Cool....was just wondering, not judging. I know rankings are very subjective.

I’m not curious enough to die...lol. But, Nederland has 3 total losses with 2 of them being to #2 state ranked United!! I get that Nederland lost to BH at home...but Crosby and Lumberton (both ranked higher) lost to Nederland at home. And Silsbee, they’re 10-10 😲

I’m curious what criteria you use for your rankings. I see Nederland at 14 but they have beat 4 teams raked ahead of them. (HJ, Lumberton, Crosby and West Brook)

I agree if they’re quitting for health or safety reasons, but for anything else...quitting is quitting. College players are opting out once their team’s chance of playing for a championship is over. That’s quitting.

Maybe the “opt out” culture, that’s been prevalent in college and pro sports this year, has now spread to HS sports. Many college football players have quit on their teams this year. The transfer portal plays a big part in it too.

There have been many examples througout history where well-established technologies were quickly replaced when better technologies became available. The Horse and buggy vs the automobile, outhouse vs indoor plumbing and the typewriter vs the word processor just to name a few. I get that many people are of the mindset that “football is supposed to be played in grass”. Well that’s probably because there was no such thing as field turf when football was created. Technology has definetly had an effect on footbal with reguards to helmet safety. Did the guys who played in leather helmets fight the transition to better made and safer ones? I bet not. Times change, the weather changes and even the game of football has changed.

Next year will be year two of the current district alignment, so most of the schedules will be the same as last year.  Except the home and visitors switch.

I'm curious to know if House Bill 72 (no pass, no play) will apply to these students.  Would the parents be required to turn in grades to the school of participation every 6 weeks?  And if so, do you really think any parents would "fail" their own child and allow them not to participate? 

I can assure you that the All-Region band tryouts had nothing to do with the time or location of this game.  If it did,  they could have played the game on Friday or later Saturday night.

Nederland vs. Bay City in the Astrodome.  Nederland killed them in the first half, with Padio running wild.  Nederland lead something like 28-7 at the half.  However, Bay City adjusted at the half and ended up winning 35-28.

Has the GT QB been pressured much in any game this year?  And if so, how did he perform?
