1. Congratulations to all three young men from Orange CCS. They are loaded for a deep run next season.
2.
Semi-Final game will be played Friday @ 9:00 pm.
Thanks for clearing that up. I thought you told me Thursday. LOL
3. I think they play Thursday and if they win will play for the State Championship Saturday at 2:00PM. I can't make the trip to Dallas Coach Hyman but I'll be getting updates and following the success of the Lions as they look to win two games with a team loaded with juniors.  "Don't let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do." - John Wooden
4. Wow, Coach Hyman has done a great job this year and they have a good group of kids. Only one senior so they will be even better next year! I won't be surpised if they win it all this season!
5. What is you definition of successful? I know how he did at Lumberton. Where else did he coach on the 5A or 4A level and what was his record there? Nothing against Coach Haynes as he was my WR coach in High School.
6. It would be great for Coach Foreman to get the West Brook job. Coach Thompson getting the WO-S job there is the only reason he isn't the Head Coach for the Mustangs. Personally, I think Coach Foreman is the next Head Coach at West Brook. You heard it here first! LOL
7. Man, it's our third year of competition and second in the SLC so I think this schedule is good for us, especially with 21 freshman on the team. Now next season, I hope you get your wish as I don't want to continue having sub DI's on the schedule after this season.
8.
Mathews left to be with his future wife at atm, not because of the code.  Ask anyone that knows him, he still follows that same code.  Coach Mathews had said in several interviews that Montana reminds him of his brother.
Guess I need to make myself more clear. I said Jason Mathews left BYU for ATM. Then I stated the conduct code at BYU is no joke. I did not say Mathews left because of the code. It is a lot easier to follow the code when you are married.  ;)
9. I know a special person who is Mormon that signed with BYU but later transferred to ATM. His brother is you're Head Football Coach and AD. Believe me, even for a Mormon that conduct code is no joke.
10. BYU is a great school but you better be prepared for their conduct code. It takes a special person to play there!
11.

I was surprised that Lamar showed no interest in Brandtley Wilson from Kelly. He had outstanding numbers with 233 tackles, 133 solo tackles, and 10 sacks. I'm sure he is fine with Air Force but i just find it odd that they showed from what i know of no interest in him.
like the kid..but he's  slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
Good point here. A kid may be a beast in high school but how does his skill transfer to Div. 1 football? And we all know the real good players want to go to SEC, bIG 12, ETC.
Glad you replied BLUEDOVE3 as I hear your wife works for the same medical facility as I. You don't see too many women on setxsports.com at work. LOL
12. Well, within the past 5 years you've had Billy Chavis, Blake Chavis, Jacody Coleman, Jordan Garrett and Marcus Malbrough transfer from FBS schools and they are all from West Brook. I know C-Mike is at ATM but I can't name another West Brook ex playing at the FBS level. I'm sure someone can name a few.
13. Hopefully it is a temporary ban like I got. The guy is over the top and I don't agree with family bashing on a public forum. But, the guy had me reading his post because you never knew what he might say. LOL
14.
I know Lamar had an offer to Elandor Roberts of Memorial.
Are you sure as no one from Lamar has been on the Memorial campus! LOL
15. You're right Holmes is going to turn down Arkansas, Seales was going to turn down Oklahoma State,  Singleton was going to turn down Baylor and Armstead is going to say no to Baylor. Honestly, those are the only ones I wish Lamar signed as most of the other PA signees were to juco's, Morgan State and Alcorn State. I haven't been a hard-core supporter of Coach Ray Woodard but Lamar signed a great class and hired a great O-line and special teams coach in McKnight who played in the NFL 12 seasons and has coached at the FBS level.
16. Read the article I posted a link to. No one offerred Seales until the state semifinal game against Cibolo Steele. Where I'm from no one means, no one.  ;D
17. Man, it's a long time and a lot of things happen from Thanksgiving to Feb. 1st. Like I said earlier, believe what you want. I never said Lamar wasn't late to offer the guy.
18. Edit: Please just post links to the content due to copyright laws. Will comply with the rules. Here is the link stating Lamar was recruiting Seales. [Hidden Content]
19. Here are the schools that were recruiting Seales. [Hidden Content]

21.
I would take Seales, Holmes, Blueitt, Shrapps, and that guy from anahuac. Not sure if we tried to recruit them or not. But that's about it.
Seales signed with OSU and had a Lamar offer. Blueitt signed with UT and committed before his senior season. Shrapps signed with North Texas and Lamar offerred. The guy from Anahuac (Justin Albritton) signed with Texas State and had a long standing offer from Lamar. As for as LB's, have you guys seen the guys we signed? Pretty impressive if you ask me!
22. That is a tough loss for Coach Brack and the young ladies at CCS. HD must be pretty good because I just saw CCS beat a team from Baytown 58-8! Congratulations to HD a lopsided victory.
23. That was a lot closer than CCS's last two games. This team can got pretty far in the playoff's of TAPPS.
24.
Mcneal started the week after the OU game and Long never saw the field again. That was Slocums call. End of discussion! And the twin brothers (Colburn twins) were not there Longs senior season. They graduated the year before. Longs targets that senior year were Baxter, Norton, Price (a Jr) and Lumley. Point being he had a few offers, but no D1 until the SF game. I think everyone that reads this board new the message I was conveying when I pointed out the lack of recruiting for two HOFers and a future HOFer. Lots of excellent talent is under recruited each year, just as lots of talent is over recruited each year (see G. Gilbert)! So yes in that regards (being under recruited) I was comparing Brennan Doty to those HOFers. LOL at that.  ;D
Dang, I didn't think I saw him play as a junior (Long) but obviously I did and he was great that year. I wish I cared enough to win this debate and look it up. I might give Bob West a call. He probably can get those stat's and maybe give me his opinion on the better QB at PNG. Sorry, don't agree with the end of discussion. There was a coaching change. Slocum was reassigned to assist the President of the University and they hired Fran from Alabama. BTW, he had 7 TD passes against Texas Tech. [Hidden Content] He talked Long into staying and probably told him the QB position was open for competition. Isn't that a form of recruiting? So you are saying since Slocum benched Long he should stay the back-up under a different Head Coach? Are you serious? There are changes all over the field after a coaching change and a lot of times that includes the QB. Obviously, McNeal wasn't great at ATM and IMHO Long would have won more games. There is one thing still missing in you arguement. The players you mentioned may have been under recruited in college but they all had at least one school offerring a scholarship. Doty had zero! Now, if we keep this up it's going to sound like I didn't think Brennan was a good HS QB. I thought he was very good. Just not as good as Dustin Long. Aren't you the guy that kept arguing that PNG in 1988 was 1-9 in 4A and you kept saying that was their last year in 5A? LOL at that  ;)
25. "Franchionne talked Long into staying his Junior season and decided to go with McNeal from day one of the season. McNeal was not Frans prized recruit he was Slocums!" I'm confused here as you even admit Fran decided to go with McNeal Long's junior season from day one of the season. Isn't that basically what I stated? I watched Long several times and you are wrong he was being recuited by schools his whole senior season. I remember PNG had a couple of twin brothers that were his main target's for the Indians. Then please tell me you aren't comparing Brennan Doty to Jerry Rice, Drew Brees and Walter Payton! These are HOF NFL players and Brees will be there one day and Doty never took a snap in college football. Geez! LOL BTW, since you brought him up Drew Brees had the same injury as the QB Lamar just signed a torn labrum. [Hidden Content]
