I'm not here to argue but Prewitt proved last year he could win games. Remember the last 3 games after Bevil got hurt? I think any of the three can lead us to victory Saturday as I really believe we can beat Nicholls if we can contain their QB. I just believe after getting the crap kicked out of him versus SFA he deserves a chance to start Saturday. If he sucks pull him and put Bevil or Johnson in.

I did make a statement that all the Prewitt fan's would be upset if he didn't start and we lost and you just proved that point correct. I want him to start but I'm not Whitten or Woodard.

[/quote] Sorry, I watched Johnson get sacked three times against Northwestern and SFA has a much better defense and Johnson runs a 4.3. I think you are making too much of a generalization here. Were you at the game? Prewitt had less than three seconds on several occasions to make a decison to throw a possible pick or eat the ball. The WR's were double covered as SFA was mainly in cover 2. He made positive yardage on several plays but sacks are taken from the rushing total in college. BTW, I'm from Orange and watched Bevil in HS and obviously with Johnson's natural skill set I was hoping for more playing time for him. However, Prewitt showed me he has a lot of heart because a lot of players in the same positon would not have finished the game.

I thought you said faster. There is a big difference.  ;) There are drills to help with quickness but for most athletes you are either fast or you aren't. Rarely do you see someone run a 4.7 in HS then run a 4.4 in college.

Well, after 66-0 beatdown by Sam, the game last week against a team who beat us 72-3 and followed that up with a 69-10 victory. Having a four game losing streak. Are we really competitive with our (competitive schedule)? There was only about 8,000 in actual attendance and would have been less if SFA didn't bring their fan's and band. Also there was another game in Beaumont Saturday (I hate that Lamar has to compete with BISD for fan's it is terrible) PUS should be the place all football fan's want to be at. Then there are the guys like my niece's (senior political science major) boyfriend who went deer hunting and she had to work at Mathews Jewelers in Beaumont then she was ill (had a lap chole done last week) or she would have been there. They watched the game versus Sam on the TV at work and she was mad when I talked to her. She is a really big football fan and have been to Cowboy Stadium to watch Dallas several times. Boyfriend is a electrical engineer Lamar alum. So if Lamar was playing better he would have been there. Others I bought season tickets for had the flu and couldn't come. I'm pulling for Coach Woodard but I think there are some other changes needed to be made. Yes I'll be at the McNeese game. I've been to all but the Texas College game at home this year. I waited 21 years for football so I'm going win or lose. I just might get mad and leave early if we are down 54-7 at halftime. Just hope for better results the next 2 weeks.

Well, Sam is full of sophomores and SFA is full of sophomores and juniors and Northwestern has been improving yearly under Bradley Peveto. So, replacing 22 seniors this year expecting to be in the middle of the pack next year is being very optimistic.

Got Alan Daniels here (both from Tulsa) and he is the best player we have had in the last decade. He only coached the second time 3 years and was 18-11 his second year and 17-14 his third. Then as AD, we wouldn't even have a football program if it wasn't for Tubbs. I got that straight from Dr Simmons and if you don't believe him that is on you. Mike Deane was 15-16, 9-18, 15-14 and 13-14 and you were stating many times he needed more time. Roc, I agree with you he was given time and couldn't produce. I don't think everyone want's a complete overhaul of the coaching staff but if you can't see that our offense and defense is worse than last year you are just too close to the coaching staff (I'm talking being friends with them).

Nederland Bulldogs - A Tradition of Excellence = not bragging? 27, the game I was in reference to was a game several years ago at Nederland with Beaumont officials. Fact! Sorry you can't get that through your head. I've stated it several times now it wasn't last nights game I was referring to. Good luck in the playoffs starting Friday at Lamar. I doubt I have to worry about a seat in the 16,000 seat Provost Umphrey Stadium.

Agreed, Vidor is a ball controlled offense and is mainly ground oriented. They aren't a big play offense but if Coach Mathews can get an early lead in this game. The defense is pretty solid.

Ozen will not lose this game. Too many athletes for Lumberton.
