinity and NW.
-
I couldn't even stomach watching WV's defense past the 2 minute mark on the highlights. Absolutely atrocious! Of course not taking away from Newton's explosive offense and elite players, but seriously, WV's defense (or lack thereof) is mind boggling!
-
Yea, you have to actually tackle those Newton backs. Can't just bump em and they magically fall to the ground. First and maybe the last time we face backs that run that hard this year. Meanwhile our main back didn't hardly get any touches at all

After watching those highlights: did Woodville forget how to tackle properly??? -
Tarkington is set to drop and I was told Hardin is on the 3AD2 bubble. Then, there's always Woodville and Warren as to where they will land? I dont know much about Liberty or HJ but if they stay D2 where they belong, it will certainly make things interesting with the remainder of the d2 and d1 beaumont area teams.

Silsbee, 42-0
-
Last year, Shepherd was averaging 355 yards rushing per game going into Silsbee game. Tigers held them to 215. WO-S held them to their 2nd lowest rushing total of 223 yards. The other 8 games Shepherd rushed for 300+. I like WO-S in this one, 30-13
-
In Silsbee's case, they defend the run very well. Pass, not so much but getting better. Shepherd averages 340 yards rushing per game out of the Wing offense. 32 yards passing. I like Silsbee in that match up.

Silsbee in the trenches remind you of bigger classification OL. They will win a ton of games with their two fronts. -

Team stats HF Silsbee rushing 19/25 yds 50/348 yds passing 19-27, 189 yds 3-7, 30 yds total 46 plays/214 yds 57 plays/378 yds Silsbee held HF to just 1.3 yards per rush. It was also the first time this year that HF didn't rush for 100+ yards. The 214 total yards was the fewest that HF has had all season. Next lowest was against Crawford when they had 255. HF came into the game averaging 387 yards total offense (203 rushing, 184 passing) The 20 points was also the lowest score for HF this season. (came in averaging 35 points per game) Seven of those points came on the little Hail Mary pass on final play of game against Silsbee's 2nd team. Tiger defense really showed out. Silsbee run game was dominant. -
