  4. The only way that can happen is more consistant hitting. I beliieve hitting on our part can overcome our so so pitching. We'll see what we are actually made of at this point in the season starting tonight. Rumors of Paredes being back this week but where to put him. BTW Altuve day to day
  5. Houston has to go at minimum 4-2 this week. Take both series. This is the biggest week of the season.
  6. Lumberton beat Jasper last time in 2010. 15 years.

  8. I got faith that things will get sorted. If im wrong i am wrong, but we will see how it looks at seasons end. Could be very wrong but i dont think a new scheme and new coach will just magically fix things. Do i think the scheme needs tweaking? Sure, always open to adjustments and changes, but i can tell you its not just “bad coaching”. The kids are soft, and if things are going to get right they need to step up and make it happen. Until then no coach will have any better success. But nobody wants to have that conversation. Easy route is blame coaches instead of the kids not taking it seriously. Anyways, theres my ted talk, thanks for reading. 😂
  9. A long time ago a coach told me that you always want your best players on the field at all time. Which obviously make sense. Last year for Nederland, Tezeno played both ways and did a good job. Not sure of anyone else. I know Thomas went in on defense on long yardage passing downs. But, you did want him full time on defense.
  10. Today
  11. AAW what is your prognosis. Treatment options
  12. Make fun of the workouts that are the same as Jeffs? look i by no means think a change isnt needed In some facet of the program. Regardless of the state of the program ill be there supporting. At some point you have to look at it as maybe the product on the field isnt purely from a lack of coaching. Always been in agreement that program numbers are struggling, but if the schoolboard makes a change is up to them, all us fans can do is complain, and if they listen to us they do, if they dont then we are stuck with what we got. All we can do is see what happens this year and see if a change is made in the offseason or not
  13. In both LP games, they had TO’s on the first drive inside the opponent red zone, or end zone. I’m more concerned about the D giving up an average of ~30 ppg with very poor tackling.
  14. I know I typed Aubrey but my post left it out.
  15. I agree. If you have special players. Let them play where it helps the team when needed.
  16. 40 year drought ended wow
  17. Angleton will try to figure out why they lost 3 fumbles last week at Foster after only having one turnover in their first two games. They still have not had an int. Foster would not have scored otherwise. La Porte will try to determine why in 2 of their games they got off to such a slow start. K park will try to find a defense somewhere. So far, they haven't been seen. They even allowed Clear Lake which doesn't have much offense to score 47 points. Pasadena and Kempner will try to prepare themselves mentally for losing every game to the other six. Crosby needs to keep working as despite the 3 losses, they seem to be headed to the playoffs again. They did better against Dayton than did Porter and much better than K Park did. They also did better against FB Marshall than did Friendswood. Friendswood seems to be rolling with 2 easy wins and will use this week figuring out how to maintain that momentum. But don't count out Porter just yet.
  18. Yepp, even a secondary full of Ed Reed and Darrelle Revis clones wouldn't do very well in coverage if the opposing QB could sit in the pocket unbothered all game.
  19. I haven't seen the Dragons play in a few years.
  20. The state of the Vidor program is very bad, the numbers keep getting worse every year. Vidor will never be PNG but they can be relevant. I have never seen so many kids that would be starters or get key playing time just walk away from the program like i have in the last few years. Dubois is a problem plane and simple the kids do not respect him and make fun of his work outs. That could be why we are sucking eggs in the first quarter. At least with Jeff running the program the numbers stayed steady, the kids loved him and would run through a brick wall for him and was always in shape. Vidor needs a change before it gets worse. They wont be bridge city, lcm, or huffman, i doubt they beat livingston and would be shocked if they lose to lumberton. at best Vidor goes 3-7 this year and misses the playoffs. Blow it up and start over, not saying the first guy would be the right guy but it cant get much worse. Everyone keeps talking about this sophomore class if things dont change soon i bet several of those kids leave the program for baseball. They are way better at baseball than football.
  21. Darth is hitting all the points on what I’m trying express… Don’t recall to many straight 2 way starters and Never coming off the field.. but there is some kids that could be plugged in when we need a big stop/extra pass rush to offensive side with short yardage need that 1-3 yards, extra blocker on the line (jumbo package) and etc.. these are pure examples but things that need to be addressed. Like the elephant in the room Nederland needs to find a quality running back to get #10 a breather and not run him to the ground…
  22. For PNG, I’d like to see the O-line continue to gel in the run game. La Porte was a big leap forward in how we moved the ball on the ground. I was worried we’d get stuffed all four quarters. The secondary needs work, of course, but it’s much better than last year and the open-field tackling has been back to 2022-2023 form. I hope the state ranking and the big win over La Porte don’t cloud our vision. It’s a tough district, and preseason records don’t tell us everything about how a season will go. I haven’t seen much of Dayton, and nothing from the two Montgomery schools. I think Lake Creek is down from last year. We’ll find out next week. Just going off game results (and Dayton’s first game, which I was able to watch) Dayton and Montgomery are looking good. Huntsville has some issues, especially tackling and the blocking has been spotty, but they’re fast and big and if they tighten up they should be solid. Nederland has to figure out some offense. Until we see if that happens, it’s hard not to wonder what will happen against district opponents. West Fork looks fundamentally sound - I think they’ll surprise some people. Splendora is Splendora.
