I haven't heard a thing but I see that a couple of people in the know haven't responded with a no so I take that as a good sign as the young man may want to keep it quiet for now.

Johnson to LU would be a major get and could turn this FB program into an imediate SLC title contender. Just think he will go FBS in TX or LA somewhere. ULL, UNT, UH, SMU.

Maybe but that means sitting the bench another year. He is a freshman redshirting then have to sit out due to NCAA transfer rules. That also means he'll lose a year of eligibility.

Johnson wouldn't have to sit our a year because he's transferring from an FBS school to an FCS school. He's eligible as soon as he commits to Lamar. If he were transferring to Baylor or another lateral school, then he would lose a year of eligibility.

I wouldn't think that the sitting out another year and having 3 years of eligibility thing would be an issue for him if he still wants to play and showcase his skills at the highest level (FBS). But who knows. I am sure we would all welcome him with very, very, open arms as a Cardinal!!!

AggiesAreWe, thanks for posting the links to the youtube videos as I had never seen Jeremy Johnson play. I just went by what others said about him. After watching the videos he is the real deal and Lamar's offense would definitely improve with him at QB if he were to transfer here.

So he was QB of a team that has been to the playoffs 10+ years in a row and they made the playoffs and lost in the 1st round both seasons. BIG TURN AROUND!
Didn't they actually win that 1st round matchup the year before (2008)?

Well he was a major part of turning the basketball program around. But this is football. He will be good if he mans up. He has to work hard. No question the talent is there. He can't expect his talent to be enough. He has to work hard for him to ever see the field. If he does he'll have a chance to play. Maybe even at qb but realistically tight end, d end, or if he puts on wait o line.
