1.
Terrible addition. I commented on the SLC FB page and they removed it.
ShlyKBMT, I agree with all your points. Then think about recruiting the Houston area after all the big-name universities take the best players. Then Texas State, UTSA, SHSU, SFA, McNeese, HBU and Lamar will battle for the best of the rest. This will kill the SLC in the FCS playoffs. New Hampshire, Montana, Montana State, Georgia Southern, Northern Iowa and the like don't have a bunch of FCS programs in their backyard.
2. The average NFL TE is in the 6'4 to 6'6 range and about 250-260 lbs.
3. Man, I hope you are right because if he can play pro ball it only helps Lamar recruiting. Coach Woodard can say, "look we just restarted our football program and in the first senior class we have a player in the NFL."
He's got the talent and heart; just doesn't have the size.
6'3, 210 lbs, I think he has the size. I don't know about his forty speed.
5.

Darren Sproles actually was an every down back in high school @ Olathe North HS. He rushed for 2000 yards as a junior in only 9 games. 2400, 49 touchdowns, and a 6A state title in Kansas his senior year. You guys are comparing the way Sproles plays against NFL defenses to the way Lindsey plays against 3A HS defenses. As far as where Darren Sproles was at this point in Lindsey's life the two are incomparable. Good luck to WOS, and Britton Lindsey, I would love to see the kid play at a division 1 school in college.
...and Britton has been an every down back in highschool as well... We are speculating about college, no one said that Sproles wasn't an every down back in highschool. He wasn't in college and he isn't in the NFL, either. Lindsay probably will not be either. The only reason the comparison was made is because they are both short in stature, but explosive. I think it's a fair comparison.
Sproles started at Kansas State his junior and senior season and set over 23 school records. He was a every down back for KSU as his junior year he had over 300 carries. Here is a lot more information about Sproles and his college career. [Hidden Content]
6. I see an upset here as I have Bellvile pulling out a close victory.
7.
Actually, if you remember correctly, our defense knocked the WOS starting QB out of the game.  We were shutting the veer down up until that point.  Well, unfortunately for us the WOS backup came in and seemed to ignite that offense.  Yeah, our left guard had a neck injury that day.  He was fine, just had to wear a neck brace for a couple of weeks.  I played OT and DT.  I normally just played offense, but one of our starting DT's reaggravated an arm injury, and I had the pleasure of going both ways for a while and trying to figure out that zone blocking scheme.  The offensive line for WOS was definitely a strong point for that team.  Actually, that whole team was tremendous.  Our coach had us so hyped up for that game, that I really did not notice how big those guys were until I watched the film the next day.  They looked like a freaking college team.  It was a beautiful day.  Do you remember how we drove the ball down the field on our first offensive field in like five plays only to get stuffed twice on 3rd and 4th down from inside the one yard line?  I still think that we should have went play action on that third down....
Your post is very accurate and I highlighted the part about the O-line because the WO-S O-line isn't near that big today. However, they are veeeerrrryyyy athletic and I think they make it at least two more rounds and possibility farther. I think Coldspring is upset this week.
8. You need to contact one or both of these people at Lamar and I doubt with their scheules they are available for a HS game. Video Coordinator Clint Burges or Production Coordinator Brianna Meadows but again they may show your video guys some things about how to work the equipment but they aren't going to be there for a whole HS football game as they are already working overtime with Lamar volleyball, MBB, WBB and football going right now.
9.
I like all kinds of music. That repetitive stuff gets under my skin. I said play country because I figure it is more readily accepted by most people. It was a relief when the announcer came on. That's the kind of music they play for the celebrity types in their private clubs and we all know they have no taste.  ;D
Unbelievable that after a game we are hearing about the music played. Wow, you think Country is the most readily accepted type of music by most people (fan's, parents, family members, kids in the band, drill team, cheerleaders and players). I have heard plenty of stories about guys playing their music loud on the school bus and it wasn't country. So that motivates you to watch some football? LOL Country music I've heard it all now.  8)
10. God is good thanks for answered prayers and Renfro is okay!
11. Thanks for all the well wishes for our first season of 6-man football. Our best players are juniors and willl be loaded with talent. Congratulations Coach Standberg and the CCS Lions as you guys made us proud!
12. Welcome to 6-man from a CCS Lions fan and if you like offense you are going to love having a 6-man program. Best of luck in the future!
13.
Coach Mathews is a smash mouth kind of guy and it sound like his team has taken on his personality. They are going to be tough in the 4th quarter. If Vidor can contain their speed the Pirates are going to win this game!
I think I pretty much called it at halftime. Great job Vidor and Coach Mathews!
14. I think I said before halftime if they can contain Crosby's speed they would pull it out in the 4th quarter. Great game Coach Mathews and the Vidor Pirates fom an LC-M alum.

16. I agree there as I don't know how many times I've been called Rhodes and that ain't my name. LOL
17. Point noted but people like you is why I'm paying more for a newspaper Orange Leader or Beaumont Enterprise. They need to start charging for access to their website.  :) Just having fun I'm only playing around. But, I do think they do the best they can do with their budget.
18. Again, they can only report what they are told. You really think they want to deceive the very fan's they are hoping will buy their newspaper? Come on man.
19. Man, I'm rooting for you guys but you are wrong about the Orange Leader. For their budget and the members of their staff to cover all the games they do a great job. I was just given Gabe a hard time. He is a good sportswriter even if he spells a couple names wrong. Heck, I lived in the D/FW metroplex for years and would see the same error and they have huge budgets and suppose to have some of the best sportswriters in the country.
20.
Well if I sit here there is proof I am not doing much of my work today HA!. Gotta get a hold of that BC coach of yours.
If that is directed at me, I attended and played at BC but I played and graduated from LC-M and if there are stories about me or my dad floating out there. They are probably true. LOL
21.
yall have a nice day LOL. I know a battle I can't win. Time to go write more "false" stories. Good luck Pirates as always and good luck to Bolinger.
Don't quit that easy. You're a sportswriter for goodness sake. You should be able to talk cricles around these guys. LOL
22. Don't leave out the sports editor in Van Wade. He has been there for years!!!
23. You guys at the Orange Leader do a great job especially the sports department. Thank you for your  coverage of all the Orange County schools. Even giving little CCS a little time. With that said to be honest in football I think WO-S gets the most coverage but it's not just the Leader as KOGT seems to broadcast more WO-S games. I guess it's because they are the class of Orange County in football. Back on topic. Good luck tonight to Coach Mathews and the Vidor Pirates.
24. Well, a true QB draw even out of the pistol or spread the QB takes a step or two back then normally tries to hit a lane between the center and guard. The read option on the other hand it taken outside the tackle. Yea, he carried the ball over twenty times but I guess that was just part of the game plan. Go Big Red!
25. Well, the depth chart is out for the game Saturday and Prewitt is listed #1, Bevil #2 and Johnson #3. You can see for yourself at www.lamarcardinals.com. BTW, most of Prewitt runs against SFA weren't draws, they were read option plays and he read the DE and kept the ball. Still got hammered. Think Red, Think Lamar!
